Sitting down, facing forward.
OK, I'll spill the beans. Turntables, for playing vinyl records, used to have a center post about a quarter of an inch in diameter for 78 or 33 rpm records. Then they came out with 45rpm records with a center hole about an inch in diameter. That thing was a plastic insert for a 45 to let it fit properly on a regular turntable. There was also a solid disk style adapter as well, but the springy one worked better.

For Chief and all of us that lost loved ones recently, or just remembering those that have passed.

I remember those now! For awhile I thought it was a piece out of my mother's meat grinder! ;)

Well Sandy Su it just goes to show you that you can't believe everything you read on the Internet!

At least I have wished you an early Happy Birthday.

BTW folks, You do not need a lot of talent to apply a coat of stain, let it dry, and spray it with a coat or two of spray clear coat. The boxes are available on line from Hobby Lobby in various sizes. I just happen to have a store here in town and found one cheap. I was going to make one with hobby lumber from Lowes, but just the boards in oak or birch were more than the price of the box already constructed from Hobby Lobby.

PS: I know what that thingy was and I have a few with my 45 collection.

THAT'S what that thing is. I knew it looked familiar, but didn't quite remember why. And, yeah, I'm def old enough to remember those things; just never used them that much.

I can answer that one. Yes, it's still Dec. 29 here in the U.S. Here on the East Coast, we get midnight before those west of us, and it's only 10:19 as I type.

Oh, wait. Do you use military time in Oz? Would that be 22-something there? I remember when I was in Turkey, they used military time, which was as confusing to me as Celsius for the temperature.

turning 50....im a senior now.............ive hardly got past my teens in my brain space...........OMG!!!....do I have to grow up.... no no no:facepalm::laugh:

No, you don't have to grow up. I'm older than you (after all, I remember those inserts for 45 rpm records), and sometimes I feel like I'm 5. (Or is that senility sneaking in?)
