Cleaning Cartomizers - What did I do wrong?

So last night I decided to clean out all my empty and/or nasty tasting juice cartos....I used Snow's turkey baster method first (to get the nasty juices out...) and then I boiled them for 15 mins. Put them in a 200 degree oven for about 45 mins and then let them sit out over night.

There were about 20 of them....I just tried to fill 2. They aren't soaking much juice up (about 1/4 of a condom)...when I put them on the PT they are getting hot and "sizzling"...but no vape. No flavor, no vapor...nothing.

Do I need to let them dry longer or just keep testing until some (or none) work?

Did you blow the water out of them?Take one and blow in the mouth end and see if water comes out the batt end.

ok another quick one...now that I have blown them out, should I let them dry for a day or 2 or put them back in the oven for a while?

Umm . . . I'm kinda thinkin' back into the oven. Although Nevada IS a very arid climate. (I personally wouldn't care to vape mold!)

Given the nature of PG, mold shouldn't be a problem. Can you make something to Reverse Taryn Spin them out? That should have them dry enough to refill with juice after a minute or so of spinning.

I'm also not a big fan of boiling them in a pot for 15 minutes, it tends to kill a lot of cartomizers. Take a shot Vodka, do the turkey baster method, then run a little hot water through them under the sink, put them back in the bastor and flush them out in a glass of hot water. Give them a couple shakes over the sink and reverse taryn spin them......then refill them with juice.

I had the same thought Eleanor did, so I put them in the oven. I have sort of a spinner, but it needs a little perfecting Still looking around for some string actually...I have it, I am a pack rat lol

I will definitely try the vodka. I remember reading about that, but all I have is Captain Morgans right now LOL I will get some next week...I thought boiling them might be a bit rough on them.

So I have found the perfect solution for cleaning out cartamizers. I take mine apart, and rinse them in warm water and trap the water inside (about half full) then shake it up and repeat. When I cant smell my juices anymore now its time for drying. I do a basic dry, using a paper towel and blowing to get excess water out. Then here comes my stroke of genius. Air duster. I spray it in small burst at a slight angle from both sides. Gets all of the water out completely, and its ready to go in less then five.

I followed someone's instructions to clean a batch of about 17 cartos. Boiled them and then dried in a 225 oven. Not one of them worked after. They were totally dry. No water blew out. They would heat up, hear the sizzle, but NO vapor - just really hot air. After that experiment, I decided I would just toss them when they got bad or didn't like the flavor, but would like to find a cleaning method that works and doesn't kill them (bc I'm thrifty). So thrifty I haven't even brought myself to toss the 17 dead ones. I guess I keep praying that one day I'll try one and they will come back to life - LOL.

But where's the fun without any danger Ms. Eleanor? My favorite ride of all time was the mind eraser (roller coaster here in the dc area). First time I rode it they only had this mechanical shoulder restraint. Well, mine unlocked as the ride was going down hill. I held on for life (literally) the whole time. At the end, they shut it down, tried to offer me season tickets so I wouldn't sue, etc. I told them I wanted to ride it again the same way, they refused... Sadly after that they put extra restraints on it... No roller coaster has been as fun since....

I do not recommend the following: Boiling them in a pot or Oven Drying

As mentioned in the video, if want to rid a Carto of a strong flavor to use with a different flavor just use vodka instead of water, flushing it back and forth with the bastor. Then run some hot water through the Carto under the sink, place it back in the bastor and flush it back and forth in a glass of hot water.
