Two charges for 9.84 on my card...one from Feosac.com and another from onwsac.com. Went to both their websites and they are exactly the same page with a different name...no services for sale only a phone number and a contact email...the prefix on the number isn't even a US number. Check your accounts folks there is a huge scam going on right now. Account closed and new card on the way here...did a google search on these sites and thousands of folks have been compromised by these 2 companies. What a bunch of scumbags...

edit...both these charges were on 12-20-13 with in minutes of each other

I have a separate credit card for online purchases. I transfer the EXACT amount of my online purchase to it when I use it.

So there is never anything to get. No overdraft protection on the card, of course, and my bank has excellent fraud protection team who catches these things before they even make it to my card anyway.

The one time I got hacked for a few dollars, the fraud protection team at the bank noticed it way before I did. Most good banks have people looking at this stuff nowadays.

Use prepaid or reloadable cards, or set up a checking account that you you only use for online purchases w debit card. Don't put an auto transfer or overdraft on it, just move $ into it as you need to.

I'm not an expert but not sure if this is a good idea. I think you are better off with a low limit credit card as those can easily be disputed compared to prepaids and checking.

I use a prepaid only anymore for online purchases. The exact amount I am about to spend gets put on there right before I spend it. There is nothing for anyone to get if they try. No need for a dispute.

Oh ok. So it always has a zero balance until you are ready to use. Sounds exhausting to me as I buy things online almost daily but I'm sure it's effective and sounds like it works for you. For me, limited accounts with constant monitoring has done me right *knocks on wood*

It is a bit easier since I do all my ordering for a month at once. :)

With no overdraft or auto transfer the only time money can be had is when you put in. If the funds are not in the account the transaction is denied. No transaction = nothing to dispute. Same with a reloadable card.
