Great News Folks!
Jon Hammar, Marine jailed in Mexico, to be released from prison today

According to Fox News, Joh Hammar's father received a phone call last night indicating his son, a Marine jailed in August for attempting to take an antique gun through Mexico on his way to Costa Rica to go hunting, was to be released and taken to the border this afternoon.

If this actually happens, it will be a blessing. Jon Hammar , 27, joined the Marines and deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq before receiving an honorable discharge in 2007, and serving another four years in inactive reserve. He deserved better than what our country has done for him (seemingly nothing). His parents hired a Mexican lawyer who could not get anything done for 4 months and finally resorted to Fox News and Bill O'Rielly to bring this event to National attention, which I believe is the true cause for his release.

Yeaaa! Thanks for the update. I've been following the story and was watching when Bill O. told the mex govt they better release or else. Go Bill!! :)

Oh maaan! That was great ---- And I needed that. Thanks!! *still chuckling*

Okay - Here's the Bluesman update. Sorry I've been remiss, but everything was kinda still up in the air.

Thursday, Blues had his surgery (double bypass). Looks like it all went well with one hitch. When they restarted his heart, his rhythm was "off". Dunno if that's supposed to just kick in to a regular rhythm or not, but they need to keep an eye on it.

This morning, he had a transient ischemic attack. That's a mini-stroke. It temporarily slurred Blues' speech and numbed the right side of his body. The doctor said those symptoms lasted about 20 minutes and now have passed. He seems to be normal now. They will need to maintain very close observation and take precautions to avoid further problems. It is not rare to experience a TIA after heart surgery, but they do not want Blues to suffer a stroke.

Frankly folks, I'm freaking out a bit because I can't be there with him. Please continue to send your positive thoughts and prayers his way.

:nun:

Thanks for the update on Blues. Been lurking and praying for him.

Happy Solstice to everyone! It's officially winter now, and it came blowing in thru my area, that's for sure. Not so much snow, 2 inches or so (so far, lol) but the wind! Yikes!

Still sending a blanket of healing to Blues. Rave, thank you for letting us know how he is doing. In fact, sending out the healthy, happy, safe vibes to everyone here.

Oh Uncle, what a photo! I think I found a new "happy place" to visit!! Thank you, you find the best stuff!

Yep...not much snow but windy and cold in my part of MI, too. Winter is here, thats for sure.

Boy! ......... I do have plans to get a couple of mini novas. From what I've seen, they really look good on X2's and egos and they can really be dressed up with some pretty drip tips........

1. Make sure you get an original "Vision Vivi Nova or Mini Vivi Nova, not a clone.
2. They have several different heads with different Ohms.
3. I bought one and tried in with each of the three heads. I could never get a good taste from my favorite juices, not sufficient flavor, taste or throat hit. TONS of vapor however.
4. Stick with Clearos, Nanos, or T3s.

Just my :2c:

Not going back to cigarettes, ever! I would like to eventually end vaping, but for right now, I'm enjoying it. I don't carry a purse and sometimes run out of the house without my PV. Then I have to stop at a gas station and get whatever ecig dejour they have. I've pulled out my little messenger bag and carry that to work. I bought the nice volt yellow/black case that holds more than enough for the day. But it's huge and don't want it clunking around on my belt loop or try to stuff it in pockets.

I started out with V2, so I have a bunch of their batteries both auto and manual. At least everything is plug and play with the SI stuff. I like the X2's because they don't look like a cigarette. The cig lookalikes drive me crazy because I don't want to be associated with smoking any longer. I don't have to explain much when I show people the X2 setup that think I'm smoking.

I'm thrilled about the T3's. That will keep me happy for awhile!

