Sitting down, facing forward.
If any of you caught the NBC Nightly News, they had a report about Hoboken, it's completely flooded. The good news is that they expect the water to drain out by tomorrow. Fox just had a video of NJ National Guard rescuing and exacuating people from Hoboken, so maybe Imagine got a ride on a six-wheeler or duce and a half. I hope so, it's too cotton picking cool outside with no heat inside!

Glad you're feeling better, Rave. Uncle, drive safely and have a good flight.

They just did a pan from a camera in Hoboken of New York City. It's dark from the tip at Battery Park up to, what looks to me like, about 30th Street, about where the Empire State Building is. The last time I saw anything like that was back in the 70's with the great power failure. Next worry for New York, the rats coming up out of the flooded subway tunnels, YUCK!

Hope everything is ok, are you sick? I got extra Xanax... :D

TRICK OR TREAT how do you like my sock MONKEY costume complete with fangs, and wings ? BTW did you know there was a new biker club in your area --yep called the Bull Rammers. Meet Bulls Eye a farmer bought him yesterday from a bull rodeo farm how do you like them horns? Oh yea and the other guy here is Rammin Diesel. His friends call him Dodge.
Just BTW you and me Officer they ain't too happy about their ewes and cows being so traumatized by your gang and the farmer is ticked off to ,your friends just about shut down his dairy farm.
I told Bull and Ram you didn't have no part in that fiasco that you loved animals, that you were raised by wolves (I left out that one of them "wolves" was the Taco Bell dog.). Good news is that you ain't got to worry about locking the door of the club house, there is no door now. Might want to tell your friends not to be doing any shooting Bull and Dodge are wearing bullet proof attire plus a coat of armor

Rave,I hope you get to feeling better soon.
My heart aches for all in Sandy's path, there is just nothing that I can say except that I care and know how you feel. We had a tornado come through over a yr ago now and wiped out part of Tuscaloosa. Please be careful and stay safe. Awsum I worry about the human rats as well as the animal rats.

Oh NO not the Monkey's again! I went through a whole bottle of Xanax that week and I'm out. I guess I won't be reading the forum again until I can get to the pharmacy because I know Rave will loose those beasts again . Why oh why did you have to bring up the Monkey's? I think you are all out to get me...

Hmm - sounds like someone is also a little - ahh shall we say ... Paranoid???
Oh I know - traumatized by the snow! That would do it - this early anyway.
So - idle curiosity: are you anywhere near Wheeling? Had a chance to take a short day trip to that area a year ago - mostly so I could say I'd been there! Very pretty out there!

Kicco,Perchies are gentle giants but its real easy to get hurt with them b/c they are so big. They don't recognize personal space like light breeds do. They are really smart horses though all draft horses are. I've gotten hurt with my drafts more so than the others when they were 2yr olds b/c they were awkward and couldn't stop then plow into me. These were my first foals to rescue and I had never been around drafts before.
Kola my avi is a Percheron x QH cross.
Those Perchies are my favorite of the draft breeds!
Gee - imagine that - getting hurt getting freight trained by a mere 1,000 pound baby ... will wonders never cease?!?!?!?!

My favorite for detangling manes and tails is Cowboy Magic -- the kind in the tube.
Hi Sandy! How are you doing? Been wondering about you! I have the spray bottle - originally bought last year to use on Beethoven!
Now I find I'm liking his stuff for the horses and me! Dying to try the Demineralizing conditioner (for me) and thinkin bout their 'poo. Just need some warm weather tho ...
I mentioned to my hubby about using it on horses - he looked like he misheard me at first - then said "I wouldn't."

Absolutely, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for our "family" over at the NJ store - I haven't heard anything about it, only that Imagine is currently stuck in a flood, but she is alright. :)
Don't be shy to ask any questions, I'll gladly help out - hopefully I'm a good substitute for a few days.

I'm keeping everyone on the east coast in my thoughts, and here's to hoping that everything will go back to "normal" (what is normal these days anyway?) very soon for you all!
Hi Cookie! Happy to meet you! Love SI! ( Umm-Normal is a setting on the dryer. )

Awsum: I heard there is a new inlet up there somewhere now ... don't recall just where they'd said. It always amazed me to see people rebuild in "wet" areas too. I couldn't imagine living in hurricane alley anymore than other's couldn't imagine living in Tornadic areas.

Really great to hear everyone (so far) basically survived. Really disturbing to hear about all the tweets of people "looking forward to looting" though.

Cindy: sorry - didn't know you had a birthday. Belated wishes for a bunch more Happy Birthdays!

He wasn't a baby, but that's how I recently got hurt: freight-trained by a 1000+-pound horse. I'm getting better each day, but it'll be a long time till I'm back to normal. It's not just the injury. My right elbow is very stiff and can't straighten out completely because of staying bent so long in the sling. I have exercises to do each day to limber up and strengthen, but they are limited till the break heals more. I've been going to a physical therapist twice a week.

