We've been giving Bo glucosamine and chondroitin since we've had him, as well as fish oil. He gets the same doses I take. The vet said the pain from his back might be radiating into his front legs, without an MRI it is impossible to tell and even with one would be a "best guess". He seems much better already, today, and is sleeping on his side again. He had been sleeping on his tummy which, I think, contributed to the limping on the front legs. Most of his weight is in his chest so all that weight on the top elbows of his front legs all night could easily make him stiff as a board when he gets up.

It started out moderately warm here this morning with temps around 60. the sun finally made it out at about noon and it's up to 77 now with bright sunshine and a nice breeze instead of a wind. Spent some time outside getting rid of a few dandelions and raking. Lots more raking to do! Any volunteers out there?????

Today dawned sunny and bright, everything washed clean by the heavy rain yesterday. I walked to the library, intending to continue to organize the children's book section, but when I got there, some ladies were organizing the book sale, and they were worrying that there was so much to do and so little time, so I decided to help them instead. I organized one section of books alphabetically by author's name, which took 2 1/2 hours, then walked home. I enjoyed this job, since I got to stand instead of crouch, and there were people to talk to. The library's children book section will still be there, waiting, so it's not as important, I judged, as the book sale, which has to be ready by the time it opens at the end of the week.

I probably should have gone to visit Penny on such a gorgeous day, but I hadn't been to the library in days, and the barn owner took some photos of Penny with her new herd last night to show me she was doing well. She looked a bit bedraggled from the rain, but I'm sure she didn't care. I think she has finally accepted that she has to hang out with a different group of horses now. The only problem is that to get her out of her new pasture, I have to deal with the same kind of gateway that I got hurt with: a section of electric fence with a plastic handle. I'm jumpy about that and the unknowns of a different set of horses I don't know so well to have to chase away while I get Penny out of the pasture and put her back in. I'll learn to deal with it, and I'm sure these horses will turn out to be easier to handle than the troublemakers in her old group.

Hey magnetic putty ate my VAMO!

One weird video! Never heard of magnetic putty before.

Very busy day for me. I had lots of secretarial duties for my Masonic Lodge, I have been the secretary for a LONG time, plus a Masonic funeral and in the afternoon, more yard work, spa cleaning, and NO NAP

Mrs. Wabbit wanted steamed crabs for the family coming this weekend but I haven't told her the BAD News - they are $89.00 for 1/2 bushel. A little rich for my blood, but what momma wants she usually gets.

Catch you all a little later.

Wabbit

Hey Wabbit - The crabs will be worth it. We don't get fresh seafood where I live for almost any price:)

Sounds like you have had a very busy day.

Sandy - I always feel badly if I don't use part of a wonderful weather day to do something with Wiseguy, too. Sounds like you had a successful day at the library.

Awsum How is yourBo doing?

It is windy and nasty cold here today although the sun is out. I spent the day not getting much of anything done:) I did get some of the rocks out of the truck that Hubby and I picked up last night when he got home from work Took a loooonnnggg nap early today. I need to drink this afternoon cup of coffee and get the bathrooms cleaned so I can feel like I got something done today. I dusted and vacuumed yesterday. If I do a good clean up on the kitchen and mop in there tomorrow I will have the whole house cleaned for a change. Of course, the kitchen gets cleaned even when the rest of the house doesn't so that should go pretty fast.

Sandy, in that scene Charlie Sheen walks out of the office after the psychologist tell him to be careful and closes the door. In the hall a maintenance man has a light fixture removed from the ceiling and the wires are hanging down exposed. The view is from inside the office and through the frosted glass window Sheen is seen in an xray view doing the "funky chicken". When the psychologist opens the door to see what the commotion is, Sheen is standing there with his hair standing straight up and smoke is wafting all around him. Sorry, I have this thing for sight gags.

Thanks for asking, Lizzie. Bo seems like his old self today. I think the muscle relaxants are helping him tremendously. He's not limping at all and has no trouble getting up from lying down and is lying on his side again. He got three doses of the pills today, but given the advice of the vet and his improvement, we're going to cut that down to two doses tomorrow.

OK, now I understand.

I'm glad Bo is feeling better. Let's hope it stays that way when you reduce the meds.

Hey Wabbit! Now that you're home and doing the "honey Dew" chores so things are back to normal, how's the rain tax treating you?

The rain tax is still in committee, but my guess is they will approve it, but not statewide. I think the Eastern Shore will be exempted for now. Mrs. Wabbit and I are "investigating" building a new "smaller" home in Delaware. The state line is only 8 miles from us and the development we are looking into is actually less distance from the shopping malls than our current location. We can continue to attend our current church, clubs and keep our friends. This is a HUGE decision for us since we designed and built our current home and we love everything about it except the taxes in Maryland, they are truly killing me.

Good Morning Volties- Italian roast coffee is on.

I love sheep. There is a place on the way to Carson City that has sheep. They are white. The babies are so cute. Every year they have one black lamb in the field. It's like playing "Where's Waldo?". I've only been by there a couple of times this year and so far haven't found the little black lamb yet but there must be one there since, in a sea of white lambs, there is always one cute little black sheep:)

The sheep this neighbor has are black and white. So one time, a ewe had twins, and one was black and the other white. I guess it's just how the genes fall, though maybe some purebred types are only one color. I don't know much about sheep, so someone who does may want to comment on whether there are breeds with a specific color. I also don't know if these sheep are for meat or for wool. I understand there are different breeds for the 2 different purposes. The wool sheep have nice coats but not much meat on them, and the meat sheep are meaty but their wool isn't very good for making yarn. I guess it's like cows, which have different breeds for meat or milking.

AAARRGGHHHH!!!! 26 degrees overnight low. All I can do is survey the damage. Hopefully it didn't get cold til late and it is warming up fast now that the sun is up.

Most wool sheep are white because you can dye white wool easily.

That makes sense, though I have a sweater that's undyed wool that is 3 colors: white, brown, and a dark gray that's probably from a black sheep. I like it that the colors are the natural sheep's colors.

It's only 60 here today, cloudy and may rain later today but I'm going to go do some raking until it does rain, too much to rake and I didn't get any volunteers.

There's a goat farm not far from me and a couple of alpaca farms as well. One of the alpaca farms seems more like a couple of pet alpacas, or maybe they're llamas, while the other one has a mix of horses, goats, sheep and alpacas (or llamas). How do you tell the difference between an alpaca and a llama? They look very, very similar to me anyway.

One of these days, when it's a nice sunny day, I'll go out and get some photos.

Geez, that reminds me. I have two flower beds to rake out. And by flower beds I mean big flower beds:)

I need to get some work done today or at least get that little horsey out and play with him. So far, it looks sunny and not windy today.

I think alpacas are smaller and more delicate looking than lamas.
