I do that a lot too, Holly. Just too broke to throw anything away. Luckily it does usually come out amazingly tasty. And yeah, just give the Tiramisu a little more time.

And here's my lazy tip: an SI carto condom without the nubbin = 1ml, and you can use it as a mini-measuring cup (got tired of pulling out the syringes and stuff).

And here's another one: sticking a T-pin all the way through the bottle dropper hole will make it pour faster (I'm lazy AND have no patience)!

@ "Moonstruck" - WOW ! ! ! Glad to hear everyone is still ALIVE ! ! ! AND - Hopefully will be Safe ! ! ! Now given your "voice" and how well "You" describe and see the things going on there - Have "You" ever thought about becoming an "Advocate" and spokesperson for yourself and your neighbors . . . Just a thought and something to think about . . .

Uncle, good suggestion, and I pretty much did exactly that. Yesterday I suggested to the park managers that we hold a park meeting for the residents to help assuage everyone's fears/anger/frustration. Just got back from the meeting, and it really helped. We received claim forms to submit to Xcel (obtained covertly since they still have not been offered to us by Xcel directly). I asked about the injured victims, and both are doing well. One is still in the hospital, but she is supposed to be released tomorrow or Monday.

Xcel said as of this morning that no more leaks were found, so the park brought in their own gas detection service who, I am not surprised, found several more leaks. So Xcel is being forced to fix those as well.

My home is currently hooked up to an auxiliary tank, but we are supposed to be hooked back up to the main by tomorrow afternoon. New lines are being laid to several homes all around me.

Things are finally starting to look better, and it's a good thing -- I think everybody was on their very last nerve.

Aw c'mon - no coffee?! Well, I'll make a pot for you folks cuz I miss you. But, I see that Blues sneaked in here last night too.

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd check in on everyone. Seems a tad quiet, but it usually is on the weekends. Just wanted to say:

Good Morning Volties!

Thanks Rave - I needed that coffee. Hope you are enjoying your time off.

Slept a little late and Hubby got the fire going while I fed the critters. Yes, the critters have to eat every day, twice a day. Sometimes I wonder who owns who:)

Ry4 this morning.

No rain, darn it. We sure could use some moisture in this part of the world.

We got a quarter of the garden rototilled yesterday. We had to spread compost and goat straw first. It's a lot of work having a veggie garden but so worth when you have fresh veggies. Tonight we'll have some of the fruits of our labor for dinner - butternut squash.

Have a great day Volties.

My heart hurts. If I have offended anyone or caused ill feelings I apologize. Personally,I think everyone of you are fantastic. Being a nurse I don't get to see a lot of "good" things.I have been logging in for the laughs, to hear the stories,to fill my cup and to learn about vaping.
Well gotta get ready for work. You all sleep well and have a GREAT night
Ditto here too. Trying to live w/ a disorganized hoarder (mom) and keep things in order is hair pulling for me. I've seriously considered leaving home permanently. But hubby / my horses / the humor here and a few other things have kept me from totally loosing it as well as staying off the stinkies. Right now I'd trade it all for the insanity of really angry teenage foster boys who destroy whatever they can get ahold of in their frustration. That was my former life ... gosh I miss our home! But (fingers crossed) it may finally be a sale done and over. 3rd times the charm right?

Lizzie. Do you have more pictures of your minature horse? He is SOOO cute!!
I'd love to see some pics too! I think of SandySu's pic w/ the lil cart! I'd be tempted to keep them in the basement w/ me in bad weather! Oh heck - how bout for the winter!

Hi guys! Missed you too! It was the 3 weeks from hell,,,,,,DH's mother was sicker than we thought (glad we went),,,she's down to 75 lbs,,,,,,not a big woman to begin with, but she should weigh 50 lbs more than that,,,,,,,,she's kicked cancer 3 times (in remission) but the emphysyma will kill her,,,,,,,,,so glad I vape now!

then we went to my family's house, and my sister, a diabetic, kept going into major reactions,,,,,,,like blood sugar level below TWENTY. She acts really drunk when she goes into a reaction, and she was getting violent,,,,,,,,we had to SIT ON HER to get sugar into her,,,,,,,,,so off to the hospital she went,,,,,,they kept her for a week,,,,,,,,,

top that with a hurricane and loss of power for 3 days,,,,,,,,,,a nor' easter with several inches of snow,,,,,,and my mother a nervous wreck due to my sister (she made ME DRIVE IN THE SNOW!!!!!!) and you get the idea,,,,,,,

Love them all, but man, what a couple weeks!!!!!

