TOC - TheOnlyCindy - What's not to like? Stick around, have some coffee.
1st Officer - Great that you lost weight. Good for You!
I need to call Great Basin Equine and see when they come out to do vaccinations in our area.
I need to see if they have horse shots available at the feed store. There are no actual goat shots so I am sure we have been using horse vaccines and that is probably the cheapest way to go - buy them and do them ourselves. Hubby also gives the dogs their shots. I don't like needles so I just hold them and don't look
For the horse I would like to have a professional check his teeth and give him his shots. They can probably tell me if he is close to the proper weight, as well.
It's good to have the vet out at least once a year to check your horse, but body weight can vary more often, so using this method to see if your horse is a good weight really helps. http://www.owencountyhorseandpony.c.../equine_body_condition_score_presentation.pdf A basic rule of thumb is that you can't see the ribs but you can feel them when you run your hand over the horse's sides. Of course, with lots of shaggy winter hair, sometimes the ribs can be hidden when they would show on a summer coat.
Also, it's good to discuss deworming with the vet. Do you deworm every 2 months, or are you using the latest method, which is to do fecal exams and only deworm if the horse needs it? Using fecal exams is better, because worms are becoming resistant to dewormers, and if you use them less often, only as needed, then resistance is less likely to be a problem.
Hi rabbit, i have no idea, they sure got no better and on top of that i fainted today at the warehouse.
I noticed a while a go when i put pressure on myself, lifting something heavy etc my head blacks out and i faint for half-one second.
Today it was worse, have no idea maybe blood pressure, lack of vitamins or who knows maybe i'f i'm lucky, cancer.

Kon, I think you need to see a doctor. Maybe you're just not eating well, but it's worth checking out. Fainting is not good! I hope it resolves soon.

We have dewormed the horse with Ivermectin. You have to be careful what product you use with miniature horses there is one product that has tight tolerances and so it is recommended that you not use it.
The goats and the dogs we deworm twice a year. The horse was dewormed when we got him and then again in the fall. Every two months seems like it is often. I haven't done the fecal look at worms as of yet. Maybe I'll talk to the vet about it.
I'm on my way for my CT scan this afternoon and hopefully will stop back in later.![]()