Glad to hear that!! May I suggest getting a lanyard when you are going out. That would keep it handy and not easily forgotten. Also SI carries the small keychain cases that really hold lots of extras without being big and bulky. That's what I do when I'm running errands and the X2 on lanyard makes it handy while driving, of course with one of my autos... don't want to fiddle with a button. ;)

At least you plan on staying on the right track. :thumb:

Thanks for this update Raven. Blues was and still is in my heart and prayers. He will recover, getting stronger with each passing day. Please don't neglect yourself through all of this. Blues wants you to take good care of your self too. Then both of you will have all the time in the world to enjoy each other's company, especially some place like in Uncle's picture. That would be so wonderful.

Boy! What a jump!!! Let us know what you think of it. This is not in my immediate future though, too expensive! I do have plans to get a couple of mini novas. From what I've seen, they really look good on X2's and egos and they can really be dressed up with some pretty drip tips.

I know that is not part of your plans. :)

Yesterday I got two mini novas in my vapemail. The first thing I did was replace the drip tip in one  and then fill it. Wow, what a vape!!! I'm using it on a mini spinner but tried it on an X2. Works great on that too. Even with a sleeve on the X2 there's a gap where the adapter is, but it still looks pretty good. Now I'm waiting for the SI T3's to get here. They're going to look great on the X2. Funny how our tastes change; when I first started vaping I hated the fat batts and now I really like them. Still like and use my slim batts though. :)

The novas are for the Provari. This is to see if I like them. Got the t3's on the way for the X2. I wanted a vvmod. Trying new things.
I'm also trying out different juices and vendors for juices. Eventually getting adaptors. Then comes the DIY. (Been reading and still not understanding = HEADACHE)

When I do try the mini nova, I'll probably only use it on the twists and "in-the-near-future" mini spinner. Getting a sleeve & pretty drip tips to improve the looks. As for use on the X2's, um... don't know about that... My exposure is less then favorable about using an adapter... but of course will try it out.

I agree with you on the adaptors (have not tried one yet). I keep reading some adaptors are not good and others that work good.
Trying to do research on that and take the plunge!!!!

I won't be using the mini novas on the X2, just had to try it. I use cartos and X2 clearos on my X2s, but have high hopes for the T3.

I have a smaller case from V2. I usually try to keep a disposable in the car for emergencies. I can't figure out why I forget my PV, but never ever left the house without my cigarettes! Guess I need to make a new routine!

Might give a lanyard a try. Thanks for the tips!

OK, Volties, I have had my little afternoon nap and thought of another of my favorite stories. I just hope I don't get thrown off the forum for suggestive jokes:

Once upon a time there was an old Scottsman who played golf everyday at St. Andrews by the Sea. One day he hit his golf ball over the cliff and it landed on the beach by the waves. When he went to retrieve his golf ball a large wave swept him out to sea and he landed on a small island just offshore. Every day he tried to wave at people that he could see in the distance playing golf, but nobody saw him.

One day out of the ocean swam a beautiful Scotish Lass wearing a skin tight wetsuit with a zipper all the way down the front, who exclaimed she was there to rescue him.

The old man was thrilled. He said "Oh Lassie, I have been on this little island for 6 months eating berries and drinking rain water. Bless You girl.

The maiden then started to unzip the front of her wetsuit and continued down just below her breasts and the old man could see that she was wearing absolutely nothing under it. She pulled out a cigar, give it to the old man and lit it for him. The old golfer said "Oh Lassie I haven't had a smoke in 6 months, this is wonderful !"

As he puffed away, the young maiden zipped her wetsuit down to her waist, and as the old man watched in wonder, she pulled out a bottle of Scotch Whiskey. The old man was astonished. As she poured him a glass of Scotch he exclaimed, "Oh dear Lassie, a good cigar, some lovely Scotch Whiskey, and being rescued by such a lovely young woman, what more can I ask?"

The maiden then proceeded to unzip her wetsuit down below her naval. As the old man nearly dropped his cigar and choked on his whisky she said in a sultry voice, "Do you want to play around?"

The old man yelled "Of course, Lassie bless you, I can't believe you have a set of golf clubs in there!"
