Ahoy all, happy Friday!

Catch cups. Well, as I have absolutely no metal working machines available except for a drill press I have to modify what I can get.

If someone has a line on anything else that would be useable as a catch cup, by all means post a link :)

I modify push button guards I get from Digikey, but the biggest one is 15.4mm inner diameter. Digikey

Although I never thought it was a good idea even when I did it for a short time, I could route out a pocket into the wood in the top of the mods. Making the wood absolutely juice proof would be a problem and it doesn't look very good either.

Later all, arrr

In practical terms all you could do would be to mount the 510 flush with the top of the mod and lose the cup totally.

I did that at one time, it was called the "Wench" model. The popularity of it was pretty small, one sat on the website for weeks until I finally just put it in my booty box for posterity.

I'm also not sure about the realism of protecting a wood mod from juice. Bottles can leak, atties can leak etc.

If it's that important, clean and wax the mod is all i can say, never use it - even if you vaped pure vg you'd worry about warping it. Or maybe you'd not!
There is not one of mine that is a museum piece. They all run, have juice in them and batteries, because that is what they are for!

HRH has thrashed her cruisers daily for months with no sign of letting up. They look just the same as ever. The 'wench' huh? I'll be sure to let her know i'll buy her one!

The review you saw was for the LAIK. It's from Romania so no clue what kind of stock he is using for the drip cup. Pretty rustic looking next to a RSM but I love Scrat :)

Thanks Mack!!!

LOL yeah I try hard not to bad mouth anything but I personally like the look and finish of RSM mods over all of the other wood mod's I've seen with the Reo coming in a close second.

Ahoy all, having a good weekend so far?

I have the cnc machine running, have lot's of caddies to do but we're having the usual Florida weather, afternoon showers and lightening. Makes it hard to get a decent day of work done as I shut off the machinery when the radar says the storms are getting close.

Oh well, at least its slowly getting done.

Did we find out what a Scrat is? or did I miss it ...... arrr

Well, I guess you could call it isolated. See, I have Waho, (or whomever is on duty if he has too many bandages to climb), go up to the crows nest. Then we turn a handle and it starts to spin round and round and when they spot something they yell nice an' loud. If they get zapped by lightning then I guess the rest o' us are safe enuf.

Ohhhh man .... I don't know what to say.

I just got a E-mail from a dude who obviously has been shopping around for box mods. He told me that I better look at the French mod maker *name withheld* and that my mods are obvious rip-offs of the models he was making just last year, and that this guy is a big time manufacturer with a half dozen distributors in over 8 countries and I better knock it off.

Well, rot my peg and call me a lubber.....

I remember when he started last summer, I started getting PM's asking questions about them and had to post a disclaimer that I had no affiliation with him at all and not to ask me about them as I didn't even know they existed.

Now look at him go.... @(#*$&!

It's fine being a craftsman and all, but I sure wish I had the business sense to take RSM to the next step and stop having to drive around in a 17 year old POS.

Can I have a pirate-y ARRRRRRR!
