Lizzie,I'm glad that you are thinking about getting Wiseguy a friend. He's as cute as a button and I'm glad that you are responsible with him and realize that even though he is tiny and cute he's still a horse. I'm grinning from ear to ear to hear that you are thinking about adopting one HOWEVER please becareful and take someone with experience in training along with you so you'll be sure to get one that is safe for you and Wiseguy. You'll also want a place to quarantine the new guy from Wiseguy just to be on the safe side for 4-6wks (or I would) and that will give you some time to bond with the new guy,and a safe way to introduce each pony safely.
Here's a tip -- if one approaches you with its ears back --pass it up.

Horses are magnificant animals, very intelligent but I'm actually terrified of them. I've ridden one once and was glad to get off. That was a long, long time ago. Looking at the picture of Wiseguy was a real treat but as you said, he is a horse and must be treated as a horse. He just looked sooo cute and cuddly. To me it takes special people to care for and provide for horses. I will continue to admire them from afar.

As for me, I'm definitely a lap-dog person... love to cuddle with my little lovebug Spanky. :)

I'm glad you like it. It looks really good but... only manual. It's all I can do to adjust to the manual X2. I really REALLY hate that button! and the iTaste has more buttons. Oh well, maybe by this time next year... when I've become a more mature vaporer.
JoAnn I just pulled my chrome X2 650 auto that I've had since Apr.,out of the desk drawer hasn't been charged in over a month and its working beautifully. Every time I think about experimenting with different equipment I talk myself out of it. I so want to try the Lambo but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Moonstruck I am so very sorry this happened to you and your neighbors. Sounds like there should be a LOT of lawsuits how dangerous and negligent can one company be !!! I'm praying for you and yours and for your neighbors.

Thanks, Raynes. Gas service has been restored to all but a couple homes now. And that's only because they are out of town & their gas will be turned back on once they return.

It was nice to have a quiet, uneventful day. :D

Hello Volties!

It's a beautiful day here and surprisingly warm. Just came back after running errands and walking Spanky. He loves to run through the leaves and kick them up in the air. With his long hair you would think he was made of velcro. Everything sticks to him. He looked at me so funny because I couldn't stop laughing at him. I had a time pulling leaves, twigs and other surprises out of his coat. I'm still finding some crunched up leaves on the floor throughout the house... and I thought I got all of it off him...

As for leftover turkey, I just have to make a big bowl of turkey salad. Love it with club crackers or on pumpernickel bread.

Will stop by later. Have a great day :)

I was thinking there might be some sort of coat conditioner that would repel those twigs and leaves that get in his coat. I did a very cursory Google search and saw Detangling, leave in conditioner with lavender & chamomile and I bet there are more products out there. There are lots of products for detangling horses' manes and tails, so I thought there might be something that would work on dogs, too, even though their haircoat is very different from a horse's mane or tail. Even if burrs do stick in a horse's hair, if the hair is coated with a detangler, it slides out more easily. I like Cowboy Magic best, but I'm not sure if that would be OK to use on a dog.

Moon,,,,,,,,WL doesn't use anything with diaeticyl or however you spell it,,,,,,,

sounds like the PG is making you sneeze,,,,,,when did you quit? I sneezed for months afterwards, and I think it was just SNEEZING to get rid of the gunk in my nose, etc,,,,,,

which butterscotch did you get,,,,I got the Loranns and I didn't care for it :( Letting it steep,,,,,might help,,,,,but next time I'm going for the other brand they have.

I know you and Moon are talking about diy but I've been sneezing a LOT for the past couple of days and was attributing it to seasonal allergies. Could it be a pg allergy? SI's juice I believe is 90pg and the other vendor that I get juice from is 70pg.

JoAnn, I haven't started DIY just yet. I've been sneezing for the last couple of months -- it started after I purchased juice from some new vendors. It's either the vg or something in the flavoring. Holly & I are assuming that it's most likely the vg since I previously vaped nothing but 100%pg with no problems ever. I did go thru some horrific coughing episodes for the 1st 8 mo of so of vaping -- I think that was just my lungs getting rid of 38+ years of gunk from smoking.

That said, over the past couple of years I have developed lots of allergies, probably a result of my lupus and/or weakened immune system. But this is the first time I've ever had allergic-type reactions to vaping. When I first started vaping, it was difficult to find any juices with vg; most were 100% pg. I think that was partially what got the DIY movement going back then.

Do you sneeze only while vaping? If so, I think you need to be suspicious of the pg, the vg, or the flavoring. Otherwise, it could just be seasonal allergies.

I would've thought that pulling something over your head would be simpler. A cape would have to close somehow, or else it would just blow away, or you'd have to hang onto it all the time. With a poncho, all you'd have to do is get your head through the hole, and it'll stay put. With a zipper, you'd still need two hands to get it started, and maybe to keep the bottom down while you're pulling up. I have a raincoat that velcro-closes, and the velcro picks up so much lint that you'd have to pick it clean for them to be able to work again. I think the slits would just allow for more cold air to come through. I vote for a hooded poncho - not too flared at the bottom, and long and heavy enough to not blow up like Marilyn's dress...then you can be cool like Clint Eastwood when you ride your horse! There's one on eBay right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Woman-Wool-Poncho-Harve-Benard-S-P-Mint-Condtion-/150947069359?pt=US_CSA_WC_Outerwear&hash=item2325257daf

...unless you go to fancy places a lot (like the opera).

