Well, my adventure to purchase mass amounts of flavorings was a fail.

I got on the way (from WL, and Highdesert):

-Vanillin (TFA?)
-White Chocolate (TFA)
-Dark Chocolate (TFA)
-Hot Cocoa (CAP)
-Snickers flavor (CAP)

And a few other miscellaneous flavors. I can't seem to ever be there when TFA Double Chocolate is in stock at WL. They don't even have it at HighDesert, and I wasn't ordering from 3 places  Also, Vanilla Twirl was sold out, so I failed on the Vanillas.

Ah well, I'll try and make due with the above, and report anything of interest.

Oh yeah, I had also failed to mention that I was going to purchase that. They only had 30ml bottles in stock at Highdesert, and I do not foresee me using 30mls of flavoring :)

On my next run of flavor purchasing, I will acquire both TFA and CAP double chocolate. Along with a myriad of vanillas, and whatever else deemed necessary.

ETA: Though, that amazon price is pretty decent. If I make an Amazon purchase anytime soon, I'll have to remember Capella flavorings.

Well one of my latest "tests" to make this elusive chocolate flavor came out decent but still not perfect. The vanialla and vanillin powder with some sucralose as sweetner are definitely part of it. The last batch I made used some vanilla flavoring and my own Ethyl Vanillin concentration and it got reaaaaaaal close. I will find it!!!

Levitas, is there any reason you're not purchasing direct from TFA? That's how I purchase their flavorings, direct.

Okay, Brokil. This looks very promising. Keep going. If you are close, you should post a recipe or two if you're willing...

It's actually cheaper at Wizard Labs? 4mls for $1.40 at TFA, 8mls for $1.49 at WL. Though, I suppose if I were buying larger bottles, but I like the smaller ones to experiment with.

Also, I needed more nic-base, and bottles.

One thing I forgot to mention, that I found while trying to mix chocolates is they have an element with tobacco vapes that is similar. They need time to steep. Does anyone else find this to also be true? I found some experiments really changed over a week or two.

Vendors selling "chocolate juice" that they KNOW tastes like toostie roll garbage are falsely adverting and have committed a sin against cocoa! Just sayin.

Cheaper? Darn it. I never checked. I just assumed the manufacturer would sell at lowest price. Thanks for letting me know.

I've been pondering this age old question of chocolate e-liquid the last couple of days and after reading this thread I have a couple of questions and maybe some thoughts.

When I make things with chocolate I often put just a hint of strong coffee and/or a little bit of rum or bourbon. Has any one been adding these as minor components in their mixes and has it helped any?

I was doing a bit of research this morning and even considering doing my own coco bean extraction (the boys are after me to go all organic with the e-juice) and stumbled across a site that made me think about the basic flavor components that are seem to be in good beans. One example of a bean description-

Once in chocolate form (75% for my tests) there is sweet toffee, soft dark and red fruits, vanilla, tobacco and a solid chocolate laced all throughout with a utterly lovely dense creamy mouth feel.

So my next question is more along the lines of do any of the flavorings we are trying have that sort of depth to begin with or are they all more along the lines of "this must be chocolate"? Would adding very tiny amounts of fruits, toffee and caramel .etc push them closer to the chocolates we are looking for? Not in levels so that we would really fully taste those extra flavor components in a way that made it a toffee chocolate or a caramel chocolate but at an almost subliminal level.

I'm really just starting out so much of this is still a bit abstract for me so keep that in mind with my questions.

I use coffee, caramel, and vanilla to bring chocolate flavors forward. Depends on where I'm going with it. I use enough vanilla to just not taste it at all. You can play with those 3 ingredients plus chocolate and make cola flavor. I have some stuff I've made that has a cola aftertaste and/or leans really heavy to a chocolate cola but there's no cola in there. Chocolate Icing can be made with those. You can make these flavors do a whole lot more than you think. Look at the ingredients on a **ke. And yes there is depth finding that little sweet spot is hard. Steeping changes it all. I don't look at a bottle with any chocolate in it anymore til I know it's steeped. Somebody said something about lickin' a horses rear end on that subject earlier.

Southern Bliss - you may be on to something. There's a post in this thread from someone who used PINEAPPLE flavoring (as a lark) and it worked.

I've had a couple disasters that at least had some of the "depth" you mentioned. I remember one mix had a nice, creamy "feel" toward the front of my tongue. Nothing else in the mix worked, though. I think I used the DIY Shack Expert Chocolate for that. No chocolate taste, but definitely in the ballpark for sweetness and the "spread" toward the front of my tongue.

Thanks for the link!

I have a recipe that I got from another member here, her name escapes me at the moment, anyways
it is for a chocolate mint
TFA flavors
12% double chocolate clear
5% creme de menthe
This was her recipe. I changed the % on the creme de menthe to 4%
and added 4% vanillin.
Outstanding vape.....clean refreshing taste on inhale and chocolate on exhale!!

It's funny that here I am trying to find a way to make a chocolate vape and you link to a site I investigated during my coffee roasting. I'm a home roaster (coffee) and I find it interesting that you linked the site! Small world it is for sure! :toast:

I am a home roaster also. In fact one of my roasters is a refurbished Behmor from Chocolate Alchemy. Small world indeed!

CAP Hot Cocoa - delicious. Tastes like cocoa powder, and you can even taste the little marshmallows. I don't foresee it as a great mixer flavor, perhaps with something crazy like Cinnamon Danish, or a Vanilla. Still though, tasty.

CAP Snick Snack - meh. I'm not too crazy on this flavor. Sure, the elements are there, but it just seems poorly executed. Perhaps mixing with some additional similar ingredients might perk it up (i.e. caramel, peanut butter, etc).

Still no chocolate answer, but I'm happy to have the cocoa.

Very true, chocolate and steeping for sure. I had a bottle transform over a three week time frame when I first switch to vaping
