Thanks so much Uncle !!!! How are you doing?

Fine - Just recouping from "My" trip up North last week . . . ;)
Takes a little time, but everything is good . . . :D
"You" . . . :)

Are you talking about YouTube? It's not you, since apparently you can see sites I suddenly can't. I'm wondering why I suddenly can't.

Could it possibly be your computer settings or just another ECF "snafu" . . . ;)

I clicked on this, and I have to brag. Bill, who's getting dressed for work in the bathroom nearby heard the first guitar notes and said, "That sounds like Stevie Ray Vaughan." Sharp! Bill loves the blues and knows a lot more about that genre and rock music in general than I do. In fact, when I met Bill, he's the one who turned me on to the blues. I never appreciated that before Bill.

So I asked Bill to make a blues choice, and I guess, with Stevie on the mind, he chose Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood (Long version!) - YouTube

Any friend of Stevie's is a friend of mine. Especially when he chooses Texas Flood as his request. Bill is a good man.

The interesting thing is, anyone who listens to Stevie Ray Vaughan, knows his sound just by hearing a little bit of any of his songs.

Good stuff. I have been teaching Wiseguy "circle" since I thought it would be a good cue for him and he would have to pay attention and not get ahead of me when we are walking. I can see where good technique of stoppimg, facing the side of his head and having him circle would be a great idea.
Actually Lizzie its best to focus on backing. Not a long ways but start there. See horses have a pecking order, backing Wiseguy is telling him that you are the alpha horse. Just back him three steps then get him to come up,I do that three times after that I rub on mine, it doesn't have to be straight just as long as he backs. If he rears have a riding crop handy if he's used to one and just point it at his feet.
If he's not used to a whip sack him out with it start at the shoulder and work down the neck until he's comfortable, whips are a training tool to focus their attention. It may take a little time if he gets frustrated just stop let him relax and start again. When you feel good about the lesson after you have rubbed him and lead him around some give him a treat but make sure you don't give it right after the backing exercise. Just tag that video and watch the handlers body movements. How they get their horses to back.
When you do the turns make sure you do both sides. This will also build suppleness.Horses are left or right sided just like we are.

Help! What's going on? This is another one on YouTube I can't view! Why is this happening? Any ideas? Do I need to join YouTube or something?

Sandy, I can only assume that you are having difficulties because of the Adobe Flash Player. You might need to upgrade it to the current version.

Well, I have a burn pile set up but forgot the matches so here I am sitting at the computer instead of getting work done:)

I'm taking it slow and easy today since I am really sore and tired from over doing it to get the house ready for the appraiser. Frankly, the appraised value was depressing but since we love living here and aren't trying to sell, I guess it really doesn't matter:) According to that darn bank, we should be getting our new low interest rate no matter what but having said that the bank also has 2 more approval steps to go through so ... I don't trust the bank but I do think we will get the loan approved for the new lower rate.

Have a great day, Volties. Time to get at least a little bit done around here!!!

Here You Go "Sandy" . . .

Thanks, Uncle. Now, why could I see it when you posted it but not on YouTube, and why are so many YouTube videos suddenly unavailable to me? I know you're more tech savvy than I am, but sometimes long-distance helping is hard. If I can't solve it before Christmas, I'll be visiting my brother who is my computer guru, and maybe he can figure it out.

Look at the bright side. If your appraisal was low, it means lower property taxes. Right?

Rabbit I feel your pain. I've ate salmon, cheerios, fruit until I feel like I'm growing gills, work all night,go to the gym come home, sweat with the oldies and then try to be a human pretzel. Your Dr. didn't tell you to start exercising?

She ask about exercise, but I do a lot of yard work, and I only weigh 160 lbs, skinny old dude. I love fish (wife does not) but I also love bacon, pretzels, and SALT  (which I know I need to cut down on). Always ate anything I wanted all my life, never gain weight (wife hates that). Anyway, I have been checking my blood pressure and it is going down to almost normal now. It is borderline high, so nothing to worry about unless it shoots up. Thanks for asking.

PS: I am going to have tunafish on toast for lunch, like a good boy:laugh:

We really do have low property taxes and i think it would cost us more to rent than we pay on the loan. Unlike rent, the loan has an ending date. And, I have the pride of knowing I designed and implemented the landscaping, the greenhouse, the veggie garden and the sheds. We get to have pets like goats and horses. I'm still debating on chickens. Love fresh eggs but I am afraid I'll never get to go out of town if I get too many pets going since no one will want to feed that many pets:)

Hubby fenced the entire five acres when we first moved here. The trees are getting bigger. We even get a little shade from them now.

