Skelley before you file try just seating it higher. It works! Except it gets gurgle if you go to high, and doesn't do a thing if you don't go high enough

The dremeling of just the slot space did NOthING

I'm really upset the fluxos aren't working for you. Im stumped. They're out of this world for me :(

Here it is

I mic's the diameter of the atty and post. I think these are MiT CE3's and they were identical down to .001"
I rocked & lifted the tube to get a little more space .001/,002", they still seem to perform the same, ok.
I went back to a quick 1 to 3 whip method between hits and watch for bubbles it's working good.
I give it little "whips" between hits to make sure it's not vapor locked and it seems to work. No dry hits and it's performing good.
I may file more off later.

Dang, I missed your post somehow.
I have mine raised about half of what you show, but I filed on mine also.
Yeah, there is a fine line, but I think once you get it you're good to go.

The fluxo's put out tons of vapor, but no flavor. I may use them for my flavorless nic juice later.
I have 2 out of the box that give zero flavor and the other 3 are muted.

I think these newer style CE3's are my favorite clearos as I think the flavor is spot on.

I'm glad this worked for you. So after a file and a lift you're vaping without issue?

The one in the pic was almost perfect for me but there was a drop of leak through the center tube for every 10-20 hits. Not a lot but still not perfect or auto safe

Now I'm really wondering what the difference is between your out of the box perfect CE3 and the one you had to mod ! Would answer a lot of questions. Wonder if it's the interaction between wick placement and top post searing

Yeah, I had a drop on my batt post also. I pushed the post back down and it's still working good (it's filed also).
I'm still doing the slight quick whip between hits, I think it's just a habit with these now, but I generally vape right up to the batt shutoff. I'm not sure if it's a thing where I'm done drawing or my batteries have me trained...lol.
I'm using my Lavatube and KGO batts for the last few days.
Maybe since these are the latest/greatest, they might be pushing them out or selling factory 2nd's for website rebrands.
I know the ones with the MiT hologram on the box worked without issues, but I only got 2 boxes.

I see

I just got home and played with another one. Pulled the post up a bit less than in my pic, and I'm half way down the carto without a single dry hit, not a drop of leakage.

The bubbles are flying up much faster as well (75% VG)

I guess its a matter of finding the sweet spot

Being a sloppy scientist I also changed another variable this time, so I don't know what worked. I took the flat end of a tooth pick and pushed the wicks flat so they weren't crowding the slots. Kind of the exact opposite of CE2 wick fluffing.

These things EAT JUICE lol

EDIT: And I don't mind the quick whip/suck at all. Its having to do it every 2 hits which is not happening for me. If I have to do it every 5-10 hits I'm totally cool with that. No different than having to top off a carto every 15 hits or tilt a fluxo every 5 hits/vape horizontal.

Hello folks, I have a CE2 ultimate question. I've gone through 4 refills, and now the performance has dropped dramatically. Granted I've been vaping some carto-killing cappuccino juice, and the coil and wick are totally gunked up right now, barely producing vapor.

Is this fluxo dead, or is it in need of a wash and dry burn? I've heard you guys mention that the wicking material is different now, so I'm wondering if it's salvageable.

quoted for you my friend

Voltron buddy, this is my approach to these things with fluxos.

Flavors only *kind of* of stick to the plastic, so if you're using something strong (menthol, etc) that you don't want to taste, then you can

1) flush with scalding hot water
2) gently wiggle the outer plastic off (this is optional, what it really does is speed up drying)
3) drop it in PGA (vinegar works as well, but not on powerhouse flavors like menthol)
4) flush with hot water again, and set the parts on a paper towel with the wicks touching the paper towel. it will be dry in about an hour

Now what flavor really does cling to, and what shortens the lifespan of these things, is the coils. Do you own a manual? If you do, dry burning can restore the coils to pretty much brand newness. (So as you can infer, if its not a super strong flavor, you can skip the PGA soak entirely, and just rely on the following steps to get rid of the taste. At most you'll taste the old flavor for a few hits, eventually it'll get pushed out)

