Most things aren't especially limited to anyone with a bit of patience. There's two places with nemesis available right now...I am guessing people are still buying clones. Stainless chi's are available...yet still clones are being bought.

It's not hard to find these things, it's just easier to pretend you can't and order a clone then be self-righteous about it.

Yeah i get what you are saying but you just focused on the point where people are willing to spend 300++ on a metal. Like i've said, this whole vaping thing is not a fashion trend where you NEED to have the original products.

Everyone is different, one might invest every bit of money they have on vaping devices, one might want to just experience what everyone is experiencing w/o having to purchase the expensive devices, one might not find the extra money to purchase the expensive ones. To each their own.

There is no need to discriminate people who are buying knockoffs/clones/counterfeits, whatever you wanna call it, just because you can afford it. If that is what you want to invest your money on go ahead.

Also, like I've mentioned on my first post, yeah it is not limited quantity NOW because they had to compete with the sales of the knockoffs, but admit it, they had the serial numbers because of the LIMITED release the first time, but people was able to clone the original and started making sales therefore the makers of the authentics had to do something or else they would lose their business.

Patience has nothing to do with it, if you want that specific vaping device but was not able to get it on first release, thinking that this would satisfy your craving to smoke (and to avoid smoking itself) would you have the patience to wait then?

I tried a co-worker's genuine kayfun, which is what led me to my H-Cigar Kayfun clone (he hates me now, after dropping 150, and mine looks and vapes the same). Looks exactly the same, feels exactly the same, vapes better, and doesnt have that......crunchy feeling when mounting to the tesla. Just like my Kraken clone from the same company, very well made, and both vape like a freight train. the kayfun tho damn, that sucker I nick named the throat puncher.... SOB kicks the throat like a mule. Need to ease back the nico with that gorgeous beauty. The Kayfun also came in a nice zipper case, vs a cardboard box.
One question, I know there needs to be a space left in the tank of the kayfun when filling, I use the fill valve on the bottom, and I also want to use the stainless tank......how will I know if the tank is getting too full?

You may want to make sure and keep your Kraken clone out of the water. Rust in the lungs probably isn't good for you. But hey, they're just as good as the real thing, right?

Oh, and let's not forget about the Nimbus clone. Looks like a lovely case of lead poisoning in the making.

But has anyone tried to do the exact same thing on the exact same authentic products? Im just wondering if they did the testing to both authentic and clone products, also have they provided details and proof that they used the substances that they used during the testing are the same substances that we use when vaping? (Juice, heat, etc.)

Im just saying these testings prove something but it has to be on point and relate to everything that they wanted to prove and test the product on. Would you have proven something if they used acid as their substance to test these clones? Of course not because we dont vape acid at all (Maybe not acid but i could not think of anything else lol)

I've never tested anything but I've left my real attys in water and/or vodka overnight and they've never looked like the Kraken clone. The Nimbus clone picture wasn't a test either. That's a vaper's atty and that's what it looked like after being in use for awhile. China is the land of asbestos in drywall, poisoned pet food, lead paint on children's toys, melamine in milk, etc. Do you really think they'd draw the line at misrepresenting what materials they're making these clones out of? Not worth the risk for me.

We absolutely vape acid! Whenever a juice you have is very sour, that's usually the product of an acid (citric and malic are the usual suspects). I'll also add quick that these are perfectly safe, and are naturally found in many fruits. Before I really got into high end stuff, I had a Squid RDA (an ERA clone). I used it a lot... and the plating on the base and posts started peeling off, and it looked pretty nasty, amazingly similar to that Nimbus clone picture. It is now owned by the trash. My Helios, which I've used a lot more than that Squid (and a lot more intensely, I'll add - it was my intro into sub ohms), looks the same inside as the day I got it.

When it comes to atomizers, you really want to be a bit more careful when choosing material. You need to understand and appreciate the kind of pressure you'll put on these devices, especially a dripper with sub ohms. There's a reason almost all high end atomizers are made from either stainless steel or titanium.

I call B.S. On those pics!!!