We are pretty proud of the place.

Nevada was hit really hard during the Great Recession. Home values were ridiculously high and Hubby and I knew that. That is why we sold our place in a town and bought out here. We knew we could afford a large garage and the fencing and the landscaping, have a bigger home and still owe the same amount here that we owed on the house in town on the day we sold it. Basically, for the exact same mortgage we get a whole lot more of what we wanted. And you can't really put a price on peace and quiet and neighbors that are pretty far away from you.

I'm fine Uncle thanks for asking. Uncle do you still do grief counseling or private counselings?

Well - Yes, I still do both actually . . .

Long Story short . . .

As a volunteer, I created and run a "Bereavement Support Group" for our local community center for the past 9 years - However, it is not a typical type of Support group in any way.

Matter of fact, it is the first "Bereavement Support Group" in the World that I know of, since there is no one reason (Death caused by Cancers, HIV/AIDS, Heart Attacks, even Old Age, etc) for people to come . . . Nor is it limited to a specific Age/Gender/Family Relationship/Marital-Partner/Religious-Cultural Affiliation . . . What is different also, all participants must agree to take an active role towards understanding, accepting, and learning how to deal with their personal feelings and emotions - in particular about DEATH and the Aftermath so that they can regain back their "Verve for Life" . . . In addition, I have an "Open-door" Policy too - Come when "You" NEED To . . .

The only limitation and/or requirerment - if you can call it that - is that the Support Group is for People who are involved in and with the "Gay Community" . . . including Both Gay, Straight, Bi-sexual, Transgendered, and/or Questioning Individuals; Men & Women a like; Partners/Wives/Husbands, Family Members - Mothers/Fathers/Sisters/Brothers/Other close relatives, etc., and Friends & Extended "Family", etc. . . . Especially since there is nothing else available other then this group around to discuss and possibly address the special issues that arise with their personal love loss . . . especially if someone is GAY.

And - on a very limited bases, since I do not charge anyone - I sometimes do assist some individuals as a Counselor/Advocate . . .

I envy you :p. I always wanted about 5 acres for a little farm (no animals) just crops. I only have about 1 acre now in a suburban atmosphere, but I normally plant a 75' X 75' garden with all sorts of vegies. Nevada is such a beautiful state, and I also like Colorado, but the winters are much harsher out West than where I am on the East Coast so "IF" (Big IF) I ever move, it will most likely be South to Georgia or Florida perhaps with more land.

A 75x75' garden is impressive:)

Our veggie garden is two 40'x100' plots with a 10' wide pathway down the middle. We have wide pathway all around the outside of the garden, as well. I wanted it to be easy to get a wheel barrow or even an ATV into and around the garden so that I wouldn't have to work so hard at hauling produce and supplies. We have the ability to drive the truck and trailer in if we want to off load some manure.

We had a 60x125' but we wanted just a little more grow room and the pathways. I also planted a silver buffalo berry hedge all the way around the garden so that we could get some protection from the wind when I changed the veggie garden to this configuration a year or so ago. Starting this year the hedge should start giving us some protection from the springtime winds that we get here. This is a pretty big garden for two people but we enjoy it and get to grow a variety of items including 8 or 10 kinds of melons, squashes and corn which take up a lot of room.

We grow all our veggies and our landscaping on drip lines and have a pretty elaborate drip system to accomplish our goal of shade and wind protection and lots of good eating.

Sitting down, facing forward.
The drip irrigation system is one of the best things I ever stumbled onto. I've used it for two seasons now and the water consumption has dropped to about ten or fifteen percent of what a sprinkler system would take. It's easy to set up to work with the layout of the garden as it changes from year to year and bringing it in for the winter is just as easy. I'm only growing in a 30x30 garden, but it works really well and I'm thinking about installing more in the rest of the flower beds.

Lizzie I found this for you,or for anyone else who wants to see it. This is a western horsemanship halter class,I picked this b/c its a good demonstration of how horses read and respond to body language. The way the handlers move their horses around is the EXACT way a mare moves her foal around, or the lead mare establishes she's the boss. Anyway I hope it helps.

Education continues today. Did you participate in these as well? I like! ;)
