without researching what? The dude from Malaysia is the source of the funds. The order was placed by somebody in the USA to be shipped to the purchaser upon delivery to the US address. Marcus has said that he is not going to speak with the guy who funded the order. Only the guy who placed the order. If he has a cell phone, it is a no-cost phone call.
Again, the whole customs, out of country thing is a moot point...
That's where you're wrong, according to what I've read. DMC placed the order for Irwan, they are both in Malaysia. DMC was using someone he knows in Portland to ship the package to him. The person in Portland has nothing to do with the purchase other than to receive the item, and forward along.
I've been a party to this type of transaction, and made the buyer aware that once it is received at the delivery address in the US, that I would no longer be responsible. I paid the $2 extra for delivery confirmation (tracking). Did Marcus? DMC, who states he placed the order, has been publicly asking for a tracking number for nearly 2 months, from an order that said was shipped near the end of May.
Also from what I've read, many people have received email notification that their order has shipped, without tracking info. Does this company not cover themselves by paying the extra couple of dollars? For a couple hundred dollar mod, you'd think that would be common sense.
We specifically told you that we would take care of it which means us taking a loss and sending you another box if you indeed did not receive it which is perfectly fine with us and as always we are happy to do anything we can to make everyone as happy as possible.
Notice the little dig there, "if you indeed did not receive it" ? If the company had paid for tracking, they could wash their hands and come out clean. But he'd rather toss in an accusation, and take a loss.
These boxes look terrific. They are good craftsmen/artists. They need some help with their business sense.
