Gawd, what the hell is wrong with people?!? What part of their brains are so damaged that they can dump or abuse or even just look the other way and contribute to the suffering of animals. I'm not being overly dramatic when I say it literally hurts my heart when those commercials come on and I see those shaking scared, sad, hurting, lonely faces. The news last night had a story about a puppy dumped along side the hiway, and as they drove off he/she was running to try and catch up. Had to be rescued. Who does that?!?!?! If you don't want them, drop em off near a vet or shelter. Geeeez!

Many people in this area drop them off near a farm. I know several owners of horse farms where I've boarded Penny that have to take in innumerable cats left nearby. Sure, cats are needed in a barn for mouse control, but how many? And then the barn owner has to deal with half-wild strays and try to catch them and get them neutered. They do it because they love animals, but it's a tremendous burden on farm owners who love the animals who are dumped near their barns.

Cats are awful good company, Raynes; very soothing and healing. And awesomely fastidious.

I'm finding that out. Well except for one that we are fostering for a local shelter, thanks to my husband Ronnie.I would have done the same thing though. This cat,her name is Millie,is a basket case. I wish I knew how to help her and any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I don't do artificial sweeteners, but working for Cornell Catering, we have to offer sugar and a variety of artificial sweeteners with the coffee and tea, and I find Splenda goes the fastest of them. What is it with this sweetener? Does it taste better? Is it healthier? I find that diet sodas often taste metallic, which I don't like. My defense is to drink regular soda sweetened with sugar if I drink soda at all. What about stevia? Has anyone tried that? What do you think of it?
Splenda tastes more like the real thing than any of the others, but can be bad for your liver in large quantity (because of the chlorine in it). NutraSweet causes severe memory loss in any quantity (among other brain disorders). Stevia to me has a weird licorice-like aftertaste that I don't really care for, but it's probably the safest one out there.

My diabetic mom used to drink a lot of Diet Pepsi and always got so frustrated and depressed when she kept forgetting stuff - she thought she was losing her mind to old age. I told her to stop drinking diet soda, and her memory (and brain function in general) improved within a couple of weeks.

We are big animal lovers here to,since we are very rural deer hunters are always dumping out their hounds after hunting season it makes me so mad I could literally kill. Last spring someone dumped a kitten out here to and how she made it to the house with our Rotties I have no clue. She's the first cat that I have ever had,I tried to give her to my Mom but she refused to take her. Now I'm glad she didn't Kitty,I never knew cats were so much fun.

Raynes - I've got a rather extensive chunk of property here which is completely forested. Most forests in central Indiana have fallen to the plow, but my land is ridged with steep ravines and cliffs and is virtually untillable. Which is why the locals come here to drop off their kittens and dogs when they aren't busy poaching my deer or morels or ginseng. One of the biggest problems is that the animals hunker down here because it is the only dwelling. They stake my place out and beg for mercy. Our county animal shelter has been closed for budgetary reasons. Other county animal shelters will not accept animals from outside counties. I am not in any condition physically or financially to provide for these strays, so it is left to me to find a home willing to take them in or foster them. People have no idea what kinds of burdens they bring on others with they dump animals. [end of rant]

Sure Semi,I wonder how that berry concoction that Optics is :vapor: tastes?

for a 30 ml. bottle, you'll need 20 mls. of base, PG/VG/nic calculated to make 30 mls. at the strength you desire. Then 1.5 ml of Lorann's lemonade flavoring, 1.5 ml. of vapor renu key lime flavoring, 2.5 ml. of Lorann's natural line blueberry flavoring, 2.5 ml. of Lorann's natural line pomegranate flavoring and 3 ml. of Lorann's tart and sour flavor enhancer.

Give it a try :)

Good Morning Rave... Every time you talk about where you live I get so envious. My wife and myself love to spend time in the peace of nature - that is why we camp so much and why we spend a few months a year in the philippines...

Well then these are for you Semi:

The first is my driveway. Probably charming only to me and very few others.

The second shows the creek as it spills over a natural limestone dam. It feels absolutely wonderful to lie down here in the shallow water and let it rush around you on a hot summer day.

Actually Rave, that kind of person doesn't really care about what kind of burdens they put on other people or who they put it on. It's all about them and only them. Feel sorry for them. They are hopelessly entrapped in the bondage of self. Their whole world is strictly in that narrow, empty space between their ears. They haven't got a clue.

Do I sound bitter lol.

Yeah - a little bit. But you also sound like you're reading my mind.
