Glad to hear that Pomps is doing a little better, Raynes. It is an encouraging sign to say the least. I will bet Poms is kind of sore and stiff, think like how you'd feel after a car accident where you had no visible inuries. The next day is usually "I CAN"T MOVE!"

Hi Konstantine! How are things going for you?

Mama's new wheels...2011 Ford Fusion

Congrats on the new wheels Lilac, we dont have the Fusion here, but i sure do like that front grille!!!!

I have to say, each and every one of you here in "chit chat" are just wonderful people! I totally enjoy reading about the ups and downs, the tragedy and defeat, the uplifting, the photos, and the just plain fun posts. I am a terrible lurker, I can't even remember if I ever introduced myself (I blame the 70's for that). I guess I just felt the need to let you all know that I think you are all great and thank you for sharing so much. I wish I could think of some decent story to post, something, but I'm afraid I am just a boring lurker, lol!
I enjoy seeing your posts , Hi

Oh no ........... Are you telling me that people make an effort to do that? Once again, I fail at normalcy.
Rave I wont tell you how many times i clean my car. ROTFL, lets just say you could eat off it any day of the week. hehe

Hi Konst and Sandy :)
Raynes, sorry to hear about Pompeii. Accidents do happen so i do hope you have been easier on yourself. Eating some form of food , liquid or otherwise is a great sign, also it will help with providing him with the strength he will need later on. Any amount is better than none. Oh and dont forget, animals need reassurance and just as much as humans do. ((hugs))

Well Reptilr, all I can say is: If you lived where I do for awhile, and scraped the bottoms of your shoes a few times, you wouldn't be eating off of the floor of your car for long.

Preparing for the expected storm over the weekend. Lots of liquids, a full corral of batteries, CE3s and clearos and I'm set on that front. Oh yeah, just got back from getting another 5 gallons of gas for the generator and filled another spare propane tank, just in case. Some tracks show it coming into the Deleware Bay which would put me in the northeast quadrant, not the best spot for a hurricane or strong tropical storm. Next is clean the gutters and put the patio furniture away.

Yeah, Awsum, you might get hit pretty hard. I like those tracks that have it heading away from land and out to sea. My place could get a lot of rain, but I'm hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Good luck to you.

Thank you so much Awsum,I was trying to beat you to it this morning.
Pomps drank almost 15cc of tuna juice this morning. When I got up I couldn't find him.Ronnie said he got of his box on his own and off the bed so that's where we are.
However, I DID wake Dr Hernandez up to tell him the news this morning and asked him about the kidneys. He reassured me that Pomps was Ok surgical patients went 24hrs without food or water,Pomps is drinking so all will be well in that area, and he is still moving. That he is still alive means there is no bleed he's probably banged up.
I've got stuff I have to do today and I have to work tonight. I'll keep you posted as I can. Thanks again for everything

That sounds encouraging, right? He's moving and drinking.

Stay safe there, Awsum. I've been reading about this storm and one article said some areas could even get snow with this storm?

Yes, I heard that too, but I don't think it would happen where I'm at. The Poconos are anotehr question though with the added elevation there. Remember last year? We had snow on Halloween.

Yeah, if the storm tracks north over land, there is some cold air up there, Poconos and up. I do remember that snow, Awsum, because that was the most snow we had all winter.

Years ago we planted a bunch of holly bushes. They grow those red berries that make people sick. The interesting thing is that when we get into the frozen time of winter when everything is covered in snow and ice, those berries are a food source for birds. They will not eat them until they've frozen.

This last winter was so mild the birds never came and ate the berries off the holly bushes.
