Ummmmm...... Ok, this where the argument becomes cyclicle and useless. I'm out, enjoy fellas.

The only moral obligation you have as an experienced vapor is to help and advise the new vapors how to do things safely.
I just don't understand why supporting theft and counterfeiting is not only accepted, but encouraged in the vape world. It isn't in any other industry. People talk about the greed of the genuine manufacturers, yet it is those who propagate the theft for profit and those who drive it are the ones who should be taking a look in the mirror. Perhaps the 'need' to have dozens of branded counterfeits speaks of a larger issue...
The only reason these well made clones are accepted here is because the authentic ones are priced way too high. I will always pay $22 for an atty instead of $180 for its authentic and have the exact same working atty. If you don't like it, too bad. It's none of your business what we do or how we spend our money.
Disclaimer: This is not in defense of Ping, nor an attack on you.
This is not a "huzzah" for authentics, nor an attack on clones.
So Bird...what if, just WHAT IF, his moral obligation drives him to include material quality in his list of safety points? After all, a new vaper should be taught that there is a vast difference not only in the performance of different metals, but also in the safety of different metals.
I, for one, have done a lot of research on the safety of using different metals when they're in contact with foods or other consumable substances.
One of the things included in the high price of an authentic, is the transparency of quality materials used. All authentic designers I've spoken with (or purchased from, or have considered/researched), are open and willing to provide the list of materials used. Clone makers are not. And when they do, they lie. And I've seen it. Notice, I didn't say the "affordable authentic makers". Because even most of them will be honest about their materials.
When it comes to the safety of materials used, one must consider this dismaying observation... If you're using a device that is made of inferior/"mystery" materials, that come in contact with what you're consuming (e-liquid/juice/what have you), you are, in some cases, doing more damage to yourself than when you were smoking. And that fact cannot be refuted.
So when you, or anyone else on this thread, speaks of safety, don't be so blinded by another's post(s), that you forget about the safety of quality materials. Because they play just as big a part, if not the biggest part, in vaping safely
I'm not joining this asinine conversation from either standpoint, as it's mostly just a humorous journey into the human condition, reserved for my morning poop time. But, you're firing arrows from the top of your moral high ground, just the same as everyone else is. I'm just highlighting on the idea that you may not have considered the of view. Again, I said "MAY NOT have considered"...I didn't say "HAVE NOT considered".
Please, all of you, continue. I had very spicy buffalo wings for dinner last night, and I feel a second trip to the porcelain throne approaching. I need more reading material!

I suppose those who buy other stolen goods say the same things...
Those who think crunchy threads are a sign of good machining just don't know the difference and never will...
The clones that I buy are not "cheap Chinese clones that are made with cheap sub par material". I'll bet they will last just as long as an authentic one.
If they are cloned of an authentic ... corners have been cut, quality control is minimal and finally ... it is not possible for a clone to outlast an authentic under the same use.
All clones are made with sub par material ... your's included.

Whoa!
I am surprised you managed to say something other than "I love my clones."
My toilet time has gotten far more interesting!
Lava poops and new sentences from Ricks...
What other new things will today bring?

No corners cut and 100% perfectly machined is what I'm using. Maybe you got some cheap ones in the past but the clones that are made today are perfect. And these will last as long as an authentic. Buy one and see for yourself.

Dude, I vaped for probably 7 or 8 months on only clones. I was an Unemployed college student on disability, going through a divorce and recovering from a life changing injury; It Doesn't get much poorer.
I bought one high end mod and researched clones until I settled on a couple of the higher quality.
I graduated and got back to work after 4.5 years of not being able to, and the first thing I bought myself was a new high end mod and new authentic erlkoengin.
Trust me, THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN BUILD QUALITY.
Since then I have stuck to test driving a clone and if I like it buying the authentic. Yes, the vape is different, yes the build quality is light years apart, yes you do get what you pay for.
You may not believe it; but, hey dude, if you like what you're using and you're not smoking, that's all that really matters. But; you have to at least be honest about it.
That's all I've been trying to say.
I've wasted money on knockoff items before ... my experience has been very consistent across several industries ... you get what you pay for.
it's no different than a cheap hardware tool bought at a dollar store ... they will never outlast or outperform tools made with superior material or top notch quality control.
however, some folks will continue to buy those cheap sub par dollar store items ... and in their minds, the product is just as good or better.
I am not to judge ... for me, I buy quality second hand for the sole purpose of longevity ... others, just plain cannot see the difference.
I am honest about these. The ones I have are just as good as the authentic ones. What ones are you talking about? My Tobecco KF4's are perfectly machined and they work exactly the same as SM.
I agree with you about the tools. I used to be a mechanic and still have and use the same tools today. But with the clones that I use today, They are made exactly like the authentic ones. I know they will last as long as the authentic ones. I will most likely not use them too long because something else will come out and will continue on and on until whenever.
If you have not held one of these clones in your hands, you will not know what I'm talking about. Until then, you do not know.

We've had this argument before... And it resulted in me getting a nice 6 week all expenses paid vacation from ecf. The bottom line is it's no ones place to tell anyone else what to do with there money. No one crowned you the moral police.
The only moral obligation you have as an experienced vapor is to help and advise the new vapors how to do things safely. If all that vile, anger were directed at stressing battery safety and build safety, maybe it would be productive. But blindly bashing someone for making personal economic decisions based on their own monetary situation is not being responsible. No one is judging you as a person but rather what and how you say things.
Me buying a clone to test drive an atomizer before dropping over 120$ on the authentic is not ignorant at all, its called microeconomics.
I won't speak to anyone else's decisions, I am not them. But you bashing me for that is not only insulting but it shows a level of ignorance that is quite frankly inexplicable. No one took money from you when they buy a clone, why so serious. It's still a step up from donating to RJ Reynolds. Don't we as vapors have enough enemies ? Do we need the infighting? Why is it so hard to be supportive of others in the same major fight?
