@Rossum...Man, you don't know the half of it. I work rotating 12hr shifts which means I can be awake or asleep at any given time during the day or night. Start back on days tomorrow and will be sneaking up on my coffee @ 4am...;)

Ouch. How often do they rotate?

4 12hr nights 3 off, 3 12hr days 2 off, 3 12hr nights 3 off, 4 12hr days 7 off, 4 8hr days 4 off. 5 weeks = 1 rotation. Going into the first of the 4 12hr days in the morning and then 7 off. Shifts start at either 6am or 6 pm.

I think both my brain and my body would be in open rebellion. A six hour shift ("jet lag") when I'm back and forth to Europe on occasion is bad enough already.

Crazy stuff there! Curious as to what kind of work you do, if it's not impolite to ask? :)

That's almost the same shift I have been on and off for the past 26 years except it's 12.5hr due to turnover time and no 8 hr week (we did have it for a short time as a training week). Also ours is a 28 day cycle. It's hell on the body and you never really acclimate to it. Though I did finally bite the bullet and put in for a desk job this week in our IT department. Decided it would be better long term for my back instead of field work. Pretty damn sore after working my first set of 4 - 12.5hr days. Thank god it's followed by the 7 day break. But a lot of my issue is going to work with a sinus infection the last several days. Seeing the doc tomorrow about it. But at least i can take better meds at home to get through. Tip production will start Sat as i may need one day to recoup. I'll see tomorrow, as i might start tomorrow after doc appt.

We Call it T-week as well. Been at it for more years than I care to mention and I'm used to it although won't have to deal with it very much longer. The older I get the more I realize that work is getting in the way of life. Time retire and play with my toys.

@Alamedean, I'm in the water treatment industry which is a 24/7 operation. When you turn on the tap or flush, you must think of us...;)