1) attach the guts (no shell) to your manual (make sure your guts are DRY, it will make this much faster)
2) open a window or do this somewhere ventilated so you're not inhaling toxins
3) hold the button for three seconds, then stop and blow quickly on the coil. repeat. repeat. repeat. It will be hissing like mad as the water is being evaporated.
4) now the wick will start to look like crap as the gunk starts to move off the coils and into the wick, worry not, keep going
5) now the hissing starts to go away, and the coils start to glow by the 3rd second of each pulse.
6) hissing is gone, and each time you press the button the coils are bright red and the surrounding wick is more or less pristine, except for a few light brown spots at most

***When I dry burn, I am more reckless because I've done it so much, meaning I will pulse for 5 seconds with no blow out. But I don't recommend you do this until you get a feel for it, as you can pop the coil. ***

**** you may notice a pile of ash on your coils after you're done dry burning. most advocate flushing again with water to get rid of it. I'm a ..... and often just fill and vape, and don't inhale the first few hits. the ash taste goes away immediately. that doesn't mean bad things don't entire your lungs, I don't know. probably not because with juice in there the coils can only get so hot.****

you can take this a step further if you own a torch and just take the torch to the wicks. they will NOT burn, and will become shock white. Keep in mind your silicone cup has heat shrink on it, as do your wires, so if you're not careful you'll roast them.

The wick doesn't really become a limiting issue in so far as a spot here and there, so you can just ignore it. the coils are everything.

And be gentle with the wick, because everytime you touch it, handle it, you run the risk of progressively shearing off more and more of it. not a deal breaker, because you can use these things with about half the wick they come with, or even better, snip the wicks down to just the area of the coil (a tad more) and use Pyramid Tea Bags as substitutes; they actually work best this way.

If you want to be super careful with the wicks, don't bother ever wiggling off the plastic tube. It just means you do the same steps above but have to wait longer for the wicks to dry and get to the dry burn step

NEVER throw anything out. We can show you how to recycle/rebuild these things ad infinitum. Keep a fluxo graveyard bag and just throw anything that bites it right in there.

I don't no, I only have skelley's experience and my own (which amounts to flaming one wick and getting odd results) to go on. That said, the wick that I flamed and looks funny is still working at 100%, and I have no complaints. I'm switching to all stainless steel or cotton from now on, in so far as I can help it. I couldn't get a straight answer on the got vapes forum.

keep me posted!

Alright, so I went ahead with the dry burn process and the wick stayed black. On the plus side, the fluxo is back to working just fine :) I refilled it with the same juice and it's hitting like new again.

I also filled up a third fluxo with DK Tab, and it works perfectly fine. I placed an inverted Volt mouthpiece as a mod in place of the plug, and am hitting it with no driptip. It works so far...

Speaking of batts, I see you can now pre-order the new Ego-C Twist. I'll place my order tomorrow.

Back to the "Stardust" types;
Visions name: Ego Clearomizer
Microcigs name: CE4+

I found a site 'myfreedomsmokes' that appears to be selling both or I'm wondering if it's just the way the typed it on the page?
I gotta run or I'd email them....whatcha think?

Voltron, are you using the Ultimates with the 2 seal design or the Supreme's with the 'easy fill' seal?

I also need to email Vapor Alley, I'm curious if the new boxes of CE3's are MiT's or knock-offs.
Working midnights is cramping my vaping email time...lol.
Gotta run.

MFS has always been a great vendor to me

Phoenix: the issue is, there is too much wick for not enough hole

I have two clearos working perfectly now

#1 has the center post lifted up

#2 has the center post flush but I removed 30% of the wick and trimmed them flush

The plot thickens. Glad to assist the manufacturer as a beta tester so they can re release with another issue and rip me off. I swear I'm done. If I don't build it, I don't vape it.
