They look in the correct order to me. Wonderful, 0mg! It'll look really special, I'm sure. Thanks for posting the photos, Tina.
I don't generally subscribe to the idea that people are responsible for the sins of their ancestors, but in this case repairing my mother's mistake has been a joy.
The first two pix were actually taken at the same time. After discovering what paint removal was going to entail, I concentrated on the back. Once I discovered that the damage to the original finish was too severe for an authentic restoration, I decided to go for an approximate one, keeping the black and grey color theme. Yesterday I was doing the black detail-work. It is waiting for the new leather handles. Then I will get the inside done. Then I will make a decision on the finish for the outside wood-work,
When we were negotiating the property part of the estate, my sister made me promise I would take good care of it. No problem.
Thanks, Tina.![]()

Do you notice that the landlords painted the sidewalk? I chose green for the bench and chair, so they would blend in. So they repainted the sidewalk red which contrasts with the bench and chair. He got a bit of red on the bench, and I got paint remover residue on it too, so I am going to have to repaint that. They look in the correct order to me. Wonderful, 0mg! It'll look really special, I'm sure. Thanks for posting the photos, Tina.

Have you seen, "The Host?" Good movie and great book! I have loved Sci-Fi since I was a kid. I think I read all the classic Sci-Fi books they had at the library! The original "V" was my favorite, I would write fan fiction about the characters in the TV series. I think I threw all those writings out, though.
"The Host" was a great book but I haven't seen the movie. I read the "Twilight" series as well. The movies were just ok. Sometimes I'm disappointed in how a book is interpreted for film. If possible, I would rather see the film before reading the book. If I enjoyed the film then I know I will love the book.
Good morning volties and a happy 4th of July! I hope the Americans on this thread have their flags out waving on this glorious day!
This is day one of the full on renovation office project. I have a couple of baseboards to remove, then I have to prep for painting. I finally made the decision to throw away the chair that was in here since my dog house guests a few months ago decided to use it as a toilet. I didn't want to buy furniture, but this is giving me the opportunity to do so. The dump pile is growing and I'll have to rent a little uhaul to get it all out of here!
I hope everyone has a great day. I have pandora on, listening to jazz while I work. I'll be on later. Enjoy your BBQ's or whatever you're doing today!
I don't know if you have read As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner, but James Franco is directing a movie based upon it. It should be quite interesting because the book was odd.
I'm not familiar with the title but I like William Faulkner. I'll read the book description on Amazon. I really enjoy stories with an unusual twist.
