Read any good books lately? I've read a few good ones recently. I'm thinking about digging into the Left Behind series, I've heard alot of good things about that. Anyone here read those yet? If so, what's your opinion of them? A Course in Miracles is also on my list of books to read this year.

One of the best books I've ever read was The Shack. I mean, it was life altering for me. It changed my whole view of God, and I mean literally. It made Him so much more approachable, closer and more personal to me, it was hands down a winner.

The Bible Code was very interesting book. Not earth shattering, but very intriguing.

The Shack had the same affect on my wife. She had major God issues before reading this book. After she finished it - 15 years of prayer for her to see the Lord were answered. It honestly was like a light bulb just "bling" turned on.

I am anxious to read it (she lended it out to a friend). I have some images/interpretations of who and what God is that I think I need to unlearn and from what I hear - this book could help. Along the lines of hellfire and judgement, and not alot of His love for us. You know, the same stuff we were all raised with :).

I shall have to check out "The Shack"

At the top of my must read Christian books list - Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis
(and anything else by dear Clive as well)

An Excellent Wife by Martha Peace was lifechanging for me. It taught me how to be a proper wife. And because our marriages are models of the great marriage between Christ and His bride (the body of believers) It taught me how to be a better Christian. I read this very shortly after my conversion to the faith. I recommend this book to everyone. The companion book An Exemplary Husband is also a good read.

I can personally vouch for The Shack, Left Behind Series and of course all of CS Lewis. These are all great reading and inspirational. I'm going to have to check out the An Exemplary Husband (hadn't heard of that one). Tim LaHaye has a real good book out about the last apostle, John. I think that is the name of it "The Last Apostle." It's a good read as well as most of his other books.

I just finish a book called." The wolf is at the door" by Michele Longo Odonnell. This book has really open my eyes to alot of things. This book is about the basic cause of diseases.
It is a christian book that discusses the reason Christians are sick and how to overcome this. She has two other books on the subject. I am reading her other one now. "The God we created" I am reading the order of the books wrong. Her first book is "Of Dragons and Monkeys" I wanted to read the last book for she discusses more of how to overcome. Her first book tells how she discover this stuff. She also had a website called living beyond Diseases.
Anyway this has been a real good book that I will not forget.
Wrong title correction. When the Wolf is at the Door: The Simplicity of Healing is the name of the book.

Hmm the last book i read was "the great emergence" by phylis tickle. I enjoyed Velvet Elvis and Sex God by Rob Bell too. Interesting stuff, even if you don't agree w/ his conclusions.

I liked the Great Emergence one because looking at how the church has and is developing, and how Christian thought has developed is interesting stuff to me.

I like those kinds of books too. I"m always interested in the natural healing approach.
