About 10 years back I had a couple of Witnesses come schlepping up the driveway towards the cabin. Heidi was my 85 pound Aussie, big, strong, large teeth (she used to get cow femurs as chew toys), off lead since she I was going to have her get in the car to go for a run in the park (the park rangers knew us, she was the only dog I ever saw there allowed to go off lead, they knew I constantly worked with her on hand signals and only did this away from people). I called her back after she chased them down to the property line, the nitwits actually started coming back. Some people are oblivious...

I am pretty lucky- we tend to not have alot of folks just 'show' up. But one time BR was out sighting in a large caliber rifle by the house and someone drove up. You could hear him shooting, this guy was not sure about getting out. LOL I walked outside and was talking to him and he was noticebly nervous, Finally he asked who was shooting and why. I hollered at BR- he wasnt even aware anyone was here. LOL

and ONE time some witness' drove up. the kids were little- about 5 and 6- we had JUST got home, it was hot, and we had a glass storm door- the kids were taking the last of the trash out to the burn barrel, and I had just told them to strip and give me their clothes to throw in the washer- I was stripping out of my jeans and headed to the laundry room with them (you went through the kitchen, right in front of the door) SO- they saw me stripping out of my jeans and putting on my work out pants (the laundry room was too small to change in, I was getting them out of the dryer)-
come to find out, the boys were hiding behind the burn barrell in nothing but their underwear, - and it was just a blazing. they were hidden from the door and the folks standing there, but not from the car and those who stayed in it. LOL

Some people call me stubborn but I prefer to call it "a person of principle".

I'm not going to buy anything if it's sold door to door because that's encouraging more businesses to sell stuff door to door. Same thing with telemarketers. I won't buy anything if they use a person as a sign holder to skirt sign ordinance laws. I won't buy anything where people dress up as a chicken and dance on the side of the road to drum up business.

And the type of religious people who randomly knock on doors are guaranteed wack-a-doodle crazy people. There's just a special level of crazy to wake up one weekend morning and decide to do that.

Enid - glad that's a happier note! lol

My friend has one of those (stupid in opinion) fake wells with a bucket in her front garden. A mama bird decided it was an excellent place to raise her brood - of SIX chicks. How the heck they're going to get out is anyone's guess. The bucket is about 18 inches deep.

I will admit, in my small town we dont have folks who dress up and dance much- the only place is little ceasers- the pizza place. sometimes they dress as the cartoon charecter, sometimes they just hold signs.

I always smile and usually it reminds me that its 5.00 pizza night- :)

because I grew up in the country, where we will sell stuff on the side of the road, I dont think anything about it. My kids have a veggie stand every year selling excess from our gardens.

now that one Riva that I fixed with a new button? it finally went dead last night- put it on the charger, its LED blinked a few times, (like normal) but the charger stays green- UGGGGGGG my new Riva's better hurry!

 It's not the visions killing your batts! I've never had one mess with my vv ego at least. I just wanted to see if you still liked them! I think they're the easiest thing in the world to use and when I need a carto, I reach for one.

I've been looking at the Mini ProVari. I think I have myself talked out of selling gear and buying one though. Looks like it won't get me any more battery life than my Little Sister does and I had two ProVari's to compare the hit of the Little Sister to, and honestly, they hit the same. Maybe if I didn't have a good multi-meter or voltage meter I could justify it, but I have all that stuff and my trusty Little Sister. Yep...talked myself right out of it  I know, I know...I'm a mess. :glare:
