Hunker down guys! Looks like it's just going to pass me and head straight for my Ohio neighbors. Be safe!

We just had a storm here. I hope another one isn't on its way from south of us.

Okay, I just had a bright idea. Turned on our local weather channel. Prediction is showers and thunderstorms tonight. That doesn't sound too bad. Hope we get some more rain tonight.

One week! Congratulations!!

At this point, I got what felt like a cold, a mild sore throat, and a tenderness behind the breastbone. It all passes. Drink LOTS of water!

You'll probably be congested for a little while, CommaHolly. It's a part of the process, could be a few weeks, could be a few months. Cough up that yukky stuff! Eventually, when you cough, it will be a full cough, things get out like they should, and it won't be a hacking cough with all the gunk in the lungs still. My doc said use a decongestant that works for you (and won't mess with any other meds you may be taking).

There's a storm brewing here in the Denver metro area, but I'm afraid it is just going to produce more dry lightening - which is what caused the latest wildfire. And the winds....

This reminds me of 2000, the year my mom died of cancer. I went home to Montana to be with her those last days, and it was the year that the state burned, my hometown was completely surrounded by fire. My mom was smoking up to her last day, and she was horribly sick as it was from the radiation treatment, and all that smoke and ash in the air. The skies were always red and thick with haze, and everyone was told to stay indoors. My mom's lungs were already cooked, I worried about her. My brother worked outdoors at a mill, I worried about him. My dad was a reemployed annuitant working for the Forest Service during that summer coordinating firefighting efforts (he was a retired smokejumper), I worried about him. And the land just kept burning. Do a google search for images for "Elk Bath." An employee working for the Bureau of Land Management took a picture in one of the valleys and this is what the whole western area of Montana looked like in the summer of 2000. Welcome to Colorado 2012.

The summer of 1988 we went cross-country to California, and the West was burning then, too. They closed Yellowstone Park, which I wanted to visit, because of fires, and when we were in Helena, Montana, I could see the smoke of fires in the forests on nearby mountains.

I remember that year, too, SandySu. Was the year the Secretary of the Interior (Watts) decided they wouldn't fight the fires in Yellowstone because it was a national park and there shouldn't be any intervention in nature's process. Ok, there was a LOT of flack over that one, to say the least, especially since Yellowstone was such a huge tourist park!

decongestants make my heart race, my palms sweat and make it impossible to sleep :( I guess I'll just suck it up,,,,,,,,,

haha, I had to veer away from this thread for a little while, cuz I was eating dinner. EEEEEWWW!!!

Took a ride over to Tasty Vapor this afternoon, and they hooked me up! I told Lana I wanted to turn my Brownies into Oreos, and BAM! White creme filling eliquid! She's a fricking genius! The smell is dead on. Waiting for the dairy in it to catch up now...

Bummer. When I was on high bp meds, I couldn't take decongestants for that reason. The only medicines I was actually allowed to take was Tylenol and pink Benedryl (alergy med). The other Benedryls have the ingredients that do the side affect thing if you're prone to those things or are taking bp meds. Maybe the pink Benedryl can help you a little?

stay safe everyone!!!!!!

WOW on that Elk Bath photo!!!!!!!!!

so sorry about your Mom, Kia :( so sad.

I can't stand that Kay commercial,,,,,,,,,IDK but it makes me think "not all women are so greedy they need diamonds to give affection" LOL,,,,,,,,don't know why, but it totally grates on me,,,,,,

I think the same thing about those type of comercials. Are they in love with the guy or the diamonds. If it's the diamonds it approaches the worlds oldest profession. My post was about my wife's sense of humor.

Wow!! A week!! Good job Holly. Keep hackin up those lung cookies. It'll pass, along with some other symptoms you may or may not get. I got a lot of light headedness. (more than usual lol)

It is true. Hard for us to accept, but it really is necessary for a healthy ecosystem. There are pinecones (or something) that need fire to release their seeds, and other benefits that are only appreciated some time later.
