I put a bunch of cartos in a pot of boiling water... boiled them good for about 15 minutes.... then I rinsed them. I can still smell the old juice in some of them  What to do now?

Oh, and just an fyi... don't boil the little white end caps (I removed them first). They will warp badly... I had to toss about 15 of them. :(

I boil mine to but for less time and i do it twice because of the lingering flavor.

I boil mine for 5/7 minutes then blow them out.
Repeat the step and you should be good to go.

If you have a really stubborn cart you can always soak in everclear or any grain alcohol for a few minutes and that will usually do the trick. If all that fails then just reserve those carts for the same flavor.

stop wait for it its coming ................its almost here ok dont clean cartos thats just silly lol lawnman3

:confused::confused::confused::confused: You dont clean your carts? The cart is a container for food product. Several uses is ok as long as it is continuous but if your letting them sit open with liquid in them for long periods of time well that is just Silly.

You can do several experiments on your own. 1)leave bread in a bowl for several days and wait for the outcome. 2) Every meal you eat use the same plate/bowl/spoon/fork forever and a day without washing those and see how that works out for you? I would be interested to have you post the results of that one

LOL Y'all are so funny. Some of you are just neurotic! ;)

I just rinse with warm water and run a couple droppers of vodka through. And let them air dry overnight. They taste so nice the next time.

jebey, you did get me thinking, though. I wonder if I'm getting the nasties in there when I puff one a few times without cleaning. Hrmm.

When you say sitting around open do you mean without condoms and buttplugs on them, the reason I ask is because I have a boatload of them in freezer bags in cool place with condoms and plugs on them. Some of them for 3 months been lazy about refilling do you think there alright?Just wanted your input.

I was thinking that, too, maxx. Temp too high in the cart for bacteria. But I bet some bacteria can build up while you're not vaping. Then you toast and vape the bacteria.

Sheesh. See how Americans have developed a hypersanitary reputation.

It's rubbed off on me. Since my teens, when I learned that smells actually have a particle base, I nearly keel over when I smell some things. Imagine these little fart molecules... clouds of them floating around in the theater. Microscopic brown bubbles... that coat the lining of your nose. Ughsh.

I am a cart washer. In fact, I now wash them after every refill. Not b/c of a bacteria phobia (PG is known to be antiviral, antifungal and antimicrobial in high concentrations so I'm not too worried about that) but I don't like the way the draw and flavour deteriorates even after 1 top off.

To wash my carts I just fill a large cup (like 32 or 44 oz cup) with hot water. Suck some of the water into a turkey baster. Insert the end of the turkey baster into the top of the carto and squeeze to force the water out the battery end. I usually repeat till I can't smell any juice left in it.

Then I let the carts dry out for at least a couple of days before I refill. I've also built up a nice cart collection trying flavours so some of them I'm also just storing for later use. I store them clean with no caps to ensure air flow so they will dry out.

I'm curious. What temperatures are achieved inside the carto? I would think that any bacteria would be killed if the temps get above that of boiling water....212 F. I think the vaporization point of PG is around 300 or so?

I use to follow scubadans posts but if you think adrenlynn speaks a different language then this guy speaks farsi.

but I believe the vaporization temp for the carto atties is around 160 degrees.

While PG is antimicrobial the other ingredients are not. Its food grade flavoring and everytime it comes in contact with oxygen there is the possibility that little buggers can attach.

Im not overly concerned with this but to not wash them every now in then i think is just kind plain neglectful. I have to keep going back to the dishes we use on a daily basis. Thats what a carto is basically. We wash our dishes after every use (well most of us do) so why wouldnt you wash your carts after a few uses?

I'll tell you what we need (maybe V4l would be interested in producing them and selling them on their site for us).

We need a long silicone "condom" with a turkey baster end. We already know that the condom fits nice and snuggly over the cart so it would get a good seal. It should just be longer so that when we squeeze the bulb to force the water though the cart, the condom end doesn't distort and break the seal.

Even a condom ended syringe would work. You would just need to refill more frequently.

Does my description make sense? Get Leaford on this...LOL...

Thanks so much everyone for your responses!

lawnman, I want to get the most mileage out of my carts and still have good flavor/vape... the e-juice is sticky, so I would imagine that after topping off multiple times, it would get gunky inside and the cart wouldn't work as well. Not so sure about the bacteria issue, but I would imagine boiling and/or alcohol (as in vodka) would kill almost anything.

I think I'm going to try a re-boil and then soak any that still smell strong in vodka, and see how that goes.

I've been using the same carts I was using about 2 months ago. Never cleaned them or rinsed them. I use similar juice in them so I don't worry about mixing weird flavors but certainly have never had issues with germs or sickness. To me thats just paranoia
