Well RenoLizzie and awsum140, my Drunken Vapor mix just isn't going to work out:facepalm: I found that you can burn off the vapor like in flaumbe (sp?), so I put some in a very small pan on low heat on the stove and lit it with a lighter. I let it burn off, almost to a boil for several minutes until the flame went out. The resulting liquid was sweet with a very light burbon taste, not like the original with alcohol. I did read somewhere that the alcohol adds tons to the taste. Well I guess I will just have to pour a shot glass of Jim Beam to sip along with my RY4 vape:laugh:

Like they said in Animal House: "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life son"

Do any of the flavor vendors have an alcohol flavor that you could add to make it taste the same? I'm not into DIY, but if I was, that'd be my next step to try.

Well, you could always take that remaining liquid and mix it with some PG or even some Everclear to make a DIY flavor base. The thing is, adding the Everclear seems sort of redundant, might be easier to just add the booze in the first place. Many flavors are made with ethyl alcohol anyway and I've been fooling with adding it for improved throat hit.

Hey Sandy, I know Debra is suffering under a heat wave, but it would be nice to see a nice, warm beach scene every now and then :)

I'll find you some beach scenes soon. Meanwhile, here's something I found hilarious when I first came to this area. I had never seen such a thing before. Have you?

This is a vending machine for worms for fishing! Can you believe it? How fresh can the worms in a vending machine be? I mean, think about sandwiches you may have gotten from a vending machine sometime in your life when there were no other alternatives. When I was a kid, sometimes my dad and I rented a boat and went out fishing at Cape May. We would cut up frozen squid, which worked, but best of all was if I could catch live minnows, though I hated to put a hook through them. But a vending machine for worms? This seems to be the height of ridiculousness, but I guess they work, since I've seen a number of them around.

How about this one from sunnier, milder days in the Finger Lakes?

This is the Ginny Lee Cafe, which is the restaurant for Wagner winery on the east side of Seneca Lake, so that's the lake you see in the background. Lots of the wineries have restaurants, too, and a couple of years ago, my friend Karen & I would ride on a weekend morning, then go out to lunch at a winery restaurant. Each week, it was a different one, and finally, we had gone to every winery restaurant within reasonable traveling distance. Our favorite was the bistro at Red Newt winery. But Ginny Lee is good, too, and on a nice day, sitting out on the deck is just about as good as it gets.

That is exactly what I was trying to do, but the remaining liquid had very little resemblance to the original Jim Beam Devil's Cut Burbon. I originally just put about 10 drops of Jim Beam into 10 drops of VG and tried to vape that, but it still did not taste like the pure liquor. I was vaping it in a drip carto (no filtering), so maybe if I put it into a real carto, it might taste better? Who knows. I do have Kentucky Burbon flavoring, but it is not good by itself and I am waiting for my English Tobacco and Tobacco Absolute to try them and then add some Burbon flavor perhaps. I have also ordered Peach and since I love peach, I think peach and Bourbon or Brandy would be good perhaps.
If at first you don't succeed, keep trying is OK---- except for Sky Diving.

I think I remember this being discussed, but since I wasn't into DIY, I didn't pay much attention. I think there was some sort of problem doing that, like it got clogged easily? Why not do an ECF search? I bet lots of info will turn up.

I was just curious about that from reading Rabbit's and Awsum's posts. No diy for me.

Rabbit, there is a 16 hour difference in time. It should be closer to 6:30 AM Thursday morning there I believe. She's probably still sleeping.

Lizzie, I saw the pictures of your goats, Spot, Taffy and Obie in the "Nano's Thread". Obie is very unusual and very striking. What type of goat is he? Do you have another picture of him? Do they make good pets? I know... lots of questions. Hope you don't mind my asking.

How come you showed your goats to them and not us? Can we see the pictures here, too?

Here's a photo that's quite different from the others, but I need something colorful today. This was a glass sculpture close-up that is on display at the Corning Museum of Glass, in Corning, NY, a nice day trip from here. When I was a kid, we first went to Corning, and I remember being very impressed with not only the glass-blowing demos but with the museum, too. I even met a glass blower some years ago that said he got into the business after a visit to Corning and seeing them blowing glass. Nowadays, they have an area where guests can try their hand at glass-blowing, too, and take home the object they make. Maybe next time I visit, I'll give it a try.

Why I needed to post something bright was to cheer up. I went to physical therapy today, which went well, and she measured my angles of how far I can move my arm in a number of directions, and they all improved. Then I went to the bone doctor who did the operation. He said something that is depressing. I guess he expected more range of motion by now, because he said that I may need another operation to remove the plate from my arm if I want full range of motion. Hey! I thought the operation was supposed to do that! Well, he never did make promises, other than he said if I didn't have the operation, I could never expect to have full range of motion. I guess I just hopefully jumped to the conclusion that the operation would eventually enable me to have full range of motion. I'm not eager to have another operation. I'll discuss this with my physical therapist, of course. She's very encouraging, but maybe she just cheerleads all her patients, no matter what their chances are. So the bone doctor left it that we'll see in another couple of months how I'm doing. I have another appointment in March. I guess if the plate is hindering my motion, then another operation is in the cards, but I really hate the thought of starting all over again. I need cheering up, but of course, nothing anyone can say will make my arm work better than it does. Only the physical therapy exercises can do that -- and maybe that won't work totally, either. If I have another operation, does that mean I'll have full range of motion eventually? No one will probably make that promise, so it's a gamble, but this isn't like a poker game, it's my ability to do things and move normally!

Well, Sandy...it's ultimately your decision, no? You can balance the range of motion you achieve, and whether you can live with that, against going thru the surgery again, and "starting over". Due to a ruptured disc in my neck (that rarely causes me any trouble), I have a decreased range of motion in my right arm. And it gets a little worse with each year that passes. It's not bad enough that anyone but me even knows it, but I hate it. I also prefer to live with it. They offered to do surgery, way back when, and my response was, "when I can no longer use my right arm, I'll start thinking about letting you operate on my neck." As you have just found out, surgery doesn't come with a guarantee, and a surgeons' mind-set is, "if you don't let me try, you'll never get any better than you are right now." They want to try. It's what they do; they trained a long time to be worthy. And they can be the best in their field, but everybody's body is different, and will have different results. It's a decision for you to make, not your bone doctor.

kiko, I should have put the answer I've heard about the chicken in my post. The answer I've heard for "why did the chicken cross the road" was a simple one...... "to get to the other side."

I know, cuz if this chick had seen a fine rooster across the street, I'd want him to be crossing over to me!
