Yeah...I figured it was often....told him when he came home with it most likely wouldn't make it. Too late on the bread...I tried:( boB

It's not too late, check that link I posted for you on the other page, you can do this! Or call a wildlife re-habber, they'll take it and feed it. :) I know you're busy, so maybe time wise you can't really do it, but if you DID have the time, I know you could pull this little baby through.

boB, here's some info: “Abandoned” Birds | Scholastic.com Go down the page a little, it gives you feeding info. I hand raised one 2 years ago...it was time consuming, but it lived. :)

Thanks Chelle....it's a goner :(

"nestling must be fed every 14–20 minutes from sunrise to sunset"

Poor kid I keep telling him he's doing more harm than good.....not the way he see's it though. Missy's not gonna be here when he gets home dang! Guess I aint gettin much done today afterall. boB

Ok guys.....my little one has a ♥ of gold when it comes to critters...he found 2 baby robbins yesterday, of course brought them home, one of them didn't make it through the night......other one's chripping now.......I got pipettes what can I do to give this thing a chance of still ticking when he gets home from school.....I need get going but I can't leave in good conscience like this? boB

Canned dog food..(not the chunky kind.)..you can water it down to get it in the pippette...try not to put it directly in the center of throat...kinda on the side...or the bird can aspirate.... good luck...;)

you can also use a wooden skewer to use the dogfood undiluted and just drop it in...just put some on the end and feed....

I think there may be one 1/2 hour from here.....man! Missy took the car....I'm using the older one for work and letting him tote dad around....shoot. boB

I think you need to chew the worms up for them before you feed it to them.
Trying to watch my calories Jim:D

Smash up the dry food and mix it with water. It will work untiul you can get something else. Have any hamburger?
Burger's all frozen...gonna thaw some now

Soak some dry doggie food in hot water, then mush it up when it's soft. Until then, mushed up boiled eggs work and squashed bugs. :)
There we go 2 that agree on something I can do fairly quick....thanks guys...I'll tell Bradley bout you all...it'll make him happy. boB

Is the baby a fledgling or is it younger, boB? You may want to let Bradley know that fledglings are often out of the nest but mom and dad are nearby. They're learning some independence and have to get out to learn to fly, sort of like when you let him go wandering around without you all. Don't want to hurt the kiddos feelings but raising a fledgling is hard, hard work. Next time, you may want to tell him to watch the fledglings for a bit and see if mom or dad show up to feed them before he brings them home.

As for feeding the little guy, the boiled eggs and wet dog food are probably enough. Personally, I'd ask Bradley where he found them and see if maybe you can get the baby back to that area. Mom and dad will take it back. The idea that mom and dad won't feed a baby that has a human scent from being handled is a myth.

IDK the technical suff.....darn things got a few feathers but aint close to flying.

No he needs to learn this isn't the 1st time....last one was so close and didn't make it.....I think he knows and just would like to raise one and see it fly away. I'm like you.....if I can get this thing through today...I'm having him take me where he found it and seeing if something isn't looking for it.....

Thanks bunches guys...I gotta leave for a while I'll report back....gonna at least give it some of the water out of the soaking dog food...figure it's got something in it by now.....it's not clear anyway. boB
