Here
We need some rainy days -- we're 6" below normal, 16" behind last year. Neighbor ended up having to get a new well drilled.

It's been raining for the past couple of days here in Vermont and it's cold, dark and dreary outside making it all quite depressing. I suppose on the positive some of the sad looking yellow leaves are turning bright orange and red so that's sorta nice. But it's still depressing since it then just makes it more painful knowing that summer is over. Waa waa waa.

Yay, made it to Terrific Tuesday! Enjoying the paperwork shuffle (yeah, right), waiting for things to get done on the lake camp we're looking to buy. Hopefully the flood insurance stuff will get set up today. The place is 40 years old, high enough that it wasn't harmed even in Spring 2011 when there was a big flooding problem on the lake, but we're on a flood plain, so supposed to get insurance.

Flood insurance is a ripoff :grr:
When I flooded in 2006 FEMA was in the next day handing out money to all my neighbors for clean up and repair. I didn't qualify because I had flood insurance. I had to wait a week for an adjuster from Florida. Another 2 weeks for a partial check and 6 more weeks for final payment that covered about a third of clean up and repairs. The neighbors got more than enough to cover everything. Tax dollars at work

I hear you. What bites is the area had bad flooding in 1993 then 2011, but this place wasn't touched, just enough of a rise and built up on piers. Unfortunately, too much of a hassle to fight over it now, we want to get the closing done. I might investigate next year, see if there's a process to show it is not needed based on height above the base flood level.

(I'm not even sure if the current owner pulled flood insurance, but I'm a by-the-book person and the commitment letter does have the clause about needing to get it if required based on location. I didn't want to play dumb, possibly have closing get messed up. We'll only pull the bare minimum to satisfy the bookkeepers -- it's a seasonal home, no valuables going to be in it, and low actual likelihood of flooding.)

My order of pluid came in from vapow :) Maybe I should do the swap - heard lots of good things about Gandalf. Lox cut the pluid in his ce5 in half and it's still outstanding.
I read that notifications went out in the middle of the night from the 310 site......and of course it sold out right away......doesn't seem right to send those notices during the night.....