I really miss not being able to even go groom Penny without lots of help and not much input from me. I tried using a shedding blade and brush last week to get a few spots of mud off her, but it wasn't the usual thorough grooming job I like to do. No way can I clean out her feet. I am not even allowed to drive my car yet! I'm such an independent person that having to be dependent for help for the littlest things irks me. However, that makes me more motivated to do things for myself, and I'm doing more and more. The other day I removed the cap from a fresh bottle of milk. I could unscrew the cap after someone broke the seal but not open it when I had to break the seal, and now I can. This is with my right hand, so it's getting stronger. I'm trying very carefully to balance doing more as I'm able with not doing harm to myself by getting too ambitious.

What's most aggravating is that I can't sleep through the night. I wake up uncomfortable. I have to sleep semi-reclining, and I'm using pillows to prop myself up. The pillows slide out of position, I slide down into a slump, and I'm sleeping with my body in what feels like a pretzel shape. When it gets too bad, I wake up and take more pain meds and change to a fresh ice pack on my shoulder. Then I can't get back to sleep again for a while.

But my legs are fine, and Pat and I have been walking every day. With the recent bad weather, we have stayed in, and I'm getting a little stir-crazy. I think being an active person will help me heal faster, but it makes inactivity all that much harder. I get very restless and want to get out there and lead a normal life again. I'm impatient to get well, and the upside is that'll make me get well faster, I think.

Anyway, that's my current status: doing well and suffering mainly from impatience.

Were you referring to Cowboy Magic? I think that's pretty safe. I've heard people use it on their hair with good results, too. I'd never use WD-40 on my horse!

Hi everyone. I am glad to see you're all here, and have survived.
A bit of news... my friend at work got her first SI order in. We went off and vaped together today. She likes it. It was quite cool vaping with some-one else. Well we have done that before when I lent her my old crummy back ups. But quite cool both vaping SI stuff together. Yeah!!

Oh hey - I'm fine everybody. It's amazing what a soak in a Jacuzzi and a bowl of split pea soup can accomplish. :)

My heart goes out to everyone with damage. I had to quit watching the Weather Channel cuz it was just breaking my heart. Blues thinks they'll be cleaning up debris for the rest of the week, and he has a lot of people helping.

Moonstruck - I'm still walking, although I wasn't back in 2004. I was told that I shouldn't count on getting out of that wheelchair. I generally require three legs to navigate, but I figure, if most critters can walk with four legs then I can manage with three. I have a whole laundry list of neuro symptoms, but there aren't any so far that can keep me from hiking these woods. I'm on SS disability - so I won't complain. It's the folks that have to continue to work with a disability that I feel bad for.

Glad you are feeling better Rave :) My hubby was diagnosed with MS in 2002. He also has good and bad days, now more bad than good I'm afraid, but like you, he's not a quitter. He really was the reason that I finally quit smoking after a 36 year habit. Second hand smoke affected him badly. He never complained about it though and was surprised when I quit. Thank God for vaping! I don't think I could have done it otherwise.

JoAnn - I would normally never suggest this, but I'll do it anyhow because I know that it could help. One of the reasons that I'm still vaping even though it has been over three years since my last cigarette is because nicotine helps to relieve nerve pain. Many of us here with neurological disorders use the nicotine to alleviate our symptoms to some degree. I tried reducing my nic level from 18mg down to 6mg and I was amazed at how much worse my MS symptoms felt. When I caught on to that, I found that when my symptoms are particularly bad, if I vape 24mg or even occasionally 36mg for just a few minutes, it provides some relief. I then readminister as needed. I understand that your hubby is a non-smoker and is probably not a vaper, but it might be worth an experiment when he is having a rough time.

Konstantine, don't be negative even though it's hard not to be!

Thanks for the coffee, Rave.

I had a little good news this morning. I got up and peeked out the window and the street lights were on, power is back on! The lack of multiple four cycle motors running at full speed all day and night is a welcome change. Kind of figures, I bought almost a 25 gallons of gas yesterday for the generator.

Hmmm, you are right!

I'm going to die LET'S PARTY! :D:D

Konstantine - you CAN'T think like that. What you think becomes what will be. You still have purpose and meaning even if you don't see it right now. You still have people who read what you say and care that you are hurting - myself included. All of the doors seem closed to you, but just hang in there. One will open for you.

Good morning all, we got the internet back but still no power, maybe tomorrow so they say. Thanks for the coffee Rave, I was up way too late last night and need all I can get. Awsum, glad to hear about your power just put the gas in your car. My Generac runs on Propane so I will just have to save the left overs for the grill. We had so much snow they closed the Blue Ridge Parkway which makes life very quiet up here, I love it. I'm waiting on the farmer from down the road to plow out the driveway and then I'm going out to assess the local damage. It's kinda weird only the top of the driveway has snow and the bottom half is just covered in leaves and small trees.
