Good Morning, Volties. Back from vacation.

Having a delicious cup of Kenyan coffee and some Freedom 24mg to get the day started.

Tried to catch up on all the doings but this is a really chatty bunch and I am afraid it is hopeless.

Sandy Su - How is your shoulder doing? I love having short hair. Best idea I ever head. Did you cut your hair? If you did, do you like it?

I had a wonderful vacation. I'll have to tell y'all more when I get the time.

Hubby has decided we need a shed for the firewood. Last fall we put in a wood stove. Loving it! Vacation isn't officially over until tomorrow. Off to help the Hubby on the big fall project. We have about a week before the weather turns colder and need to get as much done as possible.

welcome back.

i had my operation wednesday, and i'm home again now. i got my hair cut. i like it. it's not as short as i pictured, but it's curling up a bit now that the length isn't weighing it down. i can comb it myself and even put a barrette in to keep it out of my eyes. it looks better without the barrette, but it drives me crazy.

today the hoof trimmer will do penny's feet. i had it all arranged for the barn owner to be there this morning, but the trimmer phoned last night to say he couldn't do it saturday, and would 4:30 friday afternoon be ok? this is not the first time he has confused our appointments. he's a nice guy, and i like his work, but he just can't seem to keep his schedule straight. so now i have to let the barn owner know he's not going to be there at 10. she has already started using another guy for her horses because of this guy's perpetual confusion about when his appointments are. the other guy is probably not as skilled but he knows how to organize his life, and he's cheaper. only problem is that he's amish, so he can't drive to the barn and must be picked up and taken there or you can trailer your horse to him. why is everything so complicated? i'm not in the mood for it. i hurt, and i'm worried about healing well. i don't need unnecessary confusion now.

sorry. i'm grumpy this morning. but this afternoon i'll get to see penny for the first time since the accident.

Sitting down, facing forward.
what IS that?
How could you do that so early in the morning? Posting that picture, again! Now I'm gonna need to see a shrink

Good morning,,,,

Sandy Su, it's a creature called an aye aye. And Rave called it CUTE

oy,,,,,,,,,vicious headache,,,,,I hate waking up with headaches,,,,,,advil and coffee,,,,,,,must.have.coffee.

Awsum, I hear you on the car dealers,,,,,,we recently bought a new-used car for my husband,,,,,,,,oy kevalt. what a mess. I will need one in the next few years (but I refuse to have TWO car payments, so it would have to be a total disaster before I bought another one in less than 2 years),,,,,and I shudder just thinking about it.

This will be the first time in nine years we've had car payments and, boy, are we hating the thought. The choice was a "rag" or something decent. With what a decent used car costs, even with my son being a used car dealer (whew), it made more "sense" to by a new one, especially with the super low interest rate. Even so, we both hate the idea of a car payment. I'm happy with the "rag style since I normally don't drive a whole lot, by choice, but we wanted something a little nicer so we bit the bullet. At least it smells new and we can vape in it, guilt free :vapor:

Speaking of duds: I got my Nano's yesterday. Never did warm up to the CE3's. Out of the 11 Nano's that I ordered, 9 of them are really nice. The 2 black ones that I got slowly, but surely dumped all of their nicquid into my batteries. One of those batteries was one of the original unsealed autos from well over a year ago. The other was sealed. Both batteries may or may not be dead. We shall see. I don't have the ambition or energy to read the entire Nano thread. I'll call or email CS. Very annoying to say the least.

oh no :( it's one of the reasons I am leery of tanks, clearos, etc,,,,,,,,I don't have enough back ups yet to risk it :(

I'm sorry, Rave,,,,,,,,,

well, at least they have good CS!

there may be hope for the sealed batt! Not so sure about the unsealed one :(

Well, I've resuscitated the unsealed before, so I'll try it again. Some of these are like old friends by now. :)

how do you resuscitate them?????? (gooooooood job on spelling resuscitate! I don't think I could have  )

 I was the spelling bee champion at my high school back in the day. At that time, my high school had roughly 4,000 students.

Believe it or not, I flush them out by injecting rubbing alcohol repeatedly, and then blow them out and let them air dry for days. It has almost always worked for me.

Good Morning, Volties - Starbucks Anniversary Blend coffee and Country 24 mg for me this morning.

SandySu - Short hair is great!!! I wish I would have gotten shorter hair a few years ago. So much easier than long hair. Hope your shoulder heals up fast. I pay a small fortune [$45] for my farrier but he does generally show up when stated. And he is really gentle with my little guy. Oh, and he has worked with miniature horse feet before and doesn't mind and seems to know what he is doing. It will take a few days but your shoulder will be healing up soon. Don't over do it!!!!!!

Raven-Oh noooooeesss on the battery. Hope you can resuscitate it. I am so worried about running out of batteries that I now have one 650, 2 900's and eight 78's Hopefully I don't have to buy more for a long time. All my newest batteries are manuals.

The aye aye is really cute if you like vampires and goblins.

Awesom - Car shopping sucks!!!! Last time we went car shopping we headed to the dealers in Carson City. We got an absolute ..... for a salesman who told us he had to pretend to negotiate the price on the paper and he forgot to do that so he wrote some numbers down and crossed them off and then went to the office to ask them about the price. They wouldn't come down low enough [it was a used vehicle]. The third day of shopping various car dealerships, we went back to the Honda dealership. Yes, three long days of driving 60 miles to town and looking at and driving vehicles. They had a Honda Fit there that Hubby refused to look at. Only 24,000 miles on it. After looking around I told him, "Please just drive it once. It is in the price range we want to be in, it is like new and it gets great gas mileage." So, he drove it. The ad said $12K and the guy said $14K so I told him about the ad. We got our deal, our paperwork done and now we have a car payment. The first car payment we have had in years. The good news is that it gets great gas mileage and that helps with the car payment. We have two old trucks and an old Toy Forerunner. I don't mind old since we can work on them ourselves but the new car is cushy

Vacation is officially over. I have to clean a house and do a bit of grocery shopping. Off to feed the critters and get my buns out the door:)
