Today dawned sunny and bright, everything washed clean by the heavy rain yesterday. I walked to the library, intending to continue to organize the children's book section, but when I got there, some ladies were organizing the book sale, and they were worrying that there was so much to do and so little time, so I decided to help them instead. I organized one section of books alphabetically by author's name, which took 2 1/2 hours, then walked home. I enjoyed this job, since I got to stand instead of crouch, and there were people to talk to. The library's children book section will still be there, waiting, so it's not as important, I judged, as the book sale, which has to be ready by the time it opens at the end of the week.
I probably should have gone to visit Penny on such a gorgeous day, but I hadn't been to the library in days, and the barn owner took some photos of Penny with her new herd last night to show me she was doing well. She looked a bit bedraggled from the rain, but I'm sure she didn't care. I think she has finally accepted that she has to hang out with a different group of horses now. The only problem is that to get her out of her new pasture, I have to deal with the same kind of gateway that I got hurt with: a section of electric fence with a plastic handle. I'm jumpy about that and the unknowns of a different set of horses I don't know so well to have to chase away while I get Penny out of the pasture and put her back in. I'll learn to deal with it, and I'm sure these horses will turn out to be easier to handle than the troublemakers in her old group.