I am happy to be home,,,,,,,I had some sort of "flare" up there, my knee is swollen and I can barely walk,,,,,,,,,,sigh. Anyway, it's warmer here
Oh gosh - what a fiasco! We lost 4 family members to cancer about 18 months apart from one to the next.
I can relate to the diabetic incident. My friend and doctor has a pump. She's also a brittle diabetic. She nearly lost her job because of a pump not working correctly and getting false readings and the resultant mental confusion that comes with it ...

Not really like cigars or pipes, and I've smoked both. More like a tobacco with some very light sweetness and chocolate flavors mixed in. I've still got to try a few mixes of the coffee flavors as well, just haven't had the time to do it yet.
Awsum - have you tried Vapor Station's Sumantra? Eric has a thread here that he opens and closes - all you have to do in post that you'd like to try a sample - he'll PM you for the details. He even pays the postage so it's a FREE freebie.
I just got a vape mail package of 10 more sample sizes plus a 30ml Sumatra yesterday! I'll hunt up the link in a bit.

WELCOME BACK HOLLY!!! You have been missed!!
What is really scary with some diabetics is when they don't take their insulin and they have blood sugars in the 800's sounds impossible but yes it does occur and then you have them on a regular insulin IV drip and then their blood sugars drop really fast. Now the ADA says its best to keep blood sugars tightly controlled meaning give insulin when the blood sugar levels are less than 200. That scares me.
That tight sugar control scares me too. My (above) friend keeps such tight control that she's had to pull off (driving) to take some glucose because it's getting too low. Hubby - he has the heart damage from not taking it seriously and keeping it semi-controlled.

Oh those insulin pumps scare the crap out of me. I'm always afraid they will malfunction.
Ditto.

I'm glad you like it. It looks really good but... only manual. It's all I can do to adjust to the manual X2. I really REALLY hate that button! and the iTaste has more buttons. Oh well, maybe by this time next year... when I've become a more mature vaporer.
I thot about the iTaste too. The square for the same reason: no rolling! LOL!
I started w/ the auto's - tried a couple manual 78's. When the X2's came out - I found I really like them in manual. The stick batts - I prefer the auto bcs the tiny button on the manual sticks hurt my finger and I find I'm hitting it at least 2 times in one drag depending on the juice I'm using. Seems the batt preference is as subjective as vapor flavor!

Whew! Caught up!

I had a much needed long relaxing dinner Friday night w/ a fellow vaporer after seeing the allergist (about an hour's drive away).
It was fun looking at and discussing equipment over Chinese! When my ship comes in (house sells) I think I want to see about getting a custom Sagewood glass drip tip shaped as a horse head! Hey! They make dragon's and swans!

My lil volt personal charger and 2 auto and 1 manual batts have been on loan to a neighbor. He's "playing" with it.
I'm really torn between replacing one of the X2's or getting a stock of some tobacco flavored carto's w/ the gift certificate I won from SI as one of the gal's I work with has a friend who is wondering about the ecigs too. From chatting over dinner - my friend suggested starting people w/ tobacco flavors. Who better than SI to get people started ... I could give them a sampler pack with a couple batts and let nature take it's course!

Fruit packing job: yeah it's hard at times. It becomes almost like a race yet we need to watch for bad spots as this is premium quality.
Then you get the usual "click's" who are self appointed supervisors that watch everyone else like hawks. Heaven forbid you are seen smiling. You might not be working hard enough. A couple bad apples DO spoil things! Oh well - it's only til Dec 17th!

