Bianca, you cant judge a pet by its lifespan. We have to look at the greater picture with animals. Its the quality of the love and affection they inspire, not the quantity of years they offer it for. Its always hard to accept death. But look at it from the pets point of view- they get to leave knowing they were loved and cared for by the being they believe is their reason for existence. Quality vs quantity. I had to put one of my puppies to sleep not too long ago. He was 8 months old. ITs always hard, but I wont let that make me push these big dogs out of my life!
There is a story about the RainBow Bridge. You might like it.

Every rat I've brought home, I've had that feeling of "I've saved this one"...it's been a good feeling indeed. I suppose there may be room in my life for more some day...but I'm taking this one pretty hard. I'm going to give it some time.

You guys are all so amazing. I'm home alone today (a friend has Livi for me, thankfully) and I've just been a mess. I can't tell you how much you've helped me today. I truly appreciate you.

Bad pet day here. :( My 14 year old dabetic dog is having seizures again. The mobile vet came out right away to see her, tweaked her inuslin dose and we're hoping for the best. Found out she has a pretty severe heart murmer now...my poor old dog. I also had to have my last pet rat put down. Last night when I feeding him it was pretty obvious that he was just too old to hang on much longer and wan't going to get any better. :( No more tiny animals for me. I've been keeping rats for 15 years and they just don't live long enough and it's too hard to do this every 3 years.

Rest in peace, Sonny. :*(http://www.flickr.com/people/87267225@N00/

Sorry to be a downer guys. (((PIF)))

I am so sorry! I LOVE rodents ( actually I love all animals)! Most people do not know how sweet and intelligent that they
can be :-( I had many many gerbils and a friend with a pet rat that I loved. You are right, they do not live long enough and my heart just could not take losing them :-( I swore to never have another pet until a friend had an African Grey Parrot that needed a home. I researched and found that she should have outlived me so I adopted her. She was the love of my life. Sadly she passed away at 10 years of age and my heart still bleeds for her. That was 3 years ago and I still can't talk about it without tearing up :-(

So I will move on to happier thoughts :) The pkg for Afghanistan is coming along quite nicely and should be ready to go by weeks end :) I am going to take a picture of all of it and try to post it at the PIF group when it is ready :)

I am so sorry B ((((Hug)))) I have had rats in the past and they are so sweet and loving pets. I know he will be missed but because of you he had a great and loving home.

:) Thank you for that!

My little monkey is back home now. She's being pretty silly and making me smile and laugh. Livi rocks! :D

thankies! Its actually for a friend who I got started vaping .. he loves the Kool liquid and she is one of the few places that carries it. With a 30% off coupon and buying 50 ml, it's quite a fantastic deal. I accepted the TC with the coupon for him a couple weeks ago and he was thrilled!

PIF rocks ..
