And one of the best pieces of advice my dad gave DH & I 15 years ago over a job offer that would require us to move: "Remember, they can't pay you enough to do a job you hate" - and he was soooo right.
And about your mom: Now I want to adopt you! I joke all the time that we're not raising boys - the world has enough boys - we're trying to raise men. And I'm trying to raise men who will make my future daughter in laws have to like me because I did such a good job - since we all know THEY (the DIL's) will be the ones to pick my nursing home!
So do you all want to hear a bad joke the ds#1's teacher told in class? I'll warn you. It's baaaaad.

That was very out of character for me but PIF seems like family to me.
I promised my dad before he died I would always take care of my mom.
It was my pleasure and I don't regret anything except I spent too much time working. Should have spent more time at home.
