That didn't go so well. I ended up losing the brass pin of my button down the drain....
What's worse they're out of stock on e-smokeguru. Thankfully I have an old spare from my old GGTS but.....

small parts don't get near my sink until I have the drain plugged. And even then I have everything in a Tupperware as a double precaution...those damn little parts are slippery

I use my wife's spaghetti strainer (don't tell her). Works like a dream to rinse those small parts.

I've had to take the goose neck apart to get a small part back

I don't have to bother with a strainer any more. My goose neck is so full of o-rings any time I drop something it winds up on top of them. Any easy pick with tweezers.
