I'm thinking that it's maybe because the clearo is less "insulated" than a carto.

I did not think of that - I was thinking more along the line of surface area, but who knows - it makes my juices taste different than on the 78's. I will add - my tobacco and fruity flavors taste the best on the X2's, while my coffee flavors taste better on the 78's...

Good Morning Volties - Interesting topic - bugs. I put a border around my property - it keeps out 90% of the crawly kind - the flying kind are few (except wasp - got a lot of them) and we just deal with them if they get attached to the house.

What kind of border? Flowers? I read that marigolds repel insects, but I planted some around the house back when I lived in California, and still, those little brown ants invaded the house. We had a lot of them out there. Not so many here, and they don't seem to come into the house.

Naw, we use a border of lime and some bug stuff. The lime keeps out certain pests and the bug stuff others. I also have a underground border around parts of my property to block moles to an extent... Now my wife does have our property almost lined with flowers - we watch the birds and the bees everyday take lunch breaks in the flower beds... They really like bells.

One little trick I learned about ants. If you get them, sprinkle some instant grits around where they are. They will eat the grits, and then die. The grits expand in their tummies and kill them. Sounds mean I know, but they can really bite!

Mornin' Tina!!

Retriever - Sounds like a good plan. I've also been able to keep ants from invading the glider cage by smearing Vaseline on the legs of the cage.

Semi - Would you mind sharing what brand of "bug stuff" you're using? I've tried Ortho Home Defense Max with no results to speak of. 'Course - even "Max" might not be strong enough in my venue.

Rave, I use a granular product that I buy at a feed store. Because it is granular it releases slower with rain and last longer. The lime controls fleas and other pests also and helps with acidity in the soil... I put a 1.5 ft line around my property along the fence right before spring and again in the fall. My dog does not have fleas and my yard/house has no ants or roaches.

Nice! Maybe our local Tractor Supply will have something like that. Thanks Semi ! :)

So - Any big plans for the weekend folks?

For me - exciting plans ahead - more painting and caulking... Next week time to finish the kitchen floor and counters... Anybody wanna join. And Rave is going to install her baseboards as soon as she finds the stain... LOL...

 Oh, I found the stain. Even went as far as to bring it upstairs. That's as far as it went.

Sounds like me Rave. I have sealer in one room and I will get to it. I have paint in another and I will get to it. I just bought some 1/4" plywood that I will get to and I have to finish the shower stall that I was going to get to...

It is a good thing that my Wife is such a caring and understanding person - as long as I keep her spoiled she will stay that way too... :D

Right! I was thinking about how my cat, Tom, is less interested in learning language than a dog or a horse. Tom is very vocal, and he comes and meows at me to ask for something. Why is it that cats are "gimme, do me," and dogs and horses are more obliging, saying, "What can I do for you? or "What can we do together?" I think it's because in nature, both dogs and horses live in groups. They are more interested in interacting with others and are used to the give and take those relationships have. Cats, on the other hand, get used to living with us, but they are focused on their own needs, not on any kind of compromise. And we humans accommodate them. Sometimes I feel like the doorman for my cat,who comes in, wants some milk (his version of Penny's treats), and then wants to go out again. Or sometimes he comes in and wants to be petted or sit on my lap. But he doesn't want to sit on my lap if I want to cuddle with him; only if he feels the need to cuddle with me.

An interesting relationship has developed between Tom and the neighbor's cat, Jacob. Jacob comes around to visit with Tom. He's sort of skittish about me petting him, though he's become more relaxed about me, but he comes to the door mainly to see if Tom can come out to play, much like a little neighbor kid might with your child. Tom sometimes is home, sometimes out already. I inform Jacob of Tom's whereabouts, and see if Tom wants to go out to play. Meanwhile, I watch Tom and Jacob out in the yard, and Jacob follows Tom, who, like an older brother, saddled with the care of a younger one, tries to ignore him while Jacob tags along. Tom is generally not friendly to other cats, and Jacob is the first cat to come into his territory that he has not tried to mangle and kill. I think he finds Jacob so friendly and persistent, that he has given up being hostile and resigned himself to having a friend.

I love watching animals interact. I watch Penny and the herd of horses she's with, seeing who bosses who, etc. I often say to friends that it's better than a soap opera.

:lol::lol: Go Jacob! I'd love to know what goes through Tom's cat-brain whenever he sees Jacob coming . . . :D

Remember, Sandy: Dogs have masters; cats have staff. whatimnotontable.jpg

I have never met a fruit flavored vape that I liked, until now. I recently got brave and tried a couple versions (Blueberry Banana and another multi-fruit blend that has banana). I really really really love Banana!

If SI ever decides to expand their flavor offerings, I do hope some version of banana will be among them. :nun:

I think I can guess. Tom sees Jacob and says to himself, "Oh, here he is again. Sigh! Well, I'll just pretend he doesn't exist. If he gets too pushy, I'll tell him to back off. He will, but I know I can't actually get rid of him."

I'm so excited - My rose breasted grosbeaks have returned. They are starving from their migration and will eat from the feeder less than 3 feet from my knees as I sit on the deck. Sometimes I'll have a dozen of them chowing down all at once. It's all males for now, but the females will arrive in a week or so - After the males have established territories. Gorgeous birds but they sure can pack away the groceries! I'll go through eight to ten cups of sunflower seeds a day at this time of the year.