With my broken arm in a sling, and I don't know yet for how much longer, I've been thinking of getting myself a cape. Wearing a winter coat with only one arm in a sleeve just isn't enough protection, since I can't close the front completely. Also, the hand of the arm in the sling gets cold, not being able to stuff it into a pocket. I tried wearing mittens one day, but they are clumsy. I think leather gloves would be too hard to put on and take off my right hand. I've been walking around like Napoleon, with my right hand stuffed inside my coat. So maybe a cape would solve some of these problems, and I could wear it even when my arm is healed. Do any of you have experience wearing a cape? I'm looking online for what I want, and have seen something close. See Search Results However, I don't want it as long as this one. Maybe about knee-length? I want it to protect me from the cold yet not be so voluminous as to make getting in and out of a car a difficult proposition. I want it as warm as possible, since I can't layer a lot, since I can't get my right arm into sweater sleeves, etc. Having never worn a cape and having to order one without trying it on first, I'm hoping some of you with cape experience can offer some advice, even if it's to say, "Don't get one. You won't like it."

Pat and I watched a DVD last night, the first disc of Lord of the Rings, and I was eyeing their capes. I have a thick wooden walking stick that resembles their staffs closely. Maybe it'd be cool to use that when wearing a cape? Would I look like a Druid or something? Just kidding. This cape would be used as a winter coat, not a costume.

That wasn't me with the little cart. My horse, Penny, is full-sized and has never been trained to drive.

Good morning, Volties!

Our gas is still on, so I'm hoping today will be quiet enough to give us all a reprieve from the stress and frustration.

Sandy, if you decide to get a cape, make sure you get one that has an inner lining with a tie on the inside that goes around your waist (kind of like the wraparound skirts from the 50s & 60s). Otherwise, air tends to blow up inside them (really cold). I would suggest getting one with a zipper rather than buttons since your arm is in a sling.

Uncle, we're all waiting with bated breath for the surprise ... we can't wait and will probably start whining soon, LOL.

Rave, Blu, I was surprised to see you guys on here. Thought you were on vacation? So ... go have a good time! :toast:

Hum,,,,,,,,I made tiramisu and didn't care for it (Might need steeping, but all I can taste is coffee),,,,,,,

made amaretto and didn't care for it,,,,,,,,

so I mixed them,,,,,,just dumped 5ml of each into a 10 ml bottle, and it tastes amazing,,,,,,whodathunkit??
What really stinks is finding out you really like something (dumped) and NOT being able to duplicate it!

That wasn't me with the little cart. My horse, Penny, is full-sized and has never been trained to drive.
Huh? ARE you sure??? I would have sworn you had posted a mini pony w/ a cart going down the street ... Wonder if that was Renolizzie now? Ok - I'm really more scatter brained than usual ... Anyway - I think I'd be the "crazy cat lady" but w/ the ponies! Mucking a "stall" is still mucking - no matter the location right?!!! :p

Here's the link for the samples: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor-station/329822-free-liquid-samples-first-timers.html
I'm vaping the "Dover" right now w/ a VV Twist. For a 16mg vape - it's pretty mild. It really surprised me as I normally vape at 12mg.

Can't believe how much I'm enjoying tobacco flavors now. When I first started I couldn't stand 'em!
I think SI's RY4 is my favorite all-day vape for now. Other's that seemed to have a "perfumey" aftertaste now taste good. I don't think I would get rid of something bcs I don't like it today. Next month might be different. Has anyone else noticed how what you just ate affects your vape? After broccoli - I don't like RY4 ... go figure ...

off to see my fur-kids! have a good day!

I saw this wool poncho, not sure if this would be something you might consider. It really looks warm and not very long. This website had others also. Hope this helps a little in your search.

Oops - thanks JoAnn ... I've missed Voltville and friends too! Glad your better!

Capes - I had a light weight 'knit' one I used with "office" attire.
(Still have it and 2 others I picked up in Tijuanna! that I use around the house! Quicker on/off than a sweatshirt!)

I'm wondering if ANY kind of 'closure' (zip / button / toggle) would be difficult tho.
The cape I had did not "close". It just wrapped and I could pull the front anywhere or "no-where" - let the front part fall. The beauty of that was being able to "tuck it" around say your hand / arm and hold it there with your fingers while the natual weight of your slinged arm could hold the opposite side thereby keeping you "wrapped up".
(Clear as mud right?)
Winter weight - I don't know if that would have enough "drape" or softness to be able to do it that way???

Maybe a "poncho"????? :D (Think Clint Eastwood! Or SandySu the one-armed bandit! kidding!!!!!)

Raynes! Where are you? Rough shift?

ETA: hmm - the poncho came up while typing! Must be in the air!
