I have decided to offer up a gift to a member of the ECF Community. My reasons are simple, ECF and the people here have been the single biggest factor in my success in quitting stinkies for over a year now. Having found this forum and the amazing people on here and their giving, caring spirit is overwhelming and I want to return the favor.

The contest is simple and will run until Tuesday night (12/20/2011), ending somewhere between 8-9 pm eastern time. I will post the winner at that time, after making sure their submission is consistant with the rules below. I will ship this out on Wednesday to the lucky winner. I know that it will probably not arrive in time for Christmas but maybe it will. Either way, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

***Rules, but simple ones!***

1. One post per person, if you make more than one, you will be eliminated, period.
2. Tell me a vaping story, share some of your experiences from being a vaper, funny, serious, doesn't matter. But if your number is picked and all you have done is say "I'm in" or something like that, your # will be discarded. I'm not asking for a novel, just something simple.
3. My game, my rules, simple enough? LOL

Winner will be picked by Random Number Generator.

Here is the prize! One Anniversary Edition Phidias wood mod made by the master Fono. One feeder bottle and a small bottle of mineral oil to keep it nice and shiny. (no batts included but it takes a single 18650)

So come on, tell me your story!

Woody Hayes (February 14, 1913 –March 12, 1987) was a college football coach who is best remembered for winning five national titles and 13 Big Ten championships in 28 years at The Ohio State University. He misquoted Emerson as having said "You can pay back only seldom. You can always pay forward, and you must pay line for line, deed for deed, and cent for cent." He also shortened the (mis)quotation into "You can never pay back; but you can always pay forward"

i started vaping because i promised the missus if she ever got pregnant that i would quit analogs... a couple of months b4 the due date i tried vaping a crappy 7-11 model..i knew that this would work for me but knew i needed a better set up...skip a month or so, a little hicup with being analog free but am now back completly smoke free..

I'll go first since Number two is never picked and I have bad luck anyway ;-)

Okay, I am NOTORIOUS for loosing my Riva. I set it down and loose it. I mean seriously, the thing is not on fire, so I dont worry about it. Till I need it.

WELL, I am a firearms instructor, and a leader in our 4H, and I run a shooting complex that specializes in youth.

All my friends think its HILLARIOUS to pick it up and hide it every time I set it down. They are constantly picking it up and putting it somewhere else, trying to make me think I am loosing my mind.

or worse, if I am busy, they will take it, and set a pen in its place. Just to see me pick up the pen and try to vape it... and now they have the kids doing it.

*** didnt make number two, but I will leave it just to bump it up and for a great contest!! :)

I simply realized that the cost of cigarettes and the risk factor associated with it was not worth it. I also needed a way to prove that not only could I quit cigs for my family I could also quit for myself :) And as we all know it wasn't hardhwen you find ecigs and take your first vape of a good PV and ejuice LOL

Beautiful Mod! Been wanting a wood mod and bottom feeder for a long time (kill two birds with one stone!), anyways heres my story.

I have been vaping for about 2 months now, after being a pack a day smoker. Bought a Ego-T and the first day using it, I knew that it was my last analog smoked. My daughter was born on Nov 14 of this year, and all year long I had been really wanting to finally kick the analogs. For my own health, for hers, and for my wifes. Im 30 years old, and I wanted to make sure that this nasty habit would no longer have to opportunity to shorten my life, and take any more time away from me and my beautiful little girl Averie. Ater switching I feel a hundred times better, I can smell, breathe, and taste so much more now! I can hold my daughter in my arms without fear of having that nasty smell on me and exposing her to it. Its such a comforting feeling, and everytime I look at that little face I know why I did this. Since switching I have converted 6 coworkers to vaping, including the 2 owners of the company in which I work for. We have an open vaping policy at work because of this as well. We also get together a lot to share juices, and have little vape parties, lol. Its just made such a hugely positive difference in my life! I love this forum and the knowledgeable posters who helped me with all of this! :vapor: :)

My Beautiful little Averie Lynn!

