The problem with that is that determined people can find ways to circumvent the "inconvenience" of law, and bigots are often the most determined of people. Just because they cannot "deny" gay parents does not mean they can't "lose" the paperwork, endlessly transfer from one person to another for no apparent reason, "lose" the child in the system, lose the paperwork again...
It takes a long time after the law for equality to arrive...just ask Jim Crow or Susan Anthony...

Oh Magnus... that's so sad. It sucks that a few perverts have ruined it for everyone. I am sure that there is good reason for this particular law. There are a lot of sick people out there. Not adopting to single fathers is probably the easiest way for them to protect against pedophiles. It doesn't make it right, or fair for people such as yourself, but some things are necessary evils.
The qualifications for being approved for adoption are extensive. The safe-guards are in place.

I can't back this up with any scientific facts but having watched some of those crime shows it seems that many of the very worst ones are married and use their spouse to help them perpetrate their sickness. Like that guy that held that poor girl in his backyard for 18 years...
