It's so funny u mention this! I never thought it would happen to me....we started doing foster care 5 yrs ago and my now 15 yr old son was our first....I don't think I've slept a whole night thru since we got him LOL (he was 10 why was I losing sleep over a 10 yr old?) We've had many children for different periods of time over the years...and I always sleep less...the more I have the less I sleep...when we had three at once OMG!!! LOL

I had always thought it had to do with the baby waking up crying...but there must be something else going on LOL (or maybe it's just that I'm slightly insane LOL)

Heather, you might be a teeny bit insane, but aren't we all?? I can hear a mouse sneeze at my neighbors house in the middle of the night with a fan going 2 inches from my head. Livi rolls over, and I hear it on the monitor and I wake up...it's just "Momma hearing". I don't know why my partner doesn't have it! Makes me so mad sometimes LOL!

I thought "momma hearing" and "eyes in the back of your head" developed during pregnancy tho... I was pleasantly surprised to find that they apparently work for adoption too LOL:blush::laugh:

She is just an amazing little person! Almost every time I look at her I either smile or cry...sometimes both LOL! She probably thinks I'm nuts! We'll, Beth is sleeping...nothing wakes HER up. I hear every sound and lately Livi has been getting up in the middle of the night to play, eat, drink...whatever...anything but sleep. She's not upset, she's just awake. Put her to bed later tonight with a belly full of warm oatmeal, hope that works! :)
I remember those days!!! They seem rough but before you know it (trust me on this) She will be 15 and asking to get her drivers permit and want to go on dates!! UGH!!! Dont blink sweetie!! It goes by sooo fast!!!

Beth carried our baby and she didn't develop either of those things! I got them AND the postpartum depression, now how exactly did those things happen???

I know you're right! I know...and I keep trying to cherish this time while she's so little and precious. Doing my best not to blink. :)