I never intended to quit my pack and a half a day habit of Red Buck light Menthol mini-cigars. This is what I had switched to after smoking Light Menthol Cigs ordered off the internet after Texas began taxing so much. Then Obama pushed the bill to make it illegal to ship cigs by mail. Then my two oldest granddaughters finally got approved to spend the night with me for the 1st time (6 and 4 yo) with the understanding that I would not smoke around them...in comes Aunt Pat with an ecig...510 I think...made it all night and until 10 am the next morning without a cig...grandgirls leave...back to cigars...fast forward 6 weeks...grandgirls can spend the night again...call Aunt Pat. This time she brought me an ego-T...wow...kept it an extra day...ordered my own...tested myself for 3 days on how long I could go without a cigar...day 1 10 hrs...day 2 all except coffee time...day three pushed through the coffee and am now on day 7 totally off the analogs!!!!!!!!!!!! Already my lung capacity is double, my energy level is through the roof, my husband thinks I'm on speed or something...I HAVE 6 1/2 CARTONS OF RED BUCK LIGHT MENTHOL CIGARS IN THE FREEZER IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO BUY THEM AT A DISCOUNT??????? Thanks to vaping....I quit smoking after 28 years...If I can do it, anyone can!

I have a black/purple Reo Grand. Every time I put it down I seem to misplace it. Got to the point that I was afraid to let it go out of my hand. So, my daughter put a reflective sticker on it so that I could find it even in the dark. LOL! Haven't "lost" it since.

Here, there, everywhere!
I lost my first ecig in the porta pot at the Kansas Speedway Nascar races. Was in my back pocket and when I stood up to you know pull the britches up it slipped right out and into the "blue abyss". I was not diving for that one............no way, no how, nada! Luckily I had plenty more for the weekend!

After 8 months of vaping with only a few comments, all from interested smokers, this happened to me last weekend:

I was standing outside in the cold at a friend's bar patio to watch a band called The Howling Diablos lay down some good blues, freezing and vaping, when a guy approached me and introduced himself as Brandon.

Brandon: What blend you vapin', man?
Me: This one's menthol and this one's strawberry. (I always carry these two)
Brandon: No man, I mean what blend???
Me: Just nicotine
Brandon: Ohhhhh......wanna go vape somethin' else?
Me: No thanks, the band's still playin!

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

ok, when i first started with e-cigs it was gas station variety. i lucked up on one of my aquarium sites and met a guy that sold for dfw vapers and bought an ego-t passthrough. in researching it cause i knew nothing of it i came across ecf so i popped in and did an intro. i only read about ego-ts and paid no attention to the fact there were other mods out there. i came across the okie vapers section and there was a vape get togather in okc that weekend so i went. all the while i was figuring i was really gonna show off this bright shiny toy of mine and it would be envied by all. so i arive with my ego-t and some juice. i had no idea what a 510 atomizer or drip tip was nor a 306. one of our members... fudgey.. gave me an atty and drip tip and another member gave me a 306 and tip so i could try juices. i started looking around and was seeing all kinds of mods id never seen like silver bullets and such. then i saw gg s in all their glory with big tanks....my shiney little ego-t all of a sudden wasnt as hot as i thought it was.

I was recently stealth vaping while out shopping. I didn't notice anyone else in the isle and must of let out a little cloud. As I went to reach for something up on a shelf I saw this woman look at me, turn around and hall azz down the isle like she'd seen a ghost........

I'm sure she went to tell someone, but where there's no smoke, there's no ciggie!

Well I, like most people, needed a alternative. I was tired and frustrated about waking up every morning not being able to breathe, probably didn't help I was a clove smoker (man those things are brutal!) was trying the gums and the mints but they weren't helping at all, sometimes it seemed like they made the cravings worse and I'd usually end up smoking right after. A friend of mine had gotten a hold of a blu and of course the techy in me was instantly in love with it, but the thoughts and ideas that came flooding into the steampunkian side is what really pushed me over the edge and I knew I had to have one. Like most I did some research and browsed and read and hunted, and finally ended up with one that was great for a couple of weeks but quickly slid into nothing but a $50 headache. That's what got me to this forum, ran into so many helpful people and a few of them got me on the right track with a ego kit and some juice. It would have been so easy to just to give up and go back to cigs but I'm so glad I didn't. Now I'm looking forward to my first mod experience ^_^

My husband and I both started vaping basically because he had been laid off for quite a few months and we were struggling to buy ANYTHING including cigarettes. We had both heard about e-cigs being cheaper than cigarettes, so we decided to spend our weekly budget on enough basic supplies to get us started. Lucky enough, the juice we decided on tasted very yummy and we both took to vaping right away. Neither of us has bicked up stinkies since then. Once he resumed working, we stocked up on chargers, batteries, and juices. He has been laid off again, and thank goodness we are vapers with enough bacck up that we can go another month till he starts work again :)

AND, after 9 months, we both breathe better, smell better, and enjoy a much healthier lifestyle!

