The way things are going you don't have to read it, just look around. A Michigan woman went to jail because she refused to have a "smart meter" installed on her house.

Thanks, Awsum, for bringing this to my attention. I'm not sure how dangerous smart meters are, and I read up a little on it, and no one else seems to be, either -- see Smart Meter Wars | EnergyBiz -- but they certainly shouldn't jail people for objecting. I think the local police just didn't know what to do. Sort of like a parent with a defiant teenager. Do you just let it go, maybe provoking worse defiance of the law later, or do you come to blows over it? It's something every parent has probably had to deal with, though not to such extremes, possibly. And as I read, I thought of other questions, like the hours I spend by my computer, which is not plugged in to the Internet but receives its signal wirelessly. And cell phones, which were mentioned. And all those other wireless devices people use. Might there be a cumulative effect? And, even if some of the radio transmissions are sporadic, such as using your microwave oven, might the smart meters be transmitting more frequently or constantly? And how many people does it really affect? There are people sensitive to all sorts of things, which doesn't mean we should ban their general use, if the percentage of people is small. Some of this may even be in your list of overprotecting people. I've heard of cases where people who lived under power lines had problems, and others had problems with those huge windmills on mountaintops that generate wind power. People can believe any problem they experience is from something like that, when it might just be seasonal allergies or whatever. Till studies are done, no one knows.

So the question is, should we go ahead with stuff that could possibly be a safety concern for some people? For everyone? Should we let this stuff happen before scientific studies have been done on the safety? Is this a bit like the current controversy over vaping?

JoAnn, I just ordered the Spinner, and a T3 to see if I like them better with the Spinner than I do the X2's. Now when I get this Spinner what settings do I use for what? I'm assuming dessert and fruit vapes are vaped at lower settings and that tobacco vapes are vaped at higher settings. What about menthol? Also do you change settings if you are using cartos or tanks?
I can hardly wait to try the Spinner. If you like it better than the Ego it HAS to be good !!! Thanks in advance for the help!!!

I can't seem to get past Sinnamon in X2 clearo. It's still going strong! Haven't run out of charge yet... maybe I should put it on charge before it totally rans down. As of right now, this 900 has gone 24hr set at 4.0! Ok... I just stopped using it and it's on the charger now. A charging note: It screws in like the twist but the button on the spinner lights up very bright white... the light on the charger flickers red/green, mostly red... like a pulse. When it's fully charged the charger light will turn steady green.

I immediately ordered another spinner yesterday, 1300 stainless. Imagine posted a picture of the different size spinners on the SI thread announcing the spinner. The 1300 is very close in size to the 900 but it's a little fatter. Not nearly as long and skinny as the 1300 X2. I like that very much! A cute little fatty!

As for voltage settings per flavors, that would be your personal preference. My general way of thinking would be to start low and work up gradually. Find your sweet/favorite setting. I much prefer top coil warmth over bottom coil coolness. I will just have to experiment if I can tear myself away from the Sinnamon. Thanks for recommending this flavor by the way. This Niquid's Sinnamon is delicious and true.

Isn't that how we all wore our skate keys? We lived on a street paved with tar, which was really smooth for skating. When I was 12, we moved, and the new street had small COPYRIGHTDMCA in the tar, which was rough. Boy! Was I disappointed!

Yeah! Not to mention tearing up your knees falling on that stuff if you had on shorts. At that time, would just jump back up, wipe the blood off my knees with my dirty hands and keep on skating. Looking back... it's amazing that I didn't get an infection from doing that!

Hi, Uncle. Sixty degrees is nothing. We're scheduled for 9 degrees tonight! Isn't that why you're living in Florida rather than the Northeast?

Today, it snowed gently when I woke about 7 am, then a bit heavier, then less, then it stopped midday, so I went shopping, and almost got home before it started snowing again. We're supposed to get another inch of snow tonight. I think Sunday's supposed to be nicer -- high in the 20s -- so maybe I'll go visit Penny.

I must apologize for intruding:

I lurk - a lot - but I don't want to intrude in places I'd not be welcome. I'm not an SI user but that has nothing to do with SI....

I am, however, drawn to this particular thread.

I've been a huge fan of both Blues and Rave from elsewhere and it has been a bit of a joy to find them back here. But... I don't want to end up butting in to places where I'd not be welcome.

I've discovered all kinds of rather interesting things about horses that I never knew before (when I was taking riding lessons, I was stuck with the hugest horse in the barn and she really hated me - but we worked it out).

I once had a cat (the greatest cat the world has ever known) that sat atop a post on Halloween. Nearly twenty cats on the ground in the leaves below him scared the crap out of every little kid that came to the door. He sat there and demanded pets - well, suggested....

It's your forum... At this point, I wonder if I'd be welcome......

1. I wonder if that goes for PayPal, too. Most people use a credit card when purchasing online. What alternative is there? I guess some places, you could send them a check, and once they get it, then they mail out the stuff. After all, that's how they did it in the mail-order days of yore.

2. I thought smokers already paid a higher premium. Maybe it was lower than 50%?

Up until recently, I don't think smokers were paying higher premiums for health insurance. I believe this is why insurance companies are now trying to lump all forms of nicotine into the smoking basket. It is a money maker for them. They are trying to up their already outrageous profits and bonuses for executives to an even higher level.

I think it is outrageous to not have every American covered by some sort of health benefits. I also think that the current health system is so bad that I don't know if we can fix it.

Thanks so much for the help and advice.

Omigod! Should someone ever be unwelcome here, I'd like to know the reason why! Of course, you're welcome, and I've noticed you Liking things every so often, so I'm glad you're enjoying the Voltville thread.

Since I'm a horse fanatic, I'd love to hear about the things you learned from riding lessons. Some of us have horses, and we learn a lot from them, but there are always new insights. No one knows everything. So please don't feel shy about sharing. We'd love your input.

I agree, and I think Obamacare is trying to fix that, though it's not going to be perfect or maybe even as good as health care in some other countries. However, I remember some years ago, someone I met said her mom was coming to the US from Canada for a hip replacement because she could get better health care here -- and pay for it. So I guess not everything is wrong with the system -- it's just not perfect.

That is true that if you have money, you can get any kind of healthcare you want in the US but many rich people with lots of healthcare are the worse for it. The healthcare system needs to have integrity built into it but it seems like it doesn't. Someone being willing to give you whatever drugs and surgeries are available might not be the right thing to do for you.

It is probably true that we cannot afford to give every American what they want or think they are entitled to but basic care should be available to everyone, IMHO. Probably easier said than done.
