Well Babe rules! Finding Nemo is a really great movie, But maybe some classics like Charlotte's Web and the early Land Before Time movies, Also look for Don Bluth movies they are awesome(All Dogs Go To Heaven and Thumbelina and a pretty hard to find one, Rock a Doodle) That's what I came up with on the fly... I still watch my favorite childhood movies:p

The Land Before Time movies are about five dinosaur friends who have many adventures and learn great things about life, like sharing and doing the right things, you know morals and such. But really the only good ones are like the first five or six... there are like thirteen or so out now and they got really childish for maybe toddlers or something. Here is a link to wikipedia.

Rave is probably recovering from her busy weekend so she hasn't seen this drawing yet. Would you guys like to critique it for me? I know it's kinda small but the original was small.

The main focus, yes but not the whole drawing. Why do you ask?

While I really like the drawing very much and it does stand on it's own, there are 4 very minor things I did notice that are different from the original . . .

    1) the white around the eye needs to be a little larger . . .

    2) white shadow under or on cheek area a little larger and/or feathered out . . .

    3) hair on ears edge . . .

    4) shadow or darker area behind the tail a little darker and feathered into tail hair . . .

I am using a tablet, so I don't have access to being able to point to the areas - so I hope it is understandable . . .

I understand the areas you are talking about. Thanks, those are easy fixes. I knew there had to be something wrong with the eye. I hate eyes. ;) I had hair on the ear but must have smudged it out when I did the background and didn't notice.

That's a really great drawing! I see a few differences, but I'm not sure if they really matter or if I'd even notice them if I couldn't compare the photo.

First, the tilt of your squirrel's head is facing down more.

Then, the curve between the back and the tail is not the same. Perhaps this is more important, since the bulge lower is for his hips, so it's a structural thing. There's a highlight below the dark spot coming from under his forearm that is from the bulge of that hind leg. That highlight and the contrasting dark under it shows the roundness of his hindquarters.

Even so, it's a great job, and better than I could do, I think. You are so talented!

    Thanks Sandy.

I'm not seeing the tilt of the head. Could it be that the forehead needs to bulge out more? I think I see the highlight that you are talking about but I'm not sure and the curve of the back looks the same to me. I did notice a couple other things while I was searching for that highlight. :p

    Good morning.

I based the tilt of the head on the line of the top of his face from ears to nose. The line in the photo is more horizontal than yours. But that doesn't seem so important to me, and to change it might mean some major changes.

I'm more concerned with the line that defines his back from his tail. From the spot just behind his shoulders where the back first meets the tail to his ...., your line is straighter. In the photo, it's more of a backwards C. That and the highlight and shading for the hind leg and hip make yours look flatter. I hope Rave will come soon. Maybe she'll see it, too and be able to explain better what I'm seeing.

Yes, I hope Raven will check in soon.

    Have some coffee.

I way over did the hedge trimming, raking and burning yesterday so I will be having Ibuprofen with my breakfast. I have two piles ready to burn later today. I would so love to have major yard clean up done this week. We shall see. I don't have to work this Friday so I can get as tired as I want to.

The trainer will be here at 9:30am. I am pretty excited.

Good morning, Lizzie. I'm sorry you are achy, but sometimes getting out there again for some light exercise will loosen you up.

Please give us a blow-by-blow description of your work with the trainer. I'm so excited for you! I want to hear about it all!

I am going to get Wiseguy out to the round pen for a good roll and maybe some bucking:)

Then I'll organize my gear out front - the cart, the grooming bucket and the harness. Then I will get Wiseguy out there about 20 minutes before the trainer will be here to brush him and clean his little hooves. I don't want to waste any time getting the harness on Wiseguy and working with the trainer.

    Good morning/afternoon,
I see what you are talking about with the tilt but like you said it would take some major changes and nobody is going to notice that when it's not side by side. I see where you are talking about with the back and the backwards C but I still don't see a difference. From his shoulder to his .... could be a little curvier though. I'll work on the highlight that I think you are talking about and then repost. Thanks for explaining it again. I know it hard typing a critique instead of being able to point to a spot. :) You've helped me see some shadow/highlight problems I hadn't noticed before so maybe it's what you are seeing.