Well my story about vaping is I smoked for more years than I care to think about. Spent tons of money on stuff to help me quit. Even sent off to Europe for some worthless junk. Nothing worked until Chantix came along. I was able to quit for five good years...never even craved a nasty analog. Last summer I had a very stressful situation and picked up one...I know, what an idiot. Didn't take long til I was smoking like a fiend and feeling sick and oh so guilty about it. Then my neighbor told me about her new Blu ecig that she got at Walgreens drug store. Course I had to try it out...the guilt about smoking was really bothering me. Bought one and liked it ...sorta. Got online and found ECF and all the wonderful people here...especially you, my friend Reddhot. Got a better ecig and I'm happy to say it did the trick.
I've been analog free since Nov 28th...not very long but it's a start. Don't even think about analogs anymore except to think they are disgusting.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :D

I never intended to quit. I had used a cig-alike for a couple of years to supplement my smoking in places where I couldn't light up - movie theaters, airports, the boss' car, that sort of thing. When my last crappy battery died, I looked into something with more battery life, and ended up with an ego. The day it came in the mail I tossed the battery on to charge, and when it went green I put out the cig I was smoking to give it a try.

It was better. Not just better than the crappy cigarette lookalike ecig, better than the cigarette itself. I never lit another cigarette. That was almost 8 months ago.

Vaping rocks.

When I first started vaping, the only devices I knew of were the Blu and V2 types...so I bought those. Ugh. But after a while, hoping there was something more than these little stick batteries that I have to keep charging every other hour, I found ECF.

Another user pointed me in the direction of the ePower. I read up on them, couldn't afford much more than that...or so I thought...and I liked the look of it. So I ordered from CCV.

After 2 days, I still hadn't gotten an email or any kind of shipping notification. I was almost out of the prefilled cartos for my V2, didn't want to give them any more money and didn't want to buy analogs...so I found a shop closer to me that also sold them - electronicstix.com. They're in my state, so they HAD to be faster, right?? So I ordered, and received it and was happily vaping before the one from CCV was even shipped. But I learned that I like double-fisted vaping...that I get the twitches when waiting for vapemail, and that I can never go back to smoking.

I guess I don’t have any funny or cool stories. Sooo….

I have herd about ecigs but never really gave it much thought. One day I just said enough. I went to a smoke shop got an kit for $30. It worked, but not what I had hoped for. Two days later a different kit from another smoke shop. This one was better, but not really what I wanted. Then I got a green smoke kit, yes a lot of money, but it did work pretty good. Then I got online found ecf. Few days later I got my 808 kit and then took the green smoke back for a refund. From day one with the first ecig kit I was and still am smoke free. The rest is history.

Ok, here we go:
So, I started vaping just over 2 years ago now. A buddy of mine a a DSE901, and was showing/telling me about it. I laughed at him...said it looked silly...and all that jazz. The next day, he brings in an extra for me to try. I took it, and went up to my desk (about 0900). About 1230/1300, I finally realize that A: I have been at my desk all morning... B: I didn't NEED to go smoke.. C: HOLY MOLY did I get a lot of work done. I smoked that evening.. The next day he brought me an extra battery, charger and a bottle of juice. That was Oct 11, 2009 and I have been 100% vaping since then!

Since we can only have 1 post... I HAVE to tell my favorite vaping story too:
I am military (USAF), and when I started vaping, there were NO rules against it. So, if the weather was bad (or I was just lazy) I would sit in my office and vape. So, one day my supervisor comes in, and goes CRAZY!!!! "WTF are you doing?!?!? you can't smoke inside!!?!?!?"
me - I know, I am not smoking. This is an electronic cigarette (enter 5 minute description here)
him - well, it's against regulation to use tobacco inside!
me - I know, there's no tobacco...
him - well, you still can't have anything burning inside!
me - I know that too. Nothing is burning, there's no flame.
This continued for a few more minutes. Him trying to come up w/ some reason to yell at me for doing something I was not allowed to do, and me correcting him every time. He finally got mad, and just stormed out.

Fast forward about a year.... The AF Surgeon General decides to include e-cigs/PVs in the tobacco use policy (i.e. only outside in designated areas...blah blah blah)

He runs into my office w/ the biggest S#!T eating grin on his face....
him - Did you see the message from the Surgeon General!?!! You smoke thing is no longer allowed in here! ha ha! now what?!?!?
me - yes, I did see it. so, guess I will see you in about 10 minutes. (and I walked out of the room!!!)

BWA HA HA HA HA HA!
