I hope that the garranty covers this , already sent a mail out to harry , lets wait!

Good luck with that. I emailed Janty last week informing them of having a less than one week old Stick with a faulty switch and dead atomizer, and haven't heard a word back.

They've made me feel violated and dirty. Shame on them. Shame, shame, shame.

I am so glad I waited for user input. I have always followed the belief:
"Never buy Version 1.0 of anything"
Dodged a bullet there. I have been in manufacturing all of my adult life. To make a device like this out of metal and quality switches, etc. you will need to expect to spend $150-$200. Until there is a Star Trek "replicator" anyway. Quality ain't cheap. The metal one may be better, but I would advise to hold off on even those for now. Only large quantities with great quality control - made on precision CNC machining centers will solve these issues in the long run.

Also the switch is NOT breaking because of misuse! It will adhere and stay there forever? Try telling that to the guys with switch problems. I am sure they are not mistreating their Stick either! I think it is coming up because the button is so close to the edge that simply pressing it a few times causes it to peel up.

My switch started going bad. And I saw the sticky tape was loosening. It is now fixed and working as new again - simply pulled the switch free, learnt that it had moved to one side a bit (not making contact as it should). Put it right again, used a bit of glue (not too strong glue, I need to be able to get at it again if it happens again) on the tape; and all is working again.

I know, not a stellar solution for a not-stellar way of making it in the first place; but it is okay again. So worth a try for others with a switch-problem too perhaps - no needing to send it away and wait for weeks this way...

Thats a great tip I will be trying that once Stick number 2 starts going wrong! It really is moving to one side and that is/was on both my Sticks!

seems it heat from the atomizer making the glue soft. that's why its able to move.

Betting if the switch is on the bottom in use and your right handed, looking at the switch it has moved to the left. looking at the switch face on , button at the top

If your left handed , switch on the bottom in use , it's moved to the right. looking at the switch face on , button at the top

warranty.replace YES

but after just a few weeks use WRONG!
My goodness, you know where all the stuff in our landfills come from?
Used and broken STUFF. Stuff happens, you know. I also am waiting for a replacement from Janty, and I know that they will indeed get around to making everything all right. Ranting about it may get me more waiting time.

The reason warranties exist and serve a purpose is to take care of problems with new purchases, whether it be something DOA or with a problem shortly after you get it. Stuff happens - have you never needed warranty service before? As long as they fix or replace it, they are doing nothing wrong.

Buying first gen anything can be an adventure, no matter who puts out the product. You have the choice to wait and buy it later, when the kinks have been worked out.

Thats not the point ramblinggrose

yeah sure the warranty will cover this but its still a pain to keep replacing the switch which will no doubt fail again with in a few weeks!

you obviously happy doing this so good luck too you enjoy your stick.

How long have you had your prodigy........an hour?

Lets see how it takes some real world usage as it was never tested. It was literally taken off the machinery that made it and put into a mailing envelope.

No disrespect to Steve what so ever but it is the truth
