It's just strange.....I knew it was going to happen, I'm surprised it took this long actually, but it still struck me pretty hard when I drove by and it was gone.
Kind of like when my dad had cancer, we knew what was going to happen, and we knew it would be for the best and we had time to prepare and everything but still when the day came that he died I was unprepared for what to do next. Hard to explain.

It's the house I lived in for about 31 years. After my dad died when I was 16 my mom couldn't afford repairs to the house and after years of struggling to maintain it the damage was just too much. The roof leaked so bad parts of the ceiling had caved in. The attic was blown full of insulation that was riddled with mold from the roof leaking. The carpets were ruined, the furnace and stove quit working, and on and on. My mom had a health issue that kept her in the hospital for almost 6 weeks and when she got out she finally agreed she couldn't stay in the house anymore with no heat.
She has a great little apartment now. We had gotten the notice to demolish back in January I think so I've known it was just a matter of time, now it's gone~!
Aww. Thats terrible honey. Ones childhood home is special. Im so sorry.
Think of it this way. The house was beyond repair. Tearing it down prevented vagrants from living in it. It prevented someone selling it and it being unhealthy for another person.
They can tear it down, but they cant take away your memories. (((Hugs)))

I feel for you Lynlee
(I went through it a few years back). It's so hard seeing part of your past piled and smashed into the ground.
It takes a little while, but eventually, you remember that the real memories came from the people that live there. Not the house itself.

I'm not generally a huge fan of lesbian themed films. Mostly because they are (for the most part) so badly written and horribly acted. Well, tonight I watched Elena Undone, and while incredibly predictable, it was fairly well written and I'd go so far as to say it was also fairly well acted. I also fell in love with Necar Zadegan. 
and that could possibly be swaying my opinion of this film.

I'm not generally a huge fan of lesbian themed films. Mostly because they are (for the most part) so badly written and horribly acted. I keep trying to like them. And I suppose a few have been watchable, but really...so many bad ones. Guh.
well, I got a CPA to sign off on my 501c3 paperwork- said I did a great job- the board meeting of the economic development board that I went to adn presented a proposal to went well. and best of all- I DID NOT fall flat on my face in my 5 inch high ...... heals... LOL

Imagine Me and You and Gray Matters were both really good and like she said, I have no interest in lesbian movies. I have seen Imagine Me and You a few times.

LOL- yep- mine calls them that too.... and ya know whats funny- 4 differnt friends asked me today if they could borrow them... I am thinking my shoes might get more action than I do.... LOL
