If this topic has been covered on this forum, please let me know. I have not been able to find a good guide for this exact topic.

I have several different TC mods and almost every one uses a different value for the TCR, or TFR in some of the newer ones. My reuleaux DNA200 is easy. Just plug in the data on Steam Engine, save the csv and upload it to escribe and that's that. Every other mod is different. My reuleaux RX200 and Vapor Flask Classic seem to use the same value for their TCR. My iPV5 uses a completely different value and I just got the sigelei 213 and its also completely different. What I'm trying to do in this thread is create a simple guide on how to determine the correct TCR or TFR(if applicable) for all of the different chips in these mods.

For instance,

TCR
Reuleaux RX200 / Vapor Flask(Classic, Stout & Lite) use the Joyetech board, i believe.
  • when your device is turned off, you hold the power and + button until the TCR setting comes on. Then you can choose your TCR ranging from 0001 - 0999
  • What is this number and where do you find it on Steam Engine?
iPV5 uses some version of the YiHi chip.
  • When you go into the menu and select Joule mode, you can then select a TCR from 0.00050 to 0.00700.
  • Is 0.00100 on this chip equal to 0001 from the Joyetech chip?
Sigelei 213
  • When you go to the TCR mode, you can select a number from 0.0001 to 9.9999. For SS316L builds I've been using 1.1758. It seems to work well enough, but I've move to the TFR on this mod.
  • See the image below from Steam Engine.
  • The top right highlighted box is where I got the 1.1758 from.
  • Should you use the value in the bottom left "TCR value in vaping range" or the top right "resistance factor" ???
  • And how do you convert the correct number to each of these different mods?

TFR
Other than the DNA200, the Sigelei 213 is the first mod I've used that allows you to adjust the TFR. Currently I'm using a Zenith 2.5 RDA with a dual Fused Clapton (40g on 26/26g) All SS316L with the TFR setting. This was very easy to set. When you go into the TFR menu you set a different value for 5 different degrees of Celsius: 100°, 150°, 200°, 250° & 300°. For my SS316L build, I input the first value (1.08 at 100° C) and then the next 4 values at 150°, 200°, 250° & 300°. I'm guessing this is the correct way to do it, but I haven't been able to find confirmation that this is correct.

I have really been having trouble with my iPV5 in TC mode lately. I have an all SS316L fused clapton on my Herakles RTA-2 and have not been able to use it except under the TC- Titanium mode. In the SS304 mode it reads no-liquid, dry hit. When I put in a TCR, regardless of what number I use (0.00050 to 0.00700), I get the same message. Since the build is below 0.15 Ω, I can only use it in TC mode.

Does anyone have an answer?

Finally! I just found this on some website. It seems to be working well on my SX Mini Q Class & my iPV5. I think the reason I was having so much trouble is because I wasn't locking the resistance before vaping. After I locked the ohms and set the manual TCR to the value below, it's working perfectly.

The updated list of TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance) value for Manual TCR on SX Mini / SX350J: *(And all of my YiHi chips)

Pure Nickel / Ni200 : 0.0052

Titanium Grade 1 / T1: 0.0035

Dicodes Resistherm NiFe30 : 0.0032

Stainless Steel / SS 304 : 0.00105
Stainless Steel / SS 316 : 0.00092
Stainless Steel / SS 317 : 0.00088
Stainless Steel / SS 410 : 0.00155

Stainless Steel / SS 430 : 0.00138

This list can also be used on “Purity Setting”,for example Ni200: 0.0052 = 52, SS 304: 0.00105 = 11
