Today, I ressurected a very old and underused IBM thinkpad. I've been trying to turn it into something I could actually use for the longest time. But no matter what version of windows I put on it (Even freaking '98) it always seemed to run annoyingly slow. But today, I decided why not Linux? So I spent most of my morning getting Linux Ibuntu Studio set up on this thing and voila... Perfect geek laptop! Runs like a dream!

I still have an IBM 380 - still works - running windows 98. I just gave it to the kid that works for me for games for his kid.

It's amazing what happens when there's an economic downturn that effects a lot of folks. I've noticed this one as well.

Of course, I've also noticed that there are a few folks that want to take advantage of that generosity. Had one really crappy situation at work the other day that reminded me of that.
