Anyone know where to get textbooks for cheap? I don't mind if they are used and abused, don't want to spend 400$ for books this semester.

google for etextbooks too.... can probably just get a cheap download for your PC, laptop, random generic ebook reader...or even iphone/ipod/ipad devices....

Heh, I got to re-live the depression with my dad. He was older when I was born but I recall saving the ketchup packages from McDonalds and helping him squeeze those out into our ketchup containers.

The man even washes out paper towels and reuses them. My last visit we did that. Just about everything has at least 2 uses beyond its original use. It's actually pretty amazing.

Yeah my grandfather used to do that with paper towels also. Would never throw anything away. Any time he went into a restaurant he would leave with pocketfuls of anything.

Heaven forbid you left anything on your plate, because he would eat it or pack it up, "Because you never know when your next meal is."

I don't even want to think about what he went through but I know at one point he worked 3 jobs.

Sheesh!! It is 10: 30 here. The kids have been in school for hours and I am still watching the Disney channel!!! What the heck is wrong with me lmao????

I think you must be watching Hannah Montana to figure out that wig trick... *poof* a whole new person.

Pamela, nice to see you, stranger!

Sensay.. not sure what all the sharting is about, but umm, who's cleaning that mess?

Missy.. have you tried a netty pot? I haven't, but my husband swears by them (after he disinfects the sink *gag*)

you guys with your depression stories are funny.. I am glad that isn't an era I had to live through!

Its a Motorola Droid X. It has a 8 megapixel camera, and a 720P HD camcorder built in. I like it.

Buddy of mine had a boa named Primus. He was about 7ft. long. Damn big snake...

ugh are you kidding? I've been singing "Ordinary Girl" all the time because it gets stuck in my head, because it's been Disney all.. summer.. long... Suite Life on Deck... I think I know all their names now. I hum the theme songs while I do dishes and vacuum. It's terrible! I am CRAZY jealous that yours are back in school already. Mine don't go back til the 7th

my daughter watched Backyardigans when she was little, and Dora.. ugh, I hate Dora! My son, now those were fun cartoons! Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Lab, Sponge Bob, Rugrats, and Ed, Edd and Eddy (have THAT theme song stuck in your head!) To go with the cartoons, he had all the video games to go along with them

I collect amber and spruce colored depression glass!

My mom has a ton of that spruce colored stuff as well as some blue depression glass.

Coolest thing my dad brought out once was some sort of crockery pot. It was his grandmother's and was used for making homemade sauerkraut. It was stamped and everything. IIRC, it was made around 1870.

Sad thing is that thing STILL stank. I'm not sure you could get that smell out.

My boy goes back tomorrow, and ive been tryin to get him up for hours .. as it is after 1 in the afternoon here! he will never go to bed tonight, and he is a bear to wake uo in the morning!!!!!! omg.. i so dread this!!

Heh, it's ok Mom, he'll just sleep through the first five hours. It's not like he'll miss much on the first day.

Plus, I'd wager he'll be pretty stoked to see all the other kids at school. I'd be more worried about the days following.