. Looks to me like the Steel screws in the posts and in the fill hole on that geni are what rusted. The same materials are used in the screws on the real ones as well. Typical case of a picture is worth a thousand words.

And yet strangely I clean my atties by soaking them in vodka or boiling, never had that happen. Except back in the day on vivi novas

Like I've said, you don't need counterfeits to not smoke anymore. You don't need counterfeits to have a decent device at a decent price. It's something you choose. I don't discriminate against people who can't afford authentic high end stuff. It's the choice to buy counterfeit stuff instead of something else that's not a ripoff that I "discriminate", your word, against.

There are plenty of things I haven't been able to get on first release and haven't purchased a clone of instead. I'm not dumb enough to believe one product in a market of hundreds that do the same thing is the key to me not smoking though. I haven't been on the first run of most things.

Interestingly enough I've been using a Nimbus clone for months now with no corrosion... Guess I got a good one? Lol.

If you honestly think the posts aren't mystery-metal (likely brass) plated with mystery-metal (likely nickel/chrome), make a tiny scratch in one of the posts with a file. If you see brass, there's a danger of lead exposure.

We spent decades trying to eradicate lead exposure (in the US, at least). Cost issues and arguments aside, I don't want to see people getting sick because an atomizer is slightly cheaper. There are good, all-stainless attys available for reasonable prices.

Please, if you're at all on the fence, read this: Lead content in Brass - Wikipedia

We should not be fueling anti-vaping sentiment by using atomizers that contain standard-grade brass, and plating does nothing to alleviate that danger.

I stopped using my IGO-L the second I realized the posts are plated brass, and I loved that atty.

Stainless steel will not rust, and the only chemicals that have a really bad reaction on it (both 304 and 316) are halogen-based chemicals (iodine, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrobromic acid). In fact, citric acid is rumored to help stainless steel in passivation, which is it induces a protective layer of oxidation that makes the metal LESS reactive to the environment around it. My guess is that whoever makes that Kraken clone is not being honest about the type of metal they're using. There's obviously a lower percent of chromium in their alloy than is required to be classified as "stainless" (about 10.5%). Just for the record, 304 and 316 stainless steel contains about 18% chromium.

I stopped using my IGO-L the second I realized the posts are plated brass, and I loved that atty.

You must be talking about the IGO-L from Fast Tech...?

My authentic IGO-L has stainless posts... either that, or it's somehow fooled a chemist here.

And I also said, To each their own, you dont have to force people to match your standards just to please yourself. Also, you just said that you dont discriminate people who CANT afford high end authentic stuff, but you discriminate people who CHOOSE to buy counterfeits, you are still discriminating. That's is more likely to keep people away from vaping (which is to get people on the "safer" side) because of the hate that they will get just buy having fakes. Like I've said, some people doesnt invest on things like this, because they dont need to and they dont have to, and some people doesnt have B&M who focuses mainly on vaping that will provide them that low end authentic mod.

Yeah you can search online, well there are plenty of cheap authentic mods out there, but seriously, would you appreciate his mod more than you would appreciate a nemesis authentic or chi you or whatever that is?

It's like a person wearing crocs trying to fit in to a group of people wearing authentic LIMITED edition jordans. Those people wearing jordans might not discriminate the person wearing crocs but they wont appreciate the crocs as much just because of the fact that it isnt jordans. Also, they wont appreciate a FAKE(but 1:1 replica, just like the clones for mods) jordan but would they even bother checking if its fake? They wouldnt and they would happily accept and appreciate him and that person will feel better because he "fits" in.

You can't say, well vaping is not a trend and we dont judge people who has low end authentic mods, because what does it matter if a person is using a cloned mod? You don't EARN or LOSE anything AT ALL when you let him or not let him have that clone. It's the likes of people who discriminate other people because of what they choose to have, forces other people to buy cloned mods so that they wont be discriminated or at least use the fact that the cloned mod might look exactly the same as authentic and pretend they own one just to please other people. Which has become a trend.

