Yeah and I read an article where McDonalds meat was found to contain human meat.

McDonald?s Exposed For Using Human Meat! | Alternative

Mmm, Green is my favorite Soylent...

To the OP, I have plenty of Chinese vape gear (they are the original inventors of the stuff). Some is "authentic" (Innokin, joyetech, Kanger, etc.) and some of it is clones. I have no problem purchasing the clones, as they are CLEARLY advertised as such. I KNOW what I'm getting into, so to speak. Intellectual property laws and business culture in general are very different in the US vs. China. Yes, there are far less patent protections/enforcement in China than in the Western World. That doesn't make it bad necessarily, just different.

However, it can be argued that the lesser protections actually drives a thriving and emerging free market system in China, one in which few barriers to enter the market drive innovation and invention. Yes, the downside is increased risk to consumers. However, caveat emptor is an art that many have sadly lost. I personally would rather have a flourishing and innovative industry and carefully evaluate the products myself, rather than an overly regulated industry in which there are very few manufacturers (you know, the biggest ones who can afford the regulations) and few options of goods (as chosen by gov't or business, not in our own best interest).

Do you suppose there still making drywall over there in China? I would bet there isn't much of a demand for it anymore.

Don't see much Chinese powdered baby milk on the shelves anymore either.

There ya go, my point exactly! Adam Smith's "Invisible Hand" is still alive and well somewhere on this planet. (****DISCLAIMER: I'm taking this as an analogy only. The businesses that did that to innocent babies and adults alike is reprehensible, to say the least). I just am amazed that it is China exploring the possibilities of a truly free market enhancing the people of the world, as so many in the West only increase government intervention to skew the natural market signals.

I don't buy clone mods, I buy originals. But think about this....

Anything built after the first is a clone...

For example... There was a first car, then all these other companies popped up. So aren't they cloning the original and in a sense they aren't originals? Chevy would be a clone then....

There was a first cell phone too...then others copied that design. So are all those companies making clones?

I don't buy clones. I want a good warranty! I want the original because I just like them better too. I know there are good clones but I don't like to chance it.

Everything made is a clone of the first made. That's reality.

So you only buy nine year old PVs, and 120 or so year old cars? How old is your house, or should I say cave?

You can't have it both ways :)

When I refer to a Chinese "clone", I am talking about a product that is a flagrant reproduction of the non-Chinese original.

Example:

A Kayfun clone that not only has the Kayfun logo etched in the body, but also says "Designed in Russia - Made in Germany" on it

A ladies "Coach" purse that looks identical to the real Coach.

A watch that specifically says "Rolex" on it, but obviously is not a Rolex.

In other words .... Flagrant, in your face, violations of international copyright laws .... piracy at it's best

Ugh. I'm just saying everything in reality is a clone. I'm not saying I would never ever buy a clone... But for now that's all I've bought is authentic. The reason being the warranty and hearing horror stories of threading issues. If my original nemesis has an issue I can get another through warranty. Can you do that with a clone?

Picking at words are we? LOL....

Where else would it be? I'll probably be sorry I asked that. ;)

Lmao -- I was just wondering. Oh, this is the cloned clone thread..I thought it was the other one.
My two cents though.A well made battery tube shouldn't cost $250 and until they all go down, I'm good with China made.

This is somewhat my view. A mech mod is just a tube and a fire button, right? To eliminate anything seperating the battery from the device on top? So less can go wrong and there's no chip interfering with the power level? Simplicity, right? Then why $250 for a polished metal tube? For the etching in it?

They learned their brand pricing policy from Apple.
