Oh good grief! I just got in my first shipment of DIY supplies today which included a bottle of TPA Milk Chocolate. I've spoken with another DIY'er who told me to that chocolate would need sweetener. I was thinking, OK cool, mix in some chocolate and add some sweetener and VIOLA! A chocolate vape! (I'm looking for the milk chocolate/Hershey kiss type taste) Now I'm wondering about mixing any up and having something that tastes like burnt toast, which is like a DIY chocolate vape that I received from an ECF friend.

I'm almost scared to try chocolate now LOL. But all the info on this thread has given me some ideas (which might be dangerous in my hands ;) ).

This is my initial DIY attempt with actual DIY flavorings. I tried using flavorings from the supermarket and they were all weak as heck. I did have some slight success with using the MIO water flavoring (Fruit Punch), but the flavor didn't last very long and I ended up throwing it out.

The idea of adding vanilla or caramel sounds pretty good. I was just hoping to start with single flavors, but now it seems if I'm going to use chocolate, that hope is out the window LOL.

I'm going to try the straight chocolate with sweetener as suggested by my friend. Not really sure though how much to add. I'm using Stevia so if anyone has any input as to that quandary, I'd appreciate the input.

With all the DIY gods we have on this forum it's hard to believe that no one has come forth with a straight chocolate vape yet. I'm beginning to think that all of the ideas of some additive to make a chocolate vape must be the way! Now we must combine forces and see what it takes!

I'm gonna try a few things and see what happens so I can hopefully add to the thread or maybe inspire someone else to come up with an idea to solve this quest we are all on!

Wish me luck!

I wish you great success, but I have to give you a heads up. I have TFA milk chocolate. Look at this:

5 ml 70/30 pg/VG 18 mg nic solution

3 drops TFA milk chocolate
3 drops Ethyl Maltol
3 drops vinegar

(3 drops = 2% across the board)

Steep 12 hours in crock pot on low setting.

Test=very nice vapor and zero flavor.

Add 3 drops TFA milk chocolate
Steep as before

Test=very nice vapor and slight fake butter taste.

That's how far I've gotten.

FWIW... Which is probably zero.

IMHO, Chocolate, as a solitary, standalone flavor is almost impossible. Never even came close after MANY attempts and MANY different flavorings. I now only use chocolate as a background flavor and only rarely.
The next most difficult flavor is Tobacco. There I have had good success and I'm very pleased.

Agree, though I'm a novice.

One driver behind my recipe (earlier) is this. My taste buds are like no one else's. (silly, I know). I'm starting from scratch in testing EVERY flavor I have all by itself. Like glassmanoak, I've not found any flavor called chocolate that works alone. My quest then is to test the flavors I have alone to determine, "just exactly what does this taste like? How does it work?"

I quoted my recipe to show what glassmanoak clearly and succinctly said. "Alone? Forget it." He is VERY correct because my testing has borne itself out with TFA Double Dark and TFA Chocolate.

Having said all that, Capella's Chocolate Fudge Brownie works all by itself for me at 2% with the standard EM and vinegar at 2%. It's chocolate fudge with mild nutty flavor. I can enjoy that while I pursue my experiments. For those of you who use Capella's Chocolate Fudge Brownie and can't imagine how it works "by itself", there is the object lesson that we're all different.

Too long... Sorry.

By find I mean stumbled across through experimentation :) The FA chocolate was from ECX under 'flavor art condensed', everything else was from WL. Yes the EM is the standard solution, I didn't dilute my own crystals. But the recipe shouldn't be followed to a T.

Some may like 1% EM or more, others may like .5% or none. You could even do sucralose drops to sweeten it up, or throw in marshmallow or whipped cream for a background sweet/thickness. Maybe my tastebuds are sensitive, but I've been enjoying this at .5% chocolate and 1% double dark with .5% EM and 2% Vanillin (10% solution), or 2% Vanilla Bourbon (TFA concentrate). Vanilla helps bring out the chocolate taste.

If you take a whiff of the FA chocolate condensed, you'll know immediately it's one of the key ingredients in Belgian Cocoa. It has that dry cocoa powder smell to it and you could use that for any number of experiments. I added some to a personal NET recipe I put together and enjoyed it until the NET gunked the crap out of my coils. You could also use it with vanilla cupcake/ice cream recipes or try to put together a mint chocolate chip. Get creative :D

OMG!!!
THIS is the PERFECT chocolate base!!
Going to let my 10ml test steep for awhile, might have to back down on the EM just a bit. Don't want it to sweat.
THANKS!!! :)

lol np, glad you enjoyed it. What did your recipe look like?

Like a translucent Hershey bar. :)

oh.. my bad, not what you meant!
Chocolate 0.2ml
Dbbl Chocolate 0.4ml
Vanilla Bourbon 0.2ml
EM 0.1ml (forgot my EM is reeeealy strong & should have used 2 drops per 10ml. But it isn't too bad.)

I love Chocolate with Orange, however when I mentioned pages ago it was met with a big yuck.

Do you have a good recipe?

I've been playing around with slight variations of this:

All TFA flavors 50/50 @ 16 mg/ml

Orange Cream 8%
Double Chocolate (clear) 2%
Marshmallow 2%
Vanilla Swirl 3%
EM 4%
Lemon Juice 2 drops per 5ml

I like my flavors sweet. The EM isn't quite gittin it so I may try some sucralose as well.

None worth sharing yet, but I'll get there. Love the real thing though and hoped it would be suggested. I missed your post where you suggested it. GrimmGreene did a PSV review of one of their chocolates that had an orange zing to it, but I don't remember the name and I don't know yet what brands of flavorings they were working with at the time.

Looking forward to the goal result. :)
I never would have considered the Lemon. I'm too much a rookie.

WOW! Really... 2%? I never would have started out that low with a Capella flav!

You might consider it with this one. I know Capella's has a reputation for being weak. I've not found that to be accurate for me with any of their flavors. I have no single flavor mixes using Capella's with more than 4% flavor concentration. Just FWIW....
