I live in a large agricultural area, so I'm sure I can find it. I have to ask, why would PG be at a tractor supply store? Do tractors need PG? <really confused>

They use it to treat ketosis-something-or-other in cows. Don't worry - USP grade and a lot of people here on ECF use it - won't turn you into a cow - I asked!

Obie is a large goat. He is Nubian/Boer cross. We are guessing that he weighs about what I do or 150 to 160 pounds. The Boers are meat goats and the Nubians are dairy goats. He was handled a lot when he was a baby so he is very friendly.

The little guys are Nigerian Dwarfs. Spot and Taffy. Spot is skiddish and doesn't like to be petted. Taffy has gotten better about being touched.

We got three goats because I thought three goats would be a herd.

Are they good pets, Cindy? These goats are all wethers so they are neutered males. An intact male goat reeks but apparently lady goats find that attractive. Go figure.

I like them.

They will eat all your roses if they get out of the pen. As a gardener, I don't appreciate them eating my plants so I don't let them wander the property without supervision. They are escape artists but we have had pretty good luck by putting up no climb horse wire instead of regular wire. We have had to fix the corners as they broke the staples and then the wires and now we have thick wire wrapped around the posts and we check it. Taffy has gotten out of the gate a couple of times by squeezing through a crack.

They will often use cars as toys to climb on. They can be a bit stubborn. You are supposed to worm them twice a year. They get shots in the spring. They have to have a block of sheep's salt with copper in it. Horses do not need copper so he gets a whole different salt block. You have to trim their feet and that is a two person job.

Well, Sandy...it's ultimately your decision, no? You can balance the range of motion you achieve, and whether you can live with that, against going thru the surgery again, and "starting over". Due to a ruptured disc in my neck (that rarely causes me any trouble), I have a decreased range of motion in my right arm. And it gets a little worse with each year that passes. It's not bad enough that anyone but me even knows it, but I hate it. I also prefer to live with it. They offered to do surgery, way back when, and my response was, "when I can no longer use my right arm, I'll start thinking about letting you operate on my neck." As you have just found out, surgery doesn't come with a guarantee, and a surgeons' mind-set is, "if you don't let me try, you'll never get any better than you are right now." They want to try. It's what they do; they trained a long time to be worthy. And they can be the best in their field, but everybody's body is different, and will have different results. It's a decision for you to make, not your bone doctor.

I figure I have a couple of months to see how I'm progressing, and even then, I don't have to decide on the operation at that moment. Tomorrow, I have another physical therapy appointment, and I'll discuss it with my physical therapist, too. I think what upsets me most is that I was working under the assumption that if I worked hard at physical therapy, I'd get full range of motion. Sort of like I could earn it. But life isn't fair, and sometimes all the hard work doesn't get us where we want to go. I should have kept that in mind. Meanwhile, working hard at physical therapy is my only chance to avoid another operation, unless I want to live with limited range of motion, and I have to see how limited that turns out to be. Maybe, like you, it'll be not quite perfect but not bad enough to make me think I need an operation.

Keep your attitude adjusted When I am tempted to think I don't have enough in life, I think about those poor widows in India, sitting on street corners and looking pitifully thin. Hey, I got a roof over my head, I get to eat and my Hubby adores me and I own a car. All things I have done without. Fortunately, I never lived on the street but I was close after my mean exhusband And I got divorced.

Sandy, just keep working that shoulder. Don't push it, but stretch the limits a little at a time. Above, keep up the PT until it feels as normal as possible.

What the happend to all of the MEN? I haven't heard from Dovahakin, Thread Killer, or Element lately. I know Blues is still recuperating, but awsum140 and I have to keep up with all of you young gals. Sometimes I laugh so hard, tears run down my legs.

Here is a Christmas Joke I forgot to post just to keep you all laughing:

Three men die in a car accident. They all find themselves at the pearly gates waiting to enter Heaven.

Upon entering they are ask to present something Christmassy.

The first man searches his pocket, and finds some mistltoe. The second man presents some holly, so they are allowed into Heaven.

The third man pulls a pair of women's panties out of his pocket.

Confused at this last gesture, the angel in charge asks " How to these represent Christmas?"

The third man answers "They are Carol's"

Do you have to worry about Obie using his horns if he gets stubborn and are they full grown?

Obie has never been a bad goat. One time, I bent over to pick something up in the pen and he butted me in the rump I turned around and told him he was a bad goat! He never did it again. You have to be careful around the horns because it would be easy to get bonked by accident if he tossed his head. They make pretty good handles for holding him when one of has to hold him and the other is giving wormer or trimming his feet. You can kind of drag him around by his horns but it is a lot easier just to bribe him by shaking a can with oats in it.

We have the dogs come into the pen and they hold the goats on the goat toy. The goat toy is a platform about three feet high, two and a half feet wide and 8 feet long. There are mobile home stairs we got at a yard sale on one end and a ramp on the other. They climb up there if there are strangers or strange dogs in the neighborhood and they take naps up there sometimes.

The dogs hold the goats and then we can work on them if need be. When the gate is closed, Obie runs over to the fence and shakes his big scary horns at the dogs but when the gate opens, he runs for the goat toy Goats are pretty smart as farm animals go.

The goats are probably about 5 years old so they are full grown. They still play on occasion by butting heads with one another and racing around the goat shed. Pretty funny.

I just got on. I had a my washing machine go out on me. Trying to find another for a couple of nights. Also helping the new members from time to time!!!!!!! A break for washers info overload!!!!!! (Like Now)

Fortunately for me if the washer goes out that is Hubby's problem. He's fixed it twice now. I said it was old but he said no way were we buying another one when he could fix this one. And he was right!

Fortunately for me if the washer goes out that is Hubby's problem. He's fixed it twice now. I said it was old but he said now way were we buying another one when he could fix this one. And he was right!

Well I tried to fix it. The problem is the agitator motor with the PCB board and a fuse. The motor with the PCB board cost $325 shipped.
So new washer for me!!!!!!!!

My washing machine experience involves dirty clothes, detergent and various other additives. I suppose I could fix it if it broke, but it isn't all that old so I doubt I'll have to. Now watch, I just jinxed myself and it'll "soil the sheets" when I do laundry on Friday.

How about chain saws? There's a nice manly subject!

Hubby doesn't vape so ECF isn't his forum. You could always go to the Arborist forum. That's where Hubby hangs out so he can talk about chainsaws and wood splitters and the best kind of wood to cut down and burn.
