Been out for a few days. Great to have you back Tibs and my sincere condolences for your loss.
So, who else has been having just a wonderful week......being sarcastic here. My first seven day break started with me going to the doctor last Friday, sinus infection had already moved to my chest and had a fever. This has lead to pneumonia for me many times, so hit the doc quick for antibiotics. Felt like hell for days and wife threatened to beat me if I didn't stay on the couch or bed and recoup. Plus she reminded me of the fact I just got placed back on shift and missing time would look really bad if I didn't get over this. Anyway, finally got started good Tuesday and was knocking them out when my lathe broke....more bad luck. Was ......, so had to go chill and work on something else for a bit. I am in the new Evolv beta and converted a Reuleux for my test chip device. Spent most of Wednesday tearing down the lathe (luckily I bought spares the last time the cross slide stripped out). While I was repairing, also had bought a new tail stock (which is what allows me to drill holes) as the old one was starting to drift. So got it installed. I will be up all night anyway, since I work nights this weekend, but I am going to get all of batch 6 & 7 tips (those who didn't come back and add extras) cut and CAed. Almost finished 6 now and 7 was a small one. If I have time, will move into the next batch. Trying to get as many cut and CAed as possible. Polishing them up is something I can do over the weekend. Then I will start invoicing next Tuesday evening for all that are finished. It probably won't be everyone (since I had several add ons), but it is going to be close to everyone. I wouldn't have any luck at all if it wasn't for bad luck. But made the best of it and still getting a lot accomplished in the end. So almost everyone should get a notice from me next week.
Damn I hope me next 7 day break turns out better. But at least getting invited to the new Evolv beta group was one cool thing that happened. Even though it will not fit in a GDNA, still interesting to me. Not allowed to say a lot about it, but think DNA200 except 75w and one battery. There is already a bunch of other info out on the web...LOL.
Anyway, hope everyone else had a good week. Maybe all the bad karma just went in my direction...LOL.

This sort of falls into that extra category of mod rebuilds/reworks that got me so behind in the past. I have a ton of inventory that needs finishing (some will be a surprise to people, keep an eye on the book with faces for more on that stuff in the coming months, as I won't compete on ECF with friends and these items are a one shot deal, never to be made again). But as for the Reuleux conversions, not at this time. Too much other work.
Glad you're on the mend both physically and lathe wise Sounds like you have lots of exciting stuff going on! I was sure hoping the new 75 watt would fit in the GDNA mod. Since it's physically about the same size as the 200 I figured it would not

But once all backlog is complete, backstock is sold, my plan is to buy a larger, nicer stand alone cnc mill with the proceeds from those sales. Then I have some ideas for making my own mods. Which is another reason I've cut back on the vendor work I do, as I'm ready to get back to doing new and cool stuff.Glad you're on the mend both physically and lathe wise
Well, been cutting down tips all night. The following people have tips ready for CA, just taking a break and waiting for the last coat of Seafin oil to dry on Alamedean's tips. Distortoblotta, X-Puppy, Alamedean, PWheeler and Freedog all have the tips ready for CA, which I will be applying shortly then time for bed. Will get them polished out over the weekend (working 4 nights) and should have them ready for pics and invoices by at least Tuesday.
Blanks are cut for everyone else, just need to turn them down and finish. Should be finished by the next 7 day break if not sooner. That group is BobC, 4nic8, B2L, Nautilusfan, Ti/\/\ (or whatever the hell characters those are...lol), Treebeard and BiminiTwist. These are all the folks I have on my list. If I have missed anyone please send me a PM. I do have 3 people not on this list yet who are getting Gdibi (nutcases) with matching buttons/tips, but those are probably a few months out before I get the wood to make them.
Anyway, didn't get completely caught up like I hoped, but life happens. I'm a hell of a lot closer to being caught up than I was a few weeks back. Thanks again for everyone's continued patience and understanding. It will be great to be caught up so I can finish up my backstock and get to those two special, very limited types of mods I have coming out.
