We're home. Beth is doing OK, but she popped a blood vessel in her eye somehow :blink: Only my wife could go in for ankle surgery and come out with a bloody eye. :facepalm: Bless her heart.

Livi was HORRIBLE. OMG. At one point I scopped her up and was taking her out of the waiting room. She says "Where are you taking me?" I said "Somewhere where I can beat you in private!" and one of the women in there almost choked to death on her soda pop. :lol: We had to go out in the hall and have a conversation. :glare: She was just tired. It was her nap time, can't really blame her, but OMG :blink:. She's passed out on the couch as I type and I have to wake her up to feed her some dinner. :cry: I don't wanna!

Witless, thanks for the care and concern!

The home inspection will be the ultimate deciding factor and we're paying for a septic inspection, since it is an old farmhouse. We can hook up to public sewer, if we pay to run a line out to the road, which isn't very far at all.

We are just requesting stuff like the 1 year home warranty not be a POS that never pays for anything and charges you to tell you that they aren't going to fix it. I did research on the different warranty companies and found one priced equally but had much better reviews but the the seller/agent wanted to deduct 50 bucks since we weren't going with her choice. It's not 50 bucks, it's the point.

We are getting a deal, no doubt, and we are buying well below our price range. I'm guessing that the seller is just accustomed to a better market and stubborn as hell, but she's met her match with us. :)

We will walk away, if we need to.

((We want the surrounding acreage but they want cray-cray money for that. We're going to let them sit on that land for years before we offer again. The land beside my mom's house has been for sale since 1984. You know that no one is going to build a freaking house anytime soon with all the houses in foreclosure. And geez, this isn't readily build-able land. We already have enough land for everything that we need to do. We just don't want it to touch anyone else's land :)

{{hugs}} I'm glad you got what I was saying!

My friend and her hubby put an offer a house that was in an estate and had been for sale for several years (with 23 acres and a pond) in 1997. Their offer was reasonable - but the sellers wanted a crazy amount. My friends walked away...1 year later a tree fell on the house leaving a 10 ft or so opening in the roof over the kitchen/living room (and the hard wood floors.) teens had been parting in the house, windows busted out, animals...

In March 2000 they offered again - 100kless than their 1997 offer and got it and all the acreage. They moved in Thanksgiving of 2000. Sometimes it pays to be patient! LOL - oh and they were able to salvage 80% of the hardwood floors.

BMontgomery - just take her to Walmart ;-) you can beat her in public there! In fact, I think it's required if it after 10pm

Speaking of beating children - anyone want a freshman in high school who only brought books home to study for 1 of his 2 finals tomorrow? Has his stuff for Spanish - but not for Science.

<crickets>

Anyone? hmm, me neither.

And when I offered to take him in to school early so he could grab the book and notebook and study for 30 min he told me no, he'd be ok. REALLY?? An entire semester of Science and you've got it down pat? Thankfully DH came home about then...
There are days this parenting gig sux. really really sux.

I'll pass on the offer of a teenager. Thanks, anyway!

We have our house inspection on Friday.
