I found out the origin of the SteelJan thing and it really is silly. One reviewer apparently took offense at one of Jan's videos, thinking it was directed at him. This apparently caused his followers to attack Jan. Really sad.

Greetings, everyone! I hope you are all doing well! Just thought I'd stop by and say, "Hello!"![]()
Dial ups have almost dissapeared. I believe only third world countries use it for now but they are switching to ADSL too.People with dial up don't have static IP's.
Today i got my parts to mod the slider PCC YAY!
Problem.
The step up converter board i got works well with a lab power supply but doesn't work fine like a want it on the pcc. I may have to make one my self or buy another one.
Crap!
I may also modify the existing one.
Sandy it's going to charge on itself on the go without the need of a usb power supply.
Solar and RF energy harvesting.
Solar is better and much more efficient. Needs the sun tho, but that doesn't matter.
Energy harvesting can work in the pocket too but the slider PCC doesn't have enough space for both.
I'll try solar first but i'm having some problems with the power management.

Everyday energy passes through your body, it consists of thousands of radiowaves used by television channels, radio channels, mobile radio equipment (public services like police, fire etc).
How do you think the signal comes to your house? It's transmitter from an antenna from a radio tower, satellite etc and your antenna just captures it from the air. The same radiowaves on all frequencies pass through your body. Even your cell phone transmitts energy to the BTS station (operator).
You can capture those radiowaves with a wide band antenna or a copper coil (usually a LOW voltage) and you can use special semiconductors made for this job to step up the voltage (we need 5V for the PCC).
All the electronics (antenna, pcb parts etc) can be housed inside the device so it won't be visible, it will look just like a regular pcc.
I have a solar-powered flashlight. It's got a solar panel along one side of its length. I leave it in my car for when I need a light at night -- usually map reading. The sun comes into the car enough to power it, even though we have lots of cloudy days here. I thought this was such a great idea that I got one for my brother, and he keeps it on a window shelf in his kitchen. It's great not to have to think about the batteries, since I don't use a flashlight very often. You could do something like that, with a solar panel on the surface of the slider. Set it out in a sunny window when you're not carrying it around, and maybe it'd store enough power so it would be OK while you have it in your pocket. It sounds like a great idea. Let us know how your project progresses.
Thank you for explaining this to me. It is amazing to think about. I wonder what all these radio waves are doing to us?
Sandy i'm working on it. The main problem i have is to keep the pcc charging indoors with artificial light or on cloudy days.
The solar panel i have produces 5 Volts, In low light conditions it produces 3V which is not enough to charge the pcc without modifying it's internal circuitry. That's why i am using an "inverter". A step up converter to have an input from 2.7V up to 5V and it will constantly provide 5Volts. This will enable it to work in cloudy days or artificial light.
Nothing.
They are consumed by living tissue in the form of heat, which is VERY minimal and you don't even notice it (0.000003Celcius per cm or something like that)
You got to have a very powerfull source and be really close by to fry you, that is how your microwave oven heats water molecules on your food (2,4GHz frequency and around 800W of power)
The radiowaves you receive are μV class. They cannot cause anything.
Nope, i'm trying to get the solar working. So, is that where using the radio waves comes in?
Electric power lines are not radio towers, they don't emmit electromagnetic radiation. They might have side effects but not from directly emmiting the same radio signal as other towers.Although I've heard there are problems people have when they live under high-power lines. They must get an unusually high dose, and long-term, that can cause trouble -- things like cancer.