Double faint! Wow! What a price!

Oh sure now I forgot half of what I was thinking catching up several pages ...
Turkey - Hubby likes to grind it with some "stuff" (onion? stir in Miracle Whip) and make "Turkey Pate"
I like to add a little liquid smoke ... horseradish ...

Cowboy Magic - it works fine on dogs too. I prefer Kelco DeMat - its pretty much natural products, water based silicone - think slippery floor if not on carpet ... It works so well - I use it to get the knots out of my own hair and on the horses! If you find it on Ebay - the name of the "ebay store" is "A Fortunate Dog" ... She's very helpful in recommending the correct Kelco product - as a prof. groomer.
(Ouch! Only one overpriced gallon ... Amazon has just 1 gallon right now too but I'd say contact seller - it's the pro. groomer!)
Amazon.com: Kelco DeMat Dog Grooming Spray Protects Coat Gal Size: Pet Supplies

Glad things are getting back to normal for you MOON ...

Raynes: SO very good to see you poppin back in here ... was intending to send you a PM. Thank you for sharing the Thanksgiving miracle.

Wow - I'm pooped! Worked til noon ... spent a fabulous afternoon w/ the kids. It's so incredible to me that the most difficult kid we ever worked with is the one who comes home to us and considers us his parents. I'm so happy for him that he has been able to chat some with bio mom. Sad for him that some things may not change - but I believe in miracles - so there is still hope!

JoAnn - have you already placed your selections for the free samples? If you like "tobacco" flavors - you MUST give "Tennessee" a try (I think it's on the list!) I'm beginning to think (for now) my tastebuds like it better than RY4!

Take care all ... enjoy these fabulous fall days!

JoAnn, the Half Moon poncho is interesting. Maybe, as Cindycated suggested, something going over my head would be easier. I've been trying to post an answer w/o much luck. Maybe this time?

Sandy... I've never bought anything from them but I had a wool poncho that looked exactly like the first one pictured on that website. Even down to the color except the inner lining was a plaid flannel or something like flannel.

It was soo warm, almost too warm that's why I thought something like that might be a possibility for you. If it's anything like the one I had, your arm and hand would definitely not get cold. Going over your head would be easier because there is nothing to fasten and a shorter length would make it easier to get in and out of a car.

One of the negative things about the one I had was it was weighty heavy.. like you were under a ton of blankets.

If they are not getting back to you, maybe that's a good sign to avoid them. Maybe you could find something locally, this would at least give you an idea of what to look for. Good luck in your quest. (I couldn't help it  ... the Lord of the Rings reference in your 1st post about looking for a cape...) I loved that trilogy! I even read all of the books too!

Here's a tip -- if one approaches you with its ears back --pass it up.

I initially had a trainer that I was working with to learn how to drive but she really didn't have much confidence in me, IMHO. She was 18 or 19 and a semi professional in the show ring. That doesn't mean that I didn't get a lot out of the lessons but she hasn't been able to get together with me even once since I bought the horse. She did show up with her dad when I told her I wanted to go see this particular horse. The owner drove him, then the girl, then me. They measured him, looked him over and looked at his pedigree. We discussed the pros and cons [not too many cons with this little darling].

Wiseguy was bought when he was 3 years old and only had one owner so she had him for 7 years. He is actually of good breeding and he was well loved but not spoiled. The dad, the girl and I all thought he was a very nice horse, so I bought him. I think he has been fantastic for me. He isn't a rescue but the lady really wanted him to go to a good home where he would be out and pulling a cart and be taken care of. She has been ill. He was really the kind of horse I was looking for and he needed a good home. I turned down a ton of horses that were stallions or very old or mares or who had bad habits. Even good horses often need homes and I wanted a pet I could enjoy.

A rescue may not be in my future. I'm older and not experienced with horses. I do want another gelding if I get another horse and one that is just a bit larger than the tiny little guy I have. That was his only drawback. He is small but actually quite capable of pulling me with the cart as long as I pick a decent road. Definitely no deep sand. On the other hand, Wiseguy seems pretty happy with his goat friends and is used to being the only horse. I will definitely try to get one or two other opinions from people that have horses before I actually take one home:)

Lovely story about your Grandpa. Thanks for sharing.

One thing I noticed about the actual formula portion of the calculator is that it does not allow for the composition of the nicotine, IE PG or VG based solution. In turn, that throws the amounts of PG and VG off in the actual mix when compared to a calculator that includes it. That may also make the cost slightly off, but it is probably quite negligible or non-existant, especially if you're using pre-mixed bases rather than working with higher nicotine levels. I know, I'm being a PITA, but that's just me. It does give you a good and quick cost estimate though and I'll probably use it when I try new flavors.
