Ohhhh man .... I don't know what to say.

I just got a E-mail from a dude who obviously has been shopping around for box mods. He told me that I better look at the French mod maker *name withheld* and that my mods are obvious rip-offs of the models he was making just last year, and that this guy is a big time manufacturer with a half dozen distributors in over 8 countries and I better knock it off.

Well, rot my peg and call me a lubber.....

I remember when he started last summer, I started getting PM's asking questions about them and had to post a disclaimer that I had no affiliation with him at all and not to ask me about them as I didn't even know they existed.

Now look at him go.... @(#*$&!

It's fine being a craftsman and all, but I sure wish I had the business sense to take RSM to the next step and stop having to drive around in a 17 year old POS.

Can I have a pirate-y ARRRRRRR!

Wow... bet that makes you wish you got a design patent to sue him with... LOL!

Also, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic... maybe we should post some pics of mods from our fallen mod-maker brothers.

Here's a Grip from Brad. Simply gorgeous, he really has talent. Is he still puttering around anymore? I never keep track of stuff like that.

Grips are great mods also. Like my RSM better for looks if nothing else but the grip is pretty good. The feeder plunger thing is kinda weird but works good.

I looked at their website and facebook but I can't tell is Brad is making mods anymore or not. The facebook page hasn't been updated since before January. It looks like he did make some DNA 20 mods and even did a tank inset VV mod as well.

I'm pretty sure Brad is still making stuff - i have a Grip (of course you do Trunker) but i don't like the plunger and the switch at a weird angle makes battery choice hit and miss.

The last i saw he was making mods using some Damascus steel, which is amazing stuff. Metal that looks like wood grain.

It's a sad state of affairs when men of real talent struggle to make a living and government agencies, lawyers and shysters all get wealthier by irritating the rest of us.

Don't let it upset you Cappy, your mods sell out extremely fast and that should tell you something. Business is business, but you do it for the enjoyment and for us. Don't go a changing now.

I will confirm that I will buy one from every batch if available. Now pull yourself together, your crew is waiting for instructions.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

I wouldn't worry about the email Capt' You've got photographic proof you were at it first and he happened to hit a vein in Europe with the right reviewers & crowd. It's the same here in the states with the "hot" mods coming out. They get the right following and all of a sudden they have thousands of people wanting the mods at any price and that goes on until the next hot thing comes along. While it's great to be recognized for your work that kind of thing can have problems of it's own. Mainly the unwashed masses demanding theirs and attacking you if they don't get what they want. Nit picking every single thing and threatening legal action at every turn.

While I wish you more success, I also hope "That" kind of success doesn't strike you because you seem like a guy who cares about what he creates and that kind of success only works if you are looking for a big payday and then off to another money project.

It sure would be nice if you didn't have to worry about how you are going to afford the parts for your next mods though.... anyone know some B&M shops that will contract some RS Mods every 6 months or so? :p

If I remember correctly this isn't the first time something similar has happened. The uninformed are hilarious.

Posting from my spanking new internet connection. Going from country bumpkin 1meg "high speed" to 50meg cable is mind blowing. First time I've had cable TV also, I predict a bunch of lounging in my future :)