Unless you are one of the guys who buys the authentics and when they are out of stock or you had the chance of selling it, you would sell it for more than what you bought it for, because those are one of the people who pushes the clonemakers to provide the needs of the others.

You only speak at a person's point of view who has everything in hand, you need to consider almost every factor that you can think of, not just the one that suits you and your needs/standards.

And you just mentioned,

" I'm not dumb enough to believe one product in a market of hundreds that do the same thing is the key to me not smoking though. "

isn't it ironic? You know yourself that all these devices, clones - high end authentic - low end authentic - VV/VW - Mechanical - ego - cigalikes, does the same thing which is produce vapor that will satisfy your nicotine cravings. So why do people need to get what you think they should get in the first place? And im talking about the authenticity not the model or brand of a product.

No, mine is the original Youde/UD IGO-L. I bought it when it was first introduced, far before there was any fasttech clone.

Scratch the negative post with a file or sharp knife. It's plated brass. There are pics early in the IGO-L thread showing this.

I don't have a B&M near me. It's not about investing or not, it's about the choice to respect other people and their creations. I don't have an opportunity to get a Vela but I wouldn't buy a clone.

Also, how am I forcing anyone to match my standards. I am stating my opinions and thoughts just like anyone else in this thread. It's generally what people do on an internet forum. Discriminate isn't my word choice, I was mirroring the word choice in the post I quoted. Hence the quotations and my saying "your word", I wouldn't use that. I disagree with the choice to buy a counterfeit and of course that would inform my opinion of people on here who I only know by things like this.

You either don't understand how discussions work or you have a victim complex. No one is coming to your home and stealing your clone.

Yeah you can search online, well there are plenty of cheap authentic mods out there, but seriously, would you appreciate his mod more than you would appreciate a nemesis authentic or chi you or whatever that is?

I appreciate any mod that isn't logo'd counterfeit. There are plenty of non-counterfeit mods in all price ranges that I am not into but there are plenty of people not into the mods I buy. It's not about $50 vs $200, it's about not stealing everything about someone's creation down to the logo.

I don't even know what to say about this. Sounds like high school. I am solely against counterfeits, which is not about the item's worth, so I don't really have this issue. If your friends have jordans but you have crocs and they look down you...find better friends?

You can't say, well vaping is not a trend and we dont judge people who has low end authentic mods, because what does it matter if a person is using a cloned mod? You don't EARN or LOSE anything AT ALL when you let him or not let him have that clone. Which has become a trend.

Again with the victim complex, don't particularly care what you have, just think logo'd counterfeits are crappy. Describe this discrimination...it sounds more like wanting what other people have.

Unless you are one of the guys who buys the authentics and when they are out of stock or you had the chance of selling it, you would sell it for more than what you bought it for, because those are one of the people who pushes the clonemakers to provide the needs of the others.

This one is easy, I've never sold an item for more than retail. In fact the only item I have ever sold for retail was a Noble 1 that I ordered when they first came out. I got it and didn't like it, too light, so I sold it for retail as it was brand new and sold out. I actually probably lost about 5 bucks with paypal fees. You can probably say a lot of not nice things about me but this is one that is pretty easy to prove wrong.

I don't believe in markups on used items, quite the opposite actually, so I don't buy or sell on classifieds at anything but under retail. In fact, I said that doing so was part of the problem earlier in this thread.

The clonemakers are providing for their needs actually.

You only speak at a person's point of view who has everything in hand, you need to consider almost every factor that you can think of, not just the one that suits you and your needs/standards.

We both only speak of one person's point of view, it's a condition of being one person. I am not sure I have everything in hand either. I've considered many factors or needs; counterfeits are not needed regardless. It's a choice which is why I don't feel bad about judging.

I can't afford a $35,000 rolex that I want but I won't buy the fake. Same choice

Well, as stated before, selling logo'd counterfeits is actually illegal in most places. There is a reason, it's an item that is based on stealing someone else's work. So I care based on that.

People don't need to do what I think is right, which is simply not buying counterfeits, they need to do what they feel is right. I am just a guy stating his opinion on an internet forum, like you.
